Hey guys I just got my first OB motor. So should I run just synthetic in it? It is pritty much brand new i would say less then 10 hours on it. Can I use any 2-stroke synthetic? What do most you guys use for a carb cleaner? I have stabil mixed in my tank now. I heard about Sea Foam but can't find it any were. How often should I use a carb cleaner? Is it ok to always keep Stabil in my fuel?

How is using braid compared to mono? I was thinking about trying braid this year but not sure yet. Is is harder to cast since it lighter and thinner then mono? I am still new to BC and I don't want to spoil the fun I'm having since I've gotten better

Mine is a 12' and weight max is 500lb or 3 persons. I know I am nervous about adding extra weight. So I am just dropping the seats back to the bench. If the boat is nice and stabile I may put in a low floor were most jon boats have a ridge along the the walls to set the sides of the floors.

Hey bro I just got the Garmin 140 portable model. I like it so far. I'm still learning though. It came with a trolling motor mount which I'm not to sure about. But I use the suction cup tranducer mount. Its easy on and off. It also has wide beam and narrow. it takes a supply of like 8 D batteries but I just made a lead to my 12v battery.

Better to be safe the sorry. Just in case keep them in the boat.

I'm having problems with my 12' now b/c the seats are to high. So I am going to take out the petastool.

Hey guys as most know I am think of ways to give my boat more stability. So I heard if you add some weight evenly threw the boat that it will help. Like a deck will give me a lower point of gravity. Has anyone who decked a jon boat noticed this. I am thinking if I put a deck on the boat half the length. Like from the bench that the seat is mounted to running the deck from that to the bow. This would not be a whole lot extra weight and will be in a great location for stability as well. I am woundering what other types of benefits does a deck have other then how quiet it is. I will love to hear and see your exsperience with this thank you

What about what that guy said about having it adjustable for weight changes is that important to have? Say you set it at 2'' off the water would that be good? Do you need it to touch the water at all times?

Yea it was like super slick 2000 I think if you contact them and tell them what you are using it for they will tell you what you need. I think the guys name was Gerry who helped me. The mistake I made when I applied it was I mixed both quarts at once. Don't do that b/c then it started to set up in the bucket. Mix one put on a nice coat watch for drips and run then mix and apply the second coat.

Di he bolt the PVC directly to the boat or did he use a brace to exstend it?

Hey guys this year I going to be fishing a lake were it's stocked with Hybrids. I know this is a popular fish there. I just don't know the approch for them. Would I use the same tackle as surf fishing like cut or live bait or will my cranks, plastics, and jigs do? What kind of structure should I look for? Will they be drawn to the same structure Largemouth and smallies are? What set ups do people use? Do you have to go heavy?
