  1. 10 Packs of Berkley® PowerBait® Hollow Belly Swim Baits @ $2.99 each ! A-Jay
  2. Best of Luck to you on the move. Have a safe trip. btw ~ once in Alaska, will you remain HuntFishSpokane ? A-Jay
  3. Northern MI ~ This summer has been Great - If you like Northern Pike . . . . . . . Bass numbers have been decent but the average size has been smaller. Let's just say I'm looking forward a bit to the fall. A-Jay
  4. WTG ~ Nice clean looking fish. The Blue Chrome Rattle trap has accounted for may trophies. I bet when it hit you were thinking " If this is a bass.... It's a Beast !" I'd say the fish made it OK, especially if it was not totally played out before you landed it. A-Jay
  5. Northern MI - Love the Fall. The weeds die off, the bait is exposed and I'll be waiting there for the bass to come in and feast. The bait is bigger and so are my baits. Swimbaits, big spinnerbaits and plus size crank baits will be in my arsenal as the days get shorter and the nights get cooler. And night ops in the fall can be very rewarding . . . . . . A-Jay
  6. Rhino - So sorry you had to say farewell to a great friend ~ she will be in your heart forever so you never have to say good bye. Our thoughts are with the both of you and Indy. Run free Ava. Lynn & A-Jay
  7. OK ~ Here's my Frog-mod for open water situations. Certainly increases the strike to hook up ratio. A-Jay
  8. The inclusion of Jerry does make this a better deal, my only fear is his age. Not that's he's going to keel over tomorrow but it would be nice to see another young gun, bass fishermen in that mix. When he's ready ~ This has KVD's name All Over It ! A-Jay
  9. I like to weigh fish but had stopped for a while because I was not a fan of them making that wild "flip off the scale hook" . So I rigged up a "weighing bag" fabricated out of an extra net bag I had lying around. I works well is easy on both me and the few fish that I may catch that are actually heavy enough to weigh. Drop the fish in cinch it closed and weigh the fish bag and all. I tried weighing fish in the rubber net I usually carry but it was a bit awkward. The smaller net bag seems better and weighing less than an ounce equates into much less math for me. A-Jay
  10. Hey Brian, I had the control board on my Minn Kota die on me yesterday and I found a new one here. I hope this helps. A-Jay http://www.fish307.com/MinnKotaTrollingMotorReplacementParts.aspx
  11. Cool looking bait - are you throwing these on a jig head or a swimbait hook? A Berkley Hollow Belly Swimbait (5 inch) on a 1/2 jig head was easily my best Fall bait last season ~ right into November in fact. A-Jay
  12. I would tend to agree that this title was Skeet's to lose, but once he opened the door by not putting it away when he had the chance there were several anglers who COULD have taken the title but didn't - for what ever reason. And talk about bad luck ~ Arron Martins had some crazy fish kill thing going on the week before and that really hurt his chances. These guys catch, keep and release fish for A Living. What was that all about ? A-Jay
  13. Kevin VanDam IS THE MAN ! At the beginning of the week I didn't know if he could actually pull it off but I couldn't picture him losing either. Considering the phenomenal year Skeet Reese had and realize that at one point this year KVD was like 40th or something in the AOY points race - to see him win the thing almost defies logic. I do feel bad for Skeet as well. But there always next year Mr. Reese. A-Jay
  14. One of favorite baits and ways to fish. For me - I prefer the Blackest of nights and a constant retrieve. Although I can usually Hear the strike all right, I rarely if ever actually see the strike. So to keep from setting the hook and missing (and to avoid having 2 sets of trebles rocketing toward my face in the dark ) I simply maintain a slow steady pace with the bait even after a strike. I just keep reeling and when I feel the weight of the fish I set up on him. If you haven't already, you might think about changing out the trebles from the stock ones to one of the many higher end hooks - I use a few different ones ~ Mustad triple grip and Gamakatsu to name a couple. If the fish are hitting with the enthusiasm they often use at night, it doesn't take much of a hook set. Now getting an over sized bass that repeatedly goes air-born at night, is a whole different problem. But it's one we really like to have as often as possible. Good Luck - btw check out the Crazy Crawler as well. Some nights this bait is like magic. A-Jay
  15. As a boy fishing in New England, my brother and I would catch Crayfish in a minnow trap over night and "feed" them to the Bass in the morning. They made great bait and we never had enough. Come to think of it - a live crayfish might make a heck of a trailer on a jig . . . . . . . A-Jay
  16. OK - Start with the PARENTS ! A-Jay
  17. From icast 2010 - Dahlberg Diver Frog - The video of this bait (as well as the new crayfish bait) looks very interesting. Durability might be a concern but the in water action looks Awesome ! I'll be looking to pick a few of these up before the topwater bite up here cools off. A-Jay
  18. Nice ~ that little guy is a dink but he definitely has the Right Attitude. A-Jay
  19. x2 ~ yea - what he said ? ? Nice fish as always A-Jay
  20. The Fathead Jr ~ I got a "good deal" on these baits a while back. However, these swimbaits might be effective somewhere for lmb but not where I'm at. I've caught exactly zero bass to date. Fortunately, I have discovered that plus size Northern Pike Really like them so at least it hasn't been a total waste. A-Jay
  21. And wear your PFD all Night ~ especially if you're fishing alone ! A-Jay

x2 - I picked up twin tail trailers from *** a while back and there is almost always one on any spinner bait I'm throwing. One a separate note ~ my wife flat Wore Me Out in the rain late week on a 1/4 oz classic on a spinning rod - ouch. A-Jay
