  1. Trions are really nice fishin' poles for the money. I use a 6'6" Med spinning for fishing most of my soft plastics. I didn't like it at first when I spooled it with 12 lb Suffix Siege, but then I switched to some 10 lb test and it fished MUCHHHH nicer. I actually really like it a lot now! But then again, I like the new Amp rods (awesome rods for $30!), and Cardinals are nice reels as well...
  2. I bought a one piece 7' M Amp spinning rod a few weeks ago... They really fish pretty darn well for the price! Very sensitive, and comfortable rods. I think they're rated kind of light, and I use this rod for my 10-12" worms and crankbaits sometimes. I have had a few problems though, I was putting a different reel on it one day and the part of the rod that screws the reel on cracked pretty bad. The handle of the rod also took a nice beating from a sliding battery in the bed of a pickup truck... After some pliers and electrical tape, it's back in business for now and still seems to be the best bang for the buck. I put a Shimano Sonora 2500 on it and it seems to be balanced pretty well! I think I'd definitely choose one of these over a Lightning Rod or a Shock or similarly priced rods.
  3. 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG worm hooks are where it's at! I've found these to be THE best hooks for a 5" senko. Watermelon/black flake catches fish anywhere. I also prefer spinning gear fishing most soft plastics.
  4. I finally nailed a decent fish today! 3-4 pounder, didn't weigh it, but she was pretty fat! Thing fought like a little dink though, besides one little run under the boat, so it wasn't TOO much fun... But we definitely got on some fish today and it seems the biggun's are hopefully getting hungry again!
  5. Aww man, that was great! ;D
  6. The peacock bass down here love these things!

Excellent movie! A friend of mine got us tickets to the screener of it somehow a couple months ago. Definitely worth renting for a laugh!
  8. You guys are too d**n funny! I need to go for a jog. ;D
  9. The past like 2 weeks have been nothing but dinks. > Where are all the big bass!?!? My neighborhood lake is the lowest I've ever seen it before. We need a good 4-5 ft of water in there, maybe that has something to do with it... Come on hurricane season!
  10. Nice fish! Congrats on being able to get out there early this year!
  11. I like using the tungsten screw-in weights. For some odd reason, I don't like the lead screw-ins.
  12. That's what I was thinking of as well... Tight lines!
  13. Holy ! That thing's huge! Can't wait for the story!
  14. I had hooked into what probably would be my biggest bass ever. Loxahatchee Reserve in Boynton fishing right off the dock. I hooked into this mama all the way on the other side of the canal. As all the locals know, this place is full of crocs. I'm reeling in this fish as hard as I can, but it's fighting really hard and taking a while, as I see the croc start swimming over... Cue the gator snatching my fish and sitting there holding it in its jaws wide open mocking me for what seemed like a good minute. I wanted to tackle that friggin' gator. Fish looked to be at least 7 pounds, it was huge! Wish I at least had my camera to get a picture of it. >
  15. I was out there on my lunch break the past 2 days throwing the Anaconda. I hooked up with 2 nice bass, probably around 4-5 lbs, they got off though. I need a new big bait rod. :-/ I did manage to somehow catch 2 bass smaller than the Anaconda. :-? I'm starting to like Okeeheelee a lot now, though. You just gotta find the spots that aren't full of those nasty weeds they got in there. There's lots of good spots with a good amount of lilly pads and whatnot. Anyone know the alligator situation there? Are there a lot of 'em?
  16. I saw this movie at least a year ago... Great flick! Definitely worth watching!!!
  17. That was incredible. :o
  18. It's "perps" as in perpetrators. I agree though, check craigslist, local pawn shops, etc. Hopefully you get your stuff back! That really sucks!
  19. Man, I haven't caught anything of a decent size in a while... The biggun's just haven't been bitin' lately. Nothin' but dinks. I think FishinDaddy has the right idea. Next couple of weeks should definitely be pickin' up!
  20. Flukes can be fished pretty much any way you could imagine. One of my favorites is just using the smallest split shot you can get away with about 6-12" above the fluke. Any way you fish this rig, it has great action... Slow rolling it kinda walks the dog a little, twitching it slowly makes a great dying baitfish, fishing it like a jerkbait, etc etc...
  21. Someone just came out with a new 5/0 jighead... I wanna say it was a new Evolution jig? Someone here will chime in soon...
  22. I've pretty much only been using the 10" Anaconda the last couple of outings. The action on this thing is incredible! Been using the tungsten screw-in weights with a 5/0 EWG hook. Colors I've tried so far are pumpkinseed and okeechobee craw I believe they're called. Excellent worms!
  23. to Florida! Fishin's been a little slow here in WPB 'cause of this cold front. Good luck and make sure you get some pics!
