  1. Congrats man! I just got a little 9 foot Pond Prowler and it's awesome! Way better than fishing from shore! Have fun!
  2. I love these things too but they're so d**n expensive! >
  3. Nice fish!!! Try the Anaconda if you get a chance. Friggin' awesome big worm!
  4. x1,000,000 ;D Man, that's a friggin' nice cat! My older brother came out with me and a buddy a few weeks ago and caught the biggest bass I've ever seen in my lake. He hadn't fished in at least 6-7 years and he goes out there with us and catches a solid 8 pounder! Always fun getting people on some fish, though!
  5. If you're using spinning gear, I like Sufix Siege way better than the Elite.
  6. How's it treatin' ya? Never heard of this one before... I'll look into it. I've actually looked a lot at Kistler rods. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I don't know what it is though, I guess it's probably because I can go to Gander or BPS and hold and feel the St. Croixs or Shimanos, and there's a good amount of them on eBay and whatnot so I can find a good deal. No one around here (WPB, FL) carries Kistler, at least that I can find. They will definitely be on my mind for my next rod purchase, though. Thanks a lot guys!
  7. Done! I wanna see the results too!
  8. I'm really looking at the Avid more, just because it's probably lighter and I want to try out a higher end setup for a while, since I've never really got that much of a chance to. How much of a difference is there between say the Triumph and the Mojos??
  9. If you're using spinning gear, I prefer Siege over Elite. Casts easier, stronger, and less memory for me at least. Francho, were you fishing really, really clear water? I see no need for a leader at all using the green Siege line... I'm interested! :-?
  10. You think the MH would be better for it? Is the M a pretty light rod? I can't find weight specs on them anywhere.
  11. That sounds pretty good... I do have a cheap Shimano Sonora (the orange one, eww) and a BPS Tourney Special that I could use for my crankbaits for now at least. I will need something to throw buzzbaits with so that'll be good, and I'm gonna probably try jig fishing again this year so I think you sold me RW. Still open to other suggestions though. Thanks guys!
  12. Hey guys, I'm looking to finally spend some money and get a really nice fishing rod. The budget's probably gonna be around $150-160 and I want to pair it up with a Pflueger Supreme 8035 so I'm looking for something nice and light. I'd like to use it for weightless senkos and some other worms, maybe some smaller crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps, super flukes, and some T-rigging (sometimes bigger worms so I'd like it to have some backbone). I think I want to try out a St. Croix rod so I've been looking at the Avid AVS66MF or the AVS66MHF, as a 6'6" rod will fit perfectly in my car. Also been looking at the Shimano Crucial CRS66M and CRS66MH, and some others... What do you guys think??? I want a good compromise of light weight and decent backbone if possible... Any other suggestions welcome as well! Thanks!
  13. Nice pics! I haven't been there in years... Maybe I should try and go there one of these days.
  14. I have a mushroom anchor that's probably 10 lbs. Works great in pretty much anything up to about 20mph winds like the guy above said. Very satisfied with it.
  15. That is awesome! I'm gonna start sending people letters just because of it. ;D
  16. This lady needs to be removed from television. My girlfriend loves watching this Kalee Anthony or whatever stuff... Everytime this shows on 'tot mom this tot mom that.' Good lord woman. >
  17. That's what I heard as well. I just got a Supreme 8035 and I'm really liking it so far!
  18. x2! Haha is that your dog Bassn?? ;D ;D
  19. Man, that girl got beat up! That is pretty d**n cool though!
  20. I just bought a Pflueger Supreme 8035 this morning. Fits your budget perfectly! 200 yards of 8lb test, 8.8 oz, $99.99 retail. Tried it out today, it's friggin' nice even though I don't have it on a good rod. Smooth as butter! Other than that, Cabela's website has the Quantum Energy PTi-A on sale for $89.99 but I think that one's a little bit over 10 oz. Retails at $149.99. I think I still might end up ordering one of these.
  21. Yeah, now I need to figure out which rod. LOL ;D Seriously though, just took it out for a few minutes from the shore. Didn't cast senkos too well on this rod that I have it on, but I caught a couple dinks and it feels really niiiiice!
  22. I just got my first boat a few weeks ago! A 9' Pond Prowler. ;D It ain't no bass boat, but it's MINE and it floats! It's easy to transport, pretty darn stable, and I love it so far! The guy I bought it off of gave me 2 trolling motors, a 30lb and a 50lb, both Minnkota Enduras I believe. Other than that, two of my buddies on the lake in my neighborhood have boats, a 15' Pelican canoe and a 14 or 15 ft john boat that I can use pretty much whenever I want. 8-)
  23. I like Suffix Siege on my spinning reels. Much more manageable than Elite. I used Elite once then respooled and gave it away, it was that bad. Suffix Siege in 6-10lb test is excellent line at a good price. Their green color is really good as well. I'm currently testing out Gamma copoly, but other than that, all my reels have Siege.
