Jitterbug Retrieve
One of my top night baits. Slow and steady until something attacks it. Then adjust retrieve accordingly until he's in the boat. ;D Don't use during the day much.

Solo or group fishing -- your preference
I like both as well. Benefits of going alone are there is no one to blame anything on but yourself. You can't blame your partner for making a bad cast and spooking a lunker you might both see or constantly getting hung up wasting your time to undo him. Flipside is when you are alone there is no one to share the moment with when you do get a good one or to take a picture for you. Also comradery is priceless.

carp in my Northern Michigan lake?
Chances are pretty good that if there's water, there's carp in it.

Lizards on Jigs?
Your imagination should be the only limit to what you can put on a jig. Sometimes thinking outside the box is the answer.

Adjust while fishing?
I find it hard to believe anyone that says they have never been broken off. Never broken off due to drag is another story. I've had plenty fish wrap me around dock posts, get stuck in stumps or bury in weeds and break off but again, this is not the fault of the drag, just an ornery fish.

Adjust while fishing?
Agree with all the posts. Set drag prior to making a cast. I don't understand what the poll is looking for. Drag on or Drag off? If your drag is off you won't have the ability to hook a fish without it slipping.

People and their boat docks.
Thats a good way to get your butt kicked around here... X2 That's the worst way you can react. Just ignore them and keep on going. You would understand a little better if you've ever pulled a lure out of your boat cover or out of the carpeting etc. It's not hard to see why people get angry. Last year my neighbor was taking his dock out for the winter and got a crankbait stuck in his hand that was snagged under his dock. P.S. I hate granola and ain't no hippie.

One Bait to rule them All??? -guess not
My guess is that pretty soon you'll be lugging around 100 lbs. of stuff like the rest of us.

Spinnerbaits and Trailer hooks
A trailer hook may not always help but it can never hurt. I always use them. If fish shakes primary hook loose, there is always the trailer to nail him. Trailer will hook the nippers and short strikers. They do not hinder the baits action so there really is no reason not to use them IMHO

People and their boat docks.
There are 2 sides to every story. While I don't condone this kind of behavior, I am a property owner on a lake. I can't count the number of times I have removed hooks from my boat cover or stepped on or found baits that were broken off under or around my dock. I've had to undo line from the cables under my pontoon boat and even have found baits snagged in the carpet inside. This tends to make you leery whenever you see someone fishing your dock. When I approach a dock and someone comes out of their house I just keep going. Out of courtesy, I never fish a dock when there are people present. Not worth getting into an argument over.

when is your bass opener?
In ILL. there are some site specific regulations but basically all year. If you have a closed season, check if it is closed for keeping fish or targeting fish. Use a tube and say you're walleye fishing. ;D

Do we need a law for everything?
It's annoying as h*ll and assumes we are idiots when the commercial is louder than the show you are watching. I for one would be for this.

The "P" in P-Line??
So you fish spider silk that measures in around 0.0000001" and has a breaking strength of 50 lbs.? The diameter of PLine CXX isn't all that different from other manufacturers comparable products. PLine CXX 10 lb. - 0.014" Berkley Trilene 100% Flourocarbon 10 lb. - 0.012" Sufix Elite 10 lb. - 0.012" Yo-Zuri Hybrid 10 lb. - 0.012" Silver Thread AN40 10 lb. - 0.011" PLine 10 lb. = anyone else's 20 lb.? :-? If your 20 lb. test is 0.014" in diameter, then it isn't worthy of the rating. Not to ruffle any feathers but a quick search revealed at .014" diameter you can get: 14lb. Trilene XL 14lb. Trilene Sensation 12lb. Trilene XT 12lb. Trilene Big Game. You can pull stumps with this stuff. 12lb. Yo-Zuri Hybrid (.013") 12lb. Suffix Elite 12lb. Suffix Seige. I'm sure there are more examples. At about the same thickness, P-Line CXX does seem either too thick or under rated. 14-15% difference is pretty big. What if your taxes jumped that much... ooops. Won't go there. JMHO.

Centrifugal brake question
Keep in mind oil attracts dirt and dust that will hinder performance. If you clean your reels after every outing this would be O.K., but if your like most of us and don't do it as often as you should, I would omit the oil in the brake area. Will not cause any harm. JMHO.

Whats the story with Dicks only reels?
X2 When I found out the price, I made a beeline for my closest Dick's but they were sold out.

Baitcaster
X2 on the Extreme. I got a Silver Max on ebay for $20.00 but haven't put line on it yet. Planned on using it as a backup. Seems O.K. and have read good reviews.
