  1. I bet with no gravity, you can cast forever! Seriously I doubt they were fishing just anywhere. There probably were scattered rocks and boulders on a particular otherwise featureless flat. Fishing a barren flat or section of bank can work but it will be few and far between. There usually has to be something in the form of structure to break up the monotony and draw the fish. For smallies, that usually means rocks.
  2. I see alot of people fishing for panfish using "musky" size tackle. Softball size bobbers, massive hooks with steel leaders, and whole nightcrawlers. I usually try to show them that if they use a smaller float, enough split shot attached to just keep the float floating, and a size 8, 10 or even 12 hook with a waxworm or piece of nightcrawler they can vastly improve their success. Usually get a beer or two out of it. Some people just say get lost, I know what I'm doing so I leave them alone. Spinning reel mounted to casting rod and used with reel sticking up is always a good one.
  3. First I rummage thru the clearance bins for any treasures. Then I see if there are any giveaways, food included. As a last resort I'll go thru the aisles and see what's available.
  4. As I remember, red is the first color that disappears in the water column. Hence the Cajun Red line that was supposed to be the next big thing in line. Even Powerpro comes in red. That being said, not sure it helps but probably can't hurt either. There must be something to the blood red theory. Fish are animals and target easy meals and if red means something is bleeding and week, it might just be the trigger.
  5. I use my stickers to cover up the rust spots on my pickup.
  6. X2 It's a bonus when what you see are bass. Looking for the balls of bait will help you locate suspending fish. Most of your graph time is looking for structure that should hold fish and then looking for that magic spot on the spot. Search out breaks, points etc and if you see bait fish it! Saw an episode of Angling Edge and Al thought he found the motherload of bass but couldn't get a bite. He sent the aquaview down and found they were carp!
  7. I usually t-rig my senkos weightless and when I can't glue them back together anymore or they are just too chewed up I wacky rig them. More miles per gallon!
  8. I believe by definition a secondary point is a point off the main lake like in the creeks. A main lake point is just that- a point on the main lake. Locating them shouldn't be too difficult if you have a good topo map.

Get a few good hooks and get yourself some of these in different weights and you should be ready to go or change on the fly if necessary. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10201093____SearchResults Weight and retrieve speed or a combination of both will determine running depth.
  10. I work for a machine shop so this is a no-brainer for me. 5/16 or 8MM I.D. rubber O-Rings work great and I haven't had any problems yet. Any good hardware store will have them. Wet bait and O-Ring and slowly slide on from small end until it's centered. Go ahead and use you favorite hook as this rig is inherently weedless but for heavy cover try these: http://www.***.com/descpageHOOKSFALCON-FKUWH.html http://www.***.com/descpage-OWWH.html
  11. Will definitely be trying them this tear. I'm a Redeye Shad guy and will need to be convinced.
  12. That's one of the 30 or so fishing shows I have my DVR set to tape. Glenn- Did they make sure your makeup and hair were just right and did they give you a flat brim Ike hat to wear cocked slightly to one side? ;D Never met Ike but would love too. Not too many guys share his passion.
  13. Just hit the big 50. I can't stand for more than 30 minutes or so and have actually fallen out of the boat leaning over to land fish. (got them both) Climbing back in was no picnic so I installed a ladder. Still set the hook with the best of them but back and knee injuries from football are starting to get more and more nagging. I prefer to sit while fishing when I can and I'm not ashamed or embarrassed- I'm still fishing. Lesson here is it stinks getting old. Enjoy your youth if you still have it! :-[ Not quite ready for Depends yet!
  14. If it doesn't roll over and will stay running true, you can and should try burning it. Might just be what the fish are looking for or not expecting.
  15. Saw Al Lindner using it on Angling Edge show this weekend. Looked awesome. It's niche probably is deep water wacky rigging. Al and James caught a ton of big bass on it and unlike Bill Dance, they do not fish privately owned and managed lakes. You actually see other boats in the picture. I met Al some years ago and although he seems to be a Shimano/Berkley pitchman these days, I still think his show is one of the best and he's one of the best.
  16. Got mine about a month ago. Now if they would only send out the spring fever flyer.......
  17. Share the wealth, dude. $25.00 ;D
  18. Can you have your wife send a message to mine on how to keep her man happy!.
  19. Don't worry. His sleep will be short. It always is. 8-)
  20. I have caught several fish within minutes of being hooked. (not landed) Best was I lost a good one on a sluggo that wrapped me around some reed stalks and broke my line. I retied, put on a new bait and next cast hooked and landed same fish with the first bait still hanging from his face. 4+ lbs. and I got my bait back. I guess this lends credence to 2 theories. 1) Bass don't feel pain in their mouths. If you were hurting from biting a bait and got free, would you bite the same bait again if you were in pain? 2) Bass get conditioned to certain baits. While I do believe this, I believe the more natural a bait appears and acts, the less likely a bass will get conditioned to it. I believe Jigs and plastics that mimic their natural prey will always work while certain spinnerbaits, crankbaits, buzzbaits etc might be rejected except for a reaction strike. See post from sqhertz. I could be wrong.
  21. If like me you already have too many boxes: http://cgi.ebay.com/OKEECHOBEE-FATS-FISHING-TACKLE-BAG-17-X-13-X-10-5-NEW_W0QQitemZ330306529770QQihZ014QQcategoryZ22696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The boxes it comes with aren't too good anyway.

If you only have 3 or 4, just velcro them together. You can get velcro strips anywhere. Always carry them backwards when you are getting to where you are going to be fishing. Won't break any that way.
  23. My opinion is to send them to me and I will try them out and let you know. If I don't lose them, I'll send them back. ;D
  24. Great show with Zona and Jeff Kreit. Both those guys are nuts! Couldn't tell who was having more fun. They panned over to the camera boat and both the guys had KVD masks on. I bet that was Zona's idea.
