  1. If you watch his show, it always looks like he is on the same body of water with nobody else ever in sight. Never see him catch small fish on anything. Wish I had a place like that to fish. :'( Back to the lure. Great action but haven't had greatest luck with it, even when they first came out years ago as Dances eel. I still have a couple of the first incarnations.
  2. I use 5/0 ewg hooks on 4 1/2" baits and 6/0 on 5" with 1/8 rubbercore sinkers with rubber removed. BPS makes crimp on weights but I havent tried them yet. Screw in hooks tend to ruin the bait and the baits ain't cheap.
  3. One of the fish catchinest baits out there. Twitch on top or let sink and start working it. It won't let you down. A lot of copies out here. Don't forget Slug-Go's and my favorite, the Z-Too. BPS makes a decent copy and at 20 for 3.29, not a bad deal!
  4. This is why most of us carry around $500.00 worth of plastics. Be it fall rate, action, color, one will outproduce the rest on any given day. The trick is to find the "one"
  5. If you have any more of these left, send them to me, don't toss away! They are dynamite up here in the clear weed filled lakes. Soft jerkbaits also. Send me P.M and we'll work something out. My least favorite are $30.00 cranks when $5.00 Bombers and Strike King catch just as many fish.
  6. I use them for every thing but platics and jigs. Never had one open. I use Sampo. Makes chaning lures a snap ;D Stay awy from BPS brand, eagle claw or other cheaper brands. Make sure to re-tie just as often as if not using them. I use the size 52 on my frog/buzzbait rod and have hauled several 6+ pounders out of the thickest stuff carrying 5 pounds of weeds without a problem
  7. Switched from pitching and skipping tubes to senkos around and under docks and boats and doubled my catch. Go to bait was Z-Too in Baby Bass. Caught several hawgs in spring on t-rigged Strike King lizard, Pumpkin/Chart. tail. Started fishing frogs everywhere (not just heavy slop) and they produced. Unlike some other posts, I did great with 4.5" Shadalicious swimbait. Some hits nearly pulled the rod out of my hands Buzz baits, spinnerbaits not so hot this year. Lizard outfished baby brushhog which surprized me.
  8. 5" Senko. Anywhere, anytime
  9. I bought a Bill Dance bag from Bass Pro catalog for $29.99. It came with 6 370's. No longer for sale. Must have been a one time shot. Only negative is boxes fit in bag the long way and any plastics push to the bottom of the compartment and tend to bend or kink. Am looking for 370 size boxes with compartments going front to back. Replaced my BPS exteme 370 that served me well for 10 years.
  10. Try a fluke or Z-Too. Can be fished like a spook but at different depth ranges. Paddle tail worms work good for fast wormin in cover.
  11. Broke down and bought 2 bags of SwimSenkos. Not much action. Maybe I got duds. Megabait Charlie is right around 1/2 OZ. Like Wayne P. said, any of the plastic swimbaits, hollow or solid, can be rigged with weight of your choice. Storm makes a bunch of different styles but quality is hit or miss.
  12. You weren't in the tub with it, were you? ;D Great bait at great price from T.W.
  13. This bait is made by Snagproof and is also one of my favorites. Scumfrogs are softer and tend to pick up more trash but give good hookups. Boze and Spro are also same size but a bit heavier.
  14. The Dick's here in Niles, IL has a great selection, but no sale. Must be by store or region. Or a cruel hoax.
  15. I use a Rapala digital that weighs and stores up to 6 fish. Good if you need to cull. Very accurite. 10lb barbell weighed in at 10 lbs.
  16. 5" Senkos Your favorite spinnerbait(s) Good selection of Jigs/Trailers Topwater Frogs Plastic Worms (Finesse and Basic) Rattlebait Topwater Poppers and Walkers. Shallow, Mid, and Deep Cranks. Colors and styles are your personal preference.
  17. Good observation! I'll stick to my trusty Crazy Shad or War Horse. Or Torpedo

I have a hard time buying any other brand these work so well and they are priced right too!
  19. Look closely at the Bass Magic and Shadalicious. They are identical right down to the packaging. I have used them both with great luck especially the 4.5" size. I have a few Shadalicious that I have caught 20 bass on. I just superglue the tears together and re-rig and go! I always boil these baits for about 30 seconds as it makes them softer and gets rid of some of the smell.
  20. Only buzzers I use. I like the Strike King and still have some old Roland Martin double buzzers which I think are the best ever made. Hartbeaters still avaliable if you look hard. Will probably cry when I run out of them. Got a couple of Leverage baits off EBAY a little while back and both blades spin the same direction so you can run then into cover like single blades but retreive them slower and create more fuss if needed.
  21. Try a dab of superglue where the tube meets the head of the bait.

"Only" 5 lbs? Illegal where I fish but I get 6" Golden Roaches and catch some pigs the same way.
  23. Have caught more and bigger fish on double vs. single. Starting to run out of Roland Martin double buzzers but Strike King double is great too.
  24. Fat Free Shad or Strike King Series baits.
  25. For hollow bodies I like the Bobby's Perfect, Scumfrog Trophy and Scumfrog Bigfoot. Solids, I have had good luck with Ghost Baits handpours and floating Ribbits. Z-Man makes a good solid out of elaztech which is indestructible.
