  1. Welcome to the club!
  2. I got 4 of them on Ebay for 2 bucks each. I think they are a great smaller swimbait. Throw them over weedtops or other shallow cover. Fish anywhere you would fish a jerkbait also.
  3. These are great baits but a little flimsy. Fantastic action. As they are hollow, the might have a tendency to float. I've been using the Rage Craw more and more and liking it more and more.
  4. All the 3X float except for the Zero.
  5. Strike King 4S or Mann's Elite C-4. For smaller I like Strike King Series 1 or Bagleys Balsa B2.
  6. Why not target the Carp or Catfish? For carp, chum an area where you have seen them with corn and then throw a nightcrawler in the middle of the spot. Carp will fight harder than a bass of the same size. For bass, try a 4" senko near any cover or weedlines if present. If none, walk the bank and work an entire area starting from parallel to the bank on one side to all the way around to parallel the bank on your other side in 10 degree increments. Then move 2 cast lengths and repeat.
  7. Probably will be O.K. but who can say. Even fish hooked in the lip and released right away can die. Part of the game.
  8. How do you tell if it's a dink or a hawg unless you are sight fishing? Rod speed is the key. Upward and sideways motion work for me. I don't let them have it too long. Reel up slack and swing!
  9. Got out this weekend. Temps were 56-58. Started to see a few beds. Caught alot of good males and 2 real nice girls. Agree with FFD. Some parts of lake will warm faster and bigger fish tend to spawn deeper up here.
  10. There is another site (local) that always has posts on the Lagoons. I remember fishing there as a kid and getting 100 bullheads a day. There is a guy that seems to do pretty well with beetle spins. In other words keep it small. I will P.M. a link to other site.
  11. How big are you? Looks to be pretty good size but picture is too small.
  12. X2 When in doubt, rip it!. If it's a weed, alot of times this will cause a following fish to hit. If it's a fish, he's on.
  13. CWB replied to frogtog's topic in Everything Else
Don't quit your day job. ;D
  14. My neighbor has 2 of those older style stick-steering bassboats and swears by them, not at them. Not sure I'd want to be out in one in 2-3 footers but I have fished with him a couple of times and in calm water it handles well. Old School.
  15. Vary the retrieve-stop it, speed it up, jerk it etc. If you need to, swap out the hooks for high quality replacements. Have read about shaving the bill but haven't tried. Too afraid to ruin an expensive bait.
  16. Nice fish. Well worth the effort. Don't be surprised if a thread pops up disputing the weight like the world record bass thread due to picture quality. ;D
  17. Rage tails rock! Hey Big-O. when is that top secret new bait hitting the market? Hats do look familiar.
  18. Great trip. Great fish. Great pix. Even looks like great weather. What more can you ask for!!!
  19. Yes, except she can't take a straight photo to save her life. Give her a break, She married you, didn't she? ;D Great to see the Cubs hat but maybe it jinxed you.
  20. X2 I would switch 2 and 1. keep rod in water top prevent fish from jumping. If they jump and spit the bait out of netting range a net won't help much.
  21. What ? NO SENKO ?!?!?!?!?! Nope, I do have senkos, hundreds of them, I seldomly touch them. Hey Raul- I'll be happy to help you free up some space and take those senkos you don't use off your hands. P.M. me If you are like most of us you always have to at least try the hot new bait in every color under the sun and then they are permanently added to your collection. My rule is if it hasn't seen the water in 2 years, it goes on ebay unless it has some sentimental value. You guessed it. Very little goes on ebay.
  22. Pick up the smallest plastic wire ties you can at you local hardware store and cinch around the skirt before even using it.
  23. Strike King Tour Grade football, texas craw, Rage Craw trailer.
