Who understands graphite ratings?
Trying to compare rods via statistics is virtually impossible with all the different ways of rating graphite. For instance the bps pro finesse rods use 70 million high modulus graphite to make their rod and they sell for $99. Cabelas on the other hand makes their new Magtouch rod with 54 million modulus graphite. Then you have IM7 IM8 IM9. What the heck does all this crap mean? Is there any way to compare apples to apples? Shouldn't 70 million be more sensitive than 54 million? And yes I know to go try them out and see which one feels the best. Any thoughts?

Curado 100D vs. Revo Premier
The premier should work great for weigtless items. A senko isn't super light anyway so you should be fine. The wiffled spool and infinity 2 free spooling system will zing a 4 inch senko. I don't have any trouble with mine throwing weightless senkos. I own both reels and both do a great job at throwing weightless stuff. I would use wich ever reel I liked the best if this is what lure you throw the most.

Motorguide trolling motor problem. HELP!
I have a variable speed 24 volt 71lb trolling motor that I like alot but the foot pedal spins the head WAY to freely. If I am in a pond and have the speed set to about a 1/3 of the max the head will rotate around backwards if I take my foot off of the pedal. Any you can forget about taking your foot off in the river. The current will wip it around in no time. The foot pedal is plastic not the nicer metal ones. Any idea of how to stop this. There is no adjustment to tighten this up. The only way that I know how to fix this is to take the pin out of the pedestal and replace it with a bolt of the same size and tigten the nut up some so that the two pieces of plastic rub on one another and slow the rotation down some. Anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions?

how to install pedestal seats in new job boat?
Some bottom plates are designed to stick down into the floor/aluminum seat thus mounting flush across the top. Just flip the plate over were it mounts flush against the floor/aluminum seat and then sticks up. Then just stick the pedestal in that. That is what I did on my jon boat. Works like a charm.

Cabelas Prodigy Reels
I used to own two of them about 3 years ago when they had the magnetic cast control and the flipping switch on them. I liked them a lot. They were pretty good reels. I still have one but now the spool doesn't always want to reengage after a cast. Gramted I never cleaned it in the three years I have owned it but I am not hard on my equipment either. They are not bad reels but they are not quite as good as a Curado etc. in my opinion.

Revo STX -vs- Curado E
I am looking at the E7 high speed model for burning buzz baits and buzz frogs, spinnerbaits, and shallow cranks. I may also do some worming with it. I hope to get to play with them both at the BPS fishing classic. Abu has the free Wiley X sunglasses offer going on and usually you can trade in a reel at the classic and get $30 or so buck off the new reel price. Anymore advice?

Revo STX -vs- Curado E
I know that there has to be a post on this already but I have done about 5 different searches and can't turn up much of anything. Does anyone own both of these reels and could compare them? Both sell for about the same amount and have similar stats. I currently own a Revo Premier and a Curado D 100. Do they compare similarly with these reels? Which do you think is better? Thanks in advance.

2007 Revo Premier -vs- 2008 Revo Premier
Anyone know the difference in the new 2008 Revo Premier and the older models (if there are any differneces). I see posts on EBAY selling the 2008 model for more money and was just wondering.

Anyone seen/used the BPS XPS Finesse Rods?
I own the 6'6 ML and the 6'6 M action and I absolutely love them. I fish a lot of weightless plastics like zoom trick worms and senko style baits. They are awesome for this. They also make great medium to shallow crank bait rods. They are super sensitive and a steal for $70. I have one paired with a Chronarch MG50 and the whole setup is lighter than many peoples reel alone. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. I prefer the medium over the medium light rod.

new curado gear ratio?
According to Tackle Tour they will have the 6:2:1 ratio on the 300E's. Check it out... http://www.tackletour.com/reviewcuradociticapreview09.html

Is reel weight an issue for you?
I can use both the heavier reels and the lighter ones but I find myself always wanting to use the lighter ones. They do make a difference and are more fun to fish in my opinion. I have a chronarch 50mg on a bass pro shops finesse rod. It is crazy light and weighs less than many reels alone.

Bass Pro tournay reel
My dad bought one but i haven't heard if he likes it or not. You can't beat the price for the features. They will probably last about a year or two.

Help finding small hooks for bream fishing.
Catt, Those might work. However, I would love to find some small in-line hooks to give a try.

Help finding small hooks for bream fishing.
skillet, Exactly, they always bite the back of the worm. That is why I wanted a small hook and a 2 or three inch bait, hoping that they will bite all the lure and not just the rear.

Help finding small hooks for bream fishing.
I fish in the river alot and bream love to bite at the tail of a senko or trick worm. This got me to thinking. I want to find a small in-line hook to rig a small worm on to specifically target bream. I have found the size 1 EWG Gamakatsu worm hooks but they are still too big. Anyone know of a smaller hook that I could use with small soft plastics? Thanks in advance.

soft plastics in river
I fish a small river in Ga. frequently. Here is what I have found. Current is the key. Most bass seem to hide in current breaks caused by logs, rocks, etc. I guess they are waithing there for something to float by that they can eat. I cast beyond the structure and let the current pull the bait past the current break and have lots of successs. I prefer a texas rigged Zoom finesse worm with enough weight to maintain bottom contact. In slow moving areas I cast weightless trick worms and Senkos to shaded areas, especially the deeper banks and let them sink, twitch them a few times and let them sink. Works great around here for large mouth bass. Not sure how it will translate in Wisconsin. Good luck.

Pinnacle Solene
I have an old Pinnacle Scion reel with a magnesium frame and I LOVE it. Maybe their more expensive reels are still good.

Super line/braid on a baitcaster
I just purchased some PowerPro 20lb braid. I tried braid a few years back and hated it. However, I am loving it now. It casts as far or further than mono, doesn't stretch which equals more sensitivity, and doesn't build memory. I was having a hard time setting the hook on far casts with mono on my medium light rod. The braid fixed that. I can still cast weightless plastics a mile with the medium light rod but now I can hook them every time due to the low stretch.

How about that Daiwa Fuego?
I think the Diawa Sol is more designed for light baits. It also weighs a tad less. I personally have never fished one so keep that in mind. However, I was looking in the BPS catalog the other day and noticed that the current Curado 100D weighs 7.4 oz just like the Sol (7.6 for the Fuego) and sells for less money. I do have the Curado 100D and it is a very nice reel. If you could pick one of those up for around $150 (they were just on sale with rebate for a total of $150) then that may be the way to go. Both I am sure are absolutely awesome reels.

chatterbait-ika???
How do you guys fish your chatterbaits. I have one and just fish it like a crankbait with a steady retrieve. Anyone jig one?

fishing a new pond
Most of the ponds I fish are as you described. I kill fish on a texas rigged weightless Zoom trick worm on a 3/0 Gamakatsu Superline hook. Senkos work great to. They sink slow and horizontally and rest on top of the moss. If the moss goes all the way to the surface and is almost everywhere just throw these in holes in the moss. If the moss is all the way to the surface and sporadic you can throw to the moss mats and fish them as if they were stumps or other types of cover. The bass will hide under them to avoid the sun when it gets really hot.

curado bashing
I have the 100D and after the rebate I think it is a good deal at $150. It is the same size and has the same feel as the 50 MG, just a little heavier. I consider it a great mid-weight reel for $150.

Bedding Bass in small rivers
I fish a small river (50 yards wide max). I noticed last year around late June, once the river dropped, that there were beds behind lay down logs in the main run of the river. I did not see any beds in the small lakes or areas of dead water. If you fish similar waters, what is your experience with where bass bed.
