If you happen to get one with Bill Dance's signature on it make sure you white it out. If the fish see it, they won't bite! ;D
  2. Make sure they are dry before putting them away. Same goes for all baits. Some paint still melts when it comes in contact with certain plastics but mostly that has been overcome.
  3. Uncle Leo, Triton21 and Myself will do our best to represent our state at Kentucky Lake. If nothing else we'll have the best jokes to tell with our Governor as the punch line!
  4. He couldn't have. There's no Chatter blade attached! ;D For $8.00 does it come with a bowl of soup?

RW read my mind. Throw in a few Brush Hogs and Fluke style baits and you should be covered top to bottom. Ika is definitley going to see more game time with me.
  6. Check BPS clearance/ sale section. Both the Extreme reel and the Extreme rod (which is better than the Bionic Blade IMO) are on sale for less then the package price. I think BPS rods are one of the best values out there and cust. service is second to none. I stepped on a rod 6 months after buying it and they replace it no questions asked. I also own 2 Extreme reels and have not had any problems. If you can afford the Shimano, go for it but if there is a BPS near you pick each one up and see how they feel. No question Shimanos are superior but the gap isn't what it used to be.
  7. You're probably right but I like the extra casting distance and muscle with heavier line when needed. I use 50-75 yards of old line for backing. I also balance all my rods using rubber chair bottoms with washers inside. BPS sells them but Home Depot has same thing for 1/2 the price. My setups feel weightless when casting. I just feel safer with a larger reel. I fish alot of brutal cover like zebra mussel encrusted docks and weeds so thick you can walk across them. Have 2 Spirex 4000's and love them! 300 yd. filler spool fills both.
  8. Nope. "matching the hatch" is always a good place to start, but as always don't be afraid to throw a changeup. There are days you will never have to switch and days you will be switching every hour. I tend to switch alot no matter what. Probably just to assure myself i didn't spend all that money on baits for nothing.
  9. I'd stick with the medium, 6'6" 3000-4000 series spinning and 8-10lb. line. If you like weightless lizards, try Gamblers Loco-Lizrd. Heavier than most for weightless casting and looks and works awesome. A good topwater/ slop option.
  10. The trend seems to be to go with 80 lb Flouro. Every musky show I've seen lately, the guys have been using Flouro. Has anyone else seen Bob Mehsekomer's Simply Fishing? That's one guy I would throw out of the boat if I fished with. Talk about a pompous, condescending A**. Bob Izumi is the flipside. Always joking but never ordering his partner around. Sorry to get off topic but I just can't stand Mehsekomer.
  11. I think this show was half salmon and half bass fishing. I don't think the weather was very good and the fishing was even worst. If I'm not mistaken, Glenn was there and Iaconelli actually used his boat to fish for bass. Glenn would be the one to answer that one. Glenn- I give you credit. Ike seems to be pretty tough on equipment! ;D
  12. Love it also. Nothing beats Ike going Ike! Loved the Chicago show. (My hometown) I thought after the Classic was held here there would be more attention. Can relate to the freakin Zebra Mussels. >
  13. Mail all your excess to me. I'll send you my address 8-)
  14. I thought I saw Governor SpeedBead on the list.
  15. Agree that you should check with homeowners assoc. Every location is different. I own lakefront property and it extends 100 feet out into the lake. However in a boat you should be able to go wherever you want, provided you are not trespassing when putting in. It never hurts to knock on doors and ask also. Made some friends and found some great spots that way!

Bombers are one of the best lower end baits made. (under $10.00) Can't go wrong with anything in their line.
  17. Look at the Daiwa Regal XiA 2000 or 2500. 11 bearings, smooth a silk, $59.99. I have the 3500 and love it. wouldn't trade it for anything. Lot of bang for the buck.
  18. Looks awesome. Couldn't pass it up. I've liked the double bladed buzzers ever since the Roland Martin double buzzer hit the market. Used Hart, Strike King, but this looks much better!
  19. Now this is matted! In your Pic it looks like SOP for up here. Try a wacky rigged senko. Let it fall and if it stops, its a fish or give it a tug and it will keep falling. Tedious but it pays off. In the thick stuff try punching jigs or click on RW's link. Grass is the main structure in my neck of the woods.

Didn't Mister Twister make a leech similar to that?
  21. Thought this might attract some ladies to the forum. You guys are all too ugly. ;D
  22. I'm in!. The crawlers are for catfishin or carpin if the basses turn off.
  23. Guys- Check this out. Just got back from My local Dicks and although the baitmonkey got me, I actually feel good! Strike King Cranks 5 and 6 were $3.29, Not $4.29 like everywhere else. Bandits were $4.59 , not $4.79-$5.29. Norman Professional Edge DD14 and DD22 were $4.49, Not $5.29. I got a Booyah Bi-You Buzzbait for $3.99 not $9.99. Ragetail Craws were $4.99, not $5.49. Today is a good day.
  24. Give the Strike King 3X finesse worm a shot also. Has it all and lasts forever.
  25. The only problem I had was I ended up $150.00 lighter.
