  1. Strike King used to make a bait called the Pork-O and I did pretty good with it also. Don't know if they are still made.
  2. Wacky rigged senko or shakey head worm slowly dropped along any irregularities along a deep break, preferably with weeds present. Start at inside and outside turns and points.
  3. These were on sale/clearance at Dick's for $79.99 and had a $10.00 coupon. By the time I got there they were gone. Keep checking E-Bay
  4. X2 This will cause the weights to stick in the out position and they should float freely in and out according to spool speed and setting.
  5. Have 2 Extremes and 1 Rick Clunn reels and several rods, from Tourney Special up to Extreme. Never a problem with any. Extreme's on sale for $59.99- New model, not last years. I will probably have 3 very shortly.
  6. Chompers Garlic. Some of my stuff still smells from last year!
  7. If you have room, bring whatever you can carry. You'll never have to ask yourself " should I have brought this or that " Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!
  8. I've been a loyal subscriber to In-Fisherman for as long as I can remember. Their slogan was F+L+P=Success Fish+Location+Presentation=Success. No mention of color. The Lindners were true pioneers of our sport.
  9. I have had great luck with both the Lucky Strike Bass Magic and Strike King Shadalicious (Same exact bait.) I use the 4.5" and either a weighted or unweighted 5/0 or 6/0 ewg hook. I don't use the screw in hooks as they tend to tear up the nose pretty quick. I've found they last pretty good and a tube of superglue never hurts.
  10. I use the rubber protectors you put on chair legs to keep them from sliding and damaging your floor. They come in 2 sizes, 1" an 1.250" inside diameter and are available at any hardware store. Insert the proper amount of standard washers to achieve desired balance and slip on butt of rod and secure with electrical tape. Might not look that great but cheap and works just as good.
  11. For my money, this is still the best slow working surface bait out there. http://www.muskyshop.com/modules/cart/products.php/nav_id/26/page/1/id/755/name/MouldysLittleHawgWobbler
  12. Just got Back. Bought 6 XR50's and 4 Storm Square Bass cranks. All listed for $6.99 each and had to argue some at checkout but got them all for $2.50 each. Like I needed them anyway. Gammie hooks 30% off.
  13. Check Tackle Warehouse often. They have Shadalicious on sale for $3.99 every now and then. Dicks has them for $4.99 now. Just got back.
  14. Sampo Duolock snaps for cranks. Speedclips good alternative but I like the black snaps. JMHO.
  15. Glenn- I've got your back. We might put up with crooked politicians in Illinois but not that kind of cr*p. Like Al Bundy, I played high school football. I've also seen your height compared to Bill Dance. ;D
  16. Mine was wicked tight at first, but after I slid it back and forth once, it was good. I have another question; I looked online and couldn't find anything to reference it. In the center of the reel handle there is a slotted adjuster that I am not familiar with....what's it for? finer adjustment of the mag brake? This is a line reminder to tell you what test is on the reel. Does not affect performanve in any way.
  17. Clean water-Pop-R or Buzzbait. Slop- Snagproof Bobbys Frog.
  18. Think about it. If it didn't work, nobody would be copying it, would they? The commercials will sell a bunch initially but for the craze to last this long and everybody else jumping on the bandwagon, it must work. If you don't like the name, don't buy any. JMHO.
  19. Who you calling an old fart. I resemble that remark!
  20. Mine was wicked tight at first, but after I slid it back and forth once, it was good. I have another question; I looked online and couldn't find anything to reference it. In the center of the reel handle there is a slotted adjuster that I am not familiar with....what's it for? finer adjustment of the mag brake? I have no idea either what the numbers on the crank are but this reel has no magnets in it. It is strictly centrifugal braking. Contact Quantum and they should be able to explain.
  21. You are 100% correct. Send all the junk you don't need to me and I will see to it that it is disposed of properly.
  22. Always try to keep your rod at right angles to the fish and keep tension on it. If your rod is pointed at the fish, you're dropping your odds of landing it, especially if it runs toward you. If you like watching the fight, let 'em jump. Be prepared to lose a bunch as that's when they will throw the hook. I keep the rod down to discourage this. Some will jump no matter what you do though. Losing fish is part of the game but you should be able to improve your odds. Sharp hooks will make a smaller hole in the fishes mouth preventing the hook(s) from working their way out.
  23. Did you sign a pre-nup? Be a shame to lose all that for some indiscretion or whatever on either part.
  24. Looks like my garage but a saltwater version. ;D Ask my wife if you can't have too much tackle. Just make sure I'm not around.

D**n- I was ready to get back in the market but who do you listen to. I lost 1/3 of my 401K before putting it in bonds at 2%. Ain't gonna be able to retire on that. I'm still afraid this is just feel good reaction to some good news which by the way is not suppressed, it's just been few and far between. Pres seems to talking more positive these days now that all his bills have past. Maybe if he was more positive from the beginning... People need to hear the good news as well as the bad, even more so as that is what will invoke confidence and spending and investing again. Take me. I just spent $300.00 at BPS on stuff I don't need. What recession?
