  1. 1) Witness the Cubs winning a World Series. 2) See above.
  2. G3 makes an excellent point. Some reels list lb. test and dia. capacity. All thing being equal, you might lose some casting distance but gain some strength. Spool it with the lb. test suited for the conditions you will be using it for and have fun!
  3. Haven't tried Sufix. For the same price or less you can get the Hybrid. Been using it a few years with no trouble. Ultrasoft for spinning. Stay with the Sufix for topwater though.
  4. I'm sure you'll be hearing from the Shimano guys on this!
  5. I saw that somewhere also. I picked up some Sunline FC Sniper on Ebay and it is the best I've used. Very expensive retail though. Berkley 100% and BPS XPS both good choices. I think Berkley has a rebate going and BPS has theirs on sale.

I like to fish them anywhere you can't throw a rattlebait like over and thru heavy weeds. pads etc. Pure Poison my choice. When a fish hits, you definitely know it.
  7. Consider yourself lucky (and short ;D) One of the all time greats.
  8. Black Sabbath : Paranoid The Doors : LA Woman Judas Priest : Point Of Entry Rolling Stones : Sticky Fingers Jethro Tull : Aqualung The Who : Who's Next Metallica, Megadeth, Motorhead : any
  9. On the lighter side- "Wang, what's with all the pictures? It's a parking lot!" Rodney Dangerfield Caddyshack ;D
  10. X2. I only have about 20 bags left.
  11. Just set DVR. Thanks for the reminder. Missed it last time around.
  12. Do not touch screws. Push in and hold in button wand rotate side plate up and it will come off. Remove spool and wipe shaft clean. Remove spool tension knob and clean and dry disc inside. 1 drop of good reel oil on each spool bearing is all you want. Dab of lube on levelwind gearshaft next. Mine has a removable window below the handle ta access the gears for easy lube. A little good gear lube and you should be good to go.
  13. Try Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultrasoft for light test spinning. Cabela's sells it for a pretty reasonable price. Good old Trilene XL is good choice if not too much cover like rocks etc.
  14. Probably going to hit it later today. Our pros up here (Chicago) are going to be 4 walleye guys. Guess they should re-name it Walleye Pro Shops. I remember waiting to meet Jimmy Houston here a few years ago. Big disappointment this year. :-[
  15. Check the poll on spinnerbaits. Good quality bearing is a must. I love the new "perfect skirts". How many times have you thrown your spinnerbait and the skirt came apart or off. I put a small wiretie on all of the older style skirts now. Good quality hook a must. I like Strike King Premiers. BPS Tornado is also one of my favorites. They are bulletproof.

Don't skimp on hooks. Line either. Out of that 20, you might tie one on and it breaks on your biggest fish. No knock on BPS hooks, I would just recommend staying with Gammy or Owner or Mustad. (VMC?) JMHO
  17. Have you tried them? I like the fins shielding the hookpoint.

And don't forget the free stickers!! ;D ;D
  19. Get good with both. Practice!! Can't beat 7.1-1 baitcaster for buzzin' and likewise tough to beat spinning with 6lb line for shakin' or finesse.
  20. Maybe I got a couple of good spools but used 12 and 15 lb. last year with no problems. Actually performed quite well. Prefer Yo-Zuri Hybrid though. Better value.
  21. I hate you with a capital H!!!!!! :D
  22. Yes we do. It is called "Northeast Bass Fishing." ;D Watch it. Our numbers are growing and we're reruiting new members all the time!
  23. T-rig a Strike King Z-Too weightless and throw it around dense cover or to rising fish. Can't beat this type bait for all around effectiveness.
  24. I'll show you how its done at Kentucky Lake with a Curado. ;D ;D ;D If I remember correctly, Kentucky lake has mostly floating docks. Not much to actually skip under. I could be wrong cause I didn't see too much of the lake. 8-) If you can skip something 25 feet under a dock, I'll buy you dinner. Wait, I already am cause your driving!
  25. Send it and all the other you own to me. I'll fix and maybe return. Seriously, Strike King baits seem to have a problem with the internal rattles getting stuck to the sides of their baits inside. I contacted their customer service dept and they said there is occasionally a problem with the internal rattles. Give the bait a few good raps on a table or something hard (I used my head) and it just might fix the problem. Fixed 2 of my Sexy Shad cranks that way. Wrap bait in washrag or towel before you whack it to prevent damage. This is true for any brand bait that doesn't sound like you think it should. Harder to tell with rattle style bait though.
