  1. Didn't we just go through this? I like it and use it.
  2. To each his own. 4" Chigger craw is my # 1 trailer. Pinch some off for more compact bait. Great action and fish don't spit out Power Baits. Tried Pacas and they seem to tear up pretty easy. Great action though! Get a bag of Chiggers, Pacas and Rage Craws and make your own choice. Send me whichever ones you don't like. ;D
  3. Don't forget about "Shrinkage" ;D
  4. All good posts. Use what you have confidence in and your results will be fine because you will tend to concentrate more and not change as often. Remember. fish aren't all that bright. Location and presentation are as important as color, if not more so!
  5. Redeye Shad in Chrome Sexy Shad. Have not used anything else since trying these.
  6. Can't go wrong with either. I think Quantum will cast a bit further and Revo is beefier. Buy both and send me the loser.
  7. 1) 5" Senko style bait (your favorite brand). 2) Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog. 3) Strike King Z-Too. 4) Wolly Hawg Tail/Baby Brush Hog (Tossup). 5) 4.5" Bass Magic/Shadalicious Swimmbait.
  8. Do Not Let Them Freeze!!

    Try a weedless Jitterbug.
  10. A lot of the Walleye guys around here swear by them but can't say too many Bass guys use them, myself included.
  11. Agree Vanish is garbage. Lost what might have been my P.B when it broke for no reason other than to p*ss me off! Never again. It's becoming apparent you get what you pay for.
  12. Spro BBZ1 4" and Tru Tungsten 4" should work good up east. I've had very good luck with Bass Magic / Shadalicious 4.5" soft paddle tails as well.
  13. BPS double tail Cajun Trailer, or single curl tail grub. In clear water, match color to skirt, in stained or dark water add some contrast.
  14. Too late? If not count me in anytime after April 1. It won't work too good for Ice Fishing!
  15. Are you sponsored by Fort Knox by any chance? ;D
  16. Has anyone tried Vicious fluorocarbon? I've tried most brands but not this. So far the best I have used is Sunline's FC Sniper. But for what this costs for 100 yds, you can get 800 yds of Vicious. Any reviews? I really like Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultrasoft also but can only find it at Cabelas and they never have it in the store.
  17. Diameter for diameter, Mono will outcast braid. Lb. for lb., braid will outcast mono. Confused yet? Let the application be your guide. Ex. for froggin, 50-65 lb. powerpro can't be beat. Make sure you research and tie good knots. I use the Palomar and haven't had one slip. X2 on the backing before spooling braid. Will save you some cash and stop slippage on spool. I use Braid on spinning gear but always attach a flouro leader- Uni to uni. Don't give up on mono. For long casting cranks in clear water it is still the best choice. Just enough stretch. Flouro doesn't cast as well and you could yank the bait away from the fish on the hookset due to less stretch.
  18. I bought some when it was on sale with a rebate. Never fond of Fireline but price was right. Same results- Not the best, not the worst. Forget about it being clear and disappearing under water. It is more of an opaque white. Was very disappointed in this aspect. Power Pro moss green is probably less visible.
  19. Not sure about what you're looking for but the Stingray Grug had a single tail shaped like what you describe and was made by Manns. Probably no help.
  20. Spinning gear is coming back into vogue. I have always used it. A few simple tips will make their use less frustrating. 1) Manually close the bail as this will eliminate loops which lead to snarls. 2) Backreel when possible as pulling out drag leads to twist. 3) Choose a reel with a smooth drag system and match it to a balanced rod with matching line size. Don't use 6lb line on a 7 foot heavy action rod or use 20 lb line on a lighter action rod for splitshotting etc. 4) Get over the stigma that spinning outfits are for wimps. There are too many benefits not to use spinning gear.
  21. Neither claims to be a real lube or protectant. Reel Magic is more like WD-40 and will give your reel a degree of protection. KVD is more for line conditioning and I have found it does a better job for this purpose, especially on flourocarbons which can be stiff. Also, there is no residue as with Reel Magic which does leave a very slight amount. The best solution IMO is regular maintainance. Cleaning, oiling, greasing etc. where shown in instructions. You cannot expect one product to do it all. Then at years end, if you are handy, break down all your reels and clean and oil them correctly. I have a Diawa SM2A Baitcaster that I love and it has lasted me 30 years doing this. Also have several older Ambassedeurs and Millionaires that still work flawlessly. That being said, the bait monkeys cousin- the tackle monkey, still gets me for a reel or 2 every year. :-/

Looks just like some bluegills I have caught. Probably be great bed/springtime bait or for throwing around docks and shallow trees. For that price I would take the wife out for a nice dinner and hope for the best!!!
  23. I wasn't kidding. Completely. I snorkel in my home lake all the time and always find lures hung in anchor chains, pier posts, trees etc. Plus I can find which docks or boats are holding the bass. Getting them to bite is another story.
  24. I do pretty good with Strike Kings Pure Poison. Spring thru fall. They actually come thru weeds better than a spinnerbait- a quick yank and they are clean. Great for clear weedy water where all fish see are spinnerbaits. For me the "craze" will never end, maybe just slow a bit like all the others.
