  4. Not the funniest thing ever - but it's funny & recent. Two days ago I was out on a lake smallmouth bass fishing. The lake has very easy roadside access and gets a fair amount of recreational use. For this reason I only fish it very early & late in the season before and after the mainstream users are on it. So I'm anchored & casting and along comes a small boat with a undersized outboard - high rev & too much smoke. The nice man & his wife appear to be of retirement age and have decided that I looked like I wanted to chat. So they come right up to me - like 10 feet to say hello. The man leaves his irritating little motor going and strikes up a conversation. I had decided before he got close that I would just grin and bear the foolishness. So I smile & say hello and the man ask's me if I'd "caught any" and I said that I had. To which the man informs me that "last year I caught a 26 incher over there in the corner" I smiled again was secretly thanking him for that comment - And my reply was " That's excellent, Congratulations, but I have to ask, was there a guy in a boat sitting right next to you with a really loud outboard running when you caught it?" And then I smiled again. The look on their faces was PRICELESS ! Especially Mrs. crazy - it looked like she has stepped in something bad . . . . They had no response but instead wished me luck and went on their way - driving right over all the fish in the cove . . . Some "fisherman" just don't get it I guess. A-Jay

Hello And Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  6. I never like letting a dink go right in the middle of a hot bite. Because every time I do - I just know that little stinker is going right down to those other bass and telling them all that I'm up there trying to catch them. So I just put him in my pocket until I'm good & ready to let that big fat blabber mouth go. A-Jay
  7. Nice Job ~ Clearly - you have skills. A-Jay

  10. Nice one. That fish's frame & shape is reminiscent of Lake Erie's brown beast population. A-Jay
  11. I have not fished for them all so I did not register a vote as it may unfairly skew the results. However, the question got me thinking about the term “Easy” and my own bass fishing in general. We each shape the experience to make it our own. The term easy routinely conjures up ideas that something may not be hard or difficult; requiring no great labor or effort; also free from pain, discomfort, worry, or care. Easy is often thought of as not harsh or strict, not burdensome or oppressive; not difficult to influence or overcome; but instead compliant. There are times when this may describe some of my bass fishing, but more often than not – I am on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from easy . . . . . . . But that’s what keeps me doing it. Hey - this stuff is funny but it's not making me feel any better . . . . Yesterday - even my shadow was complaining of a sore back . . . A-Jay
  18. Yup - one man's attitude is always Directly related to the rule of gross tonnage. In other words - if the co-angler was an Offensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboy's the story would be different. A-Jay

  23. Take a look at the Freedom Tackle Hydra Hybrid Jig & Stealth Hybrid Jig. It's a very effective rig for many applications including soft swim baits. Allows an effective swim bait presentation in virtually any cover. This rig also will accept almost any hook the angler desires. This hasn't been used mainstream yet but the flexibility and weedless factor on this one has been killer for me. More info https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35Xu8Wb6nAM A-Jay
