  1. If that ever happens the poor guy will be banned for life! ;D Also, If I recall there were a few slips available which Uncle Leo and myself took advantage of and it worked out great. Not very expensive either. CJ - how can you possibly think about taking blame. All your tips leading up to and during the trip helped everyone. Do wish I could have met Alpster. Sounds like one h*ll of a guy.
  2. I think Don had hair before he met JJ. ;D
  3. Seems my secret bait isn't so secret! To get it to walk the dog on the surface, rig it with a slight banana shape. It will come to the top and drive fish nuts!
  4. From Kentucky Lake Roadtrip.
  5. My home lake had a huge expanse of bullrushes poisoned last year by a group of homeowners even though it is against local law to remove emergent vegetation. I almost cried when I pulled up to find a bare bottom where there used to be a goldmine of bass habitat. Used to be my never fail spot. :'(
  6. Too much good stuff to list. Rage tails. Can't go wrong.
  7. I've seen that a couple of times with small pike but never pulled out a live 'gill. Sure it wasn't a small Musky Russ? ;D ;D
  8. Only if it's Heavy Metal. Gets fish angry and they hit anything in sight.
  9. Bobby- If you need a fieldtester in the Midwest, I'm your man! Can't wait to see them.
  10. Please give a review of the bait. Calling it "Junk" is pretty vague. Does it not run true? Are the colors no good? Does the action stink? Do they fall apart? Please be specific. There seem to be some of us on the fence on this bait.

I think the Rage Baits are great! Are they expensive? Yes. Do they catch fish? Yes. Not a lizard out there with better action. Look close at the appendages, there is a ridge running along the top and bottom of each causing a totally different swimming action than any other bait. Check out You Tube and type in Rage Craw and you will see the difference. Pricey? Yes but with attention to detail and packaging, you don't get any deformed baits as with every other company.
  12. I use the chair tips also and put the correct amount of washers inside to achieve balance, then tape it on with electrical tape. Works great.
  13. X2. Most of my reels are burners. I don't buy into the slow gear ratio for crankbaits. Just slow down your retrieve. Speed is there when you need it. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
  14. These are great worms. I find they work best with the barbed style of head: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98304____SearchResults Screwlock would probably work too.
  15. Have you tried these? Colors beat Tru-Tungsten and Spro hands down. What makes you think they are junk.
  16. I bought 3 of these a while back and they were not the best baits initially. Very thin bodies and legs didn't have great action. Sent them back to Southern Lure and the replacements are super! Maybe first run was bad. Bought some of the snagproof paddlefoot frogs and can't wait to use them.
  17. You had to go and put this link on here. Now I'm going to have to get one. Too good a price to pass up.
  18. You can usually tell when carp are spawning. They aren't too subtle. Splashing and stirring things up. However, bass seem to notice this and clean up whatever the carp stir up. Don'T be afraid to fish an area where you see carp thrashing about. There will most likely be some bass in the area.
  19. I've had aquariums all my life. I've also put just about everything that swims in one. If you want to go with non-tropical fish, I would suggest small Bluegills and Perch. Bass will grow too fast and will get very expensive to feed. Not too high of a survival rate either. Get some large roaches at the bait shop as well. I would recommend a tank of 100 gallons. Believe it or not, the bigger the tank, the easier it is to maintain. My son has some minnows in his turtle tank that are going on 2 years old. Small bullheads are cool but if they get too big they will eat everything in the tank.
  20. I think most people that have tried them have had success with them. Zoom Trick worms will float with the right hook. Strike Kings 3x baits float except the Zero and Z-Too. Good option when you want to twitch a worm over grass or want your bait to stand up on the bottom.
  21. X2 Just put them in a new bag and squirt some of whatever scent you have in the bag and close it. Put the Megastrike on prior to use. If this still doesn't work, send them to me and I will dispose of properly. ;D
  22. I use them on Strike Kings Shakey heads where you rig them almost Texas style and have had great luck. If you use them on the heads where you push them onto a barb, they don't work as well unless you push them way past the barbs and hold them there for a bit. These are the least effective heads anyway IMHO. I do not use the screwlock on anything as they are a pain and the bait doesn't always rig straight. Great baits, just takes some experimenting. http://www.***.com/descpageTERMSTRIKE-SKTSH.html Use this style head and you will be O.K.
  23. Judging by your picture you look like a decent sized guy so I'm guessing you're hitten 'em hard enough. 3/8 oz isn't really that big. Sometimes that's just the way it is in cold water. Lighter bites not getting the whole bait. After the hookset keep up the pressure and hit em a second time. Might help.
  24. Will it affect the paint in any way? Sounds great. Thanks.
  25. Toss out a marker when you pass over something interesting. Then anchor off it and cast all around it. Not the best idea to plop in an anchor right where you want to fish anyway.
