  1. Bummer you blew up your rod. Perhaps "Fish" your friends new stick and see if you like it. A small deposit may be required depending on how close a 'friend' this person actually is. Good Luck. A-Jay
  2. @Dervish If you have a passport as well as the time, means and inclination to travel a bit, perhaps Mexico could be an option. Has certainly work well for me and few others on this forum. A-Jay
  3. @buckmaster27012 I do not have FFS but do catch bass on deep running jerkbait - most smallmouth. Sort of addicted to it and have been doing it long before FFS was a thing. I DO modify some baits to get extra depth, works for me. btw - SK now makes a sinking jerkbait that might interest you. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_KVD_300_Sinking_Deep_Jerkbait/descpage-SKKVDDJ.html Good Luck A-Jay
  4. Left out the third and most important choice. Go fish water where DD Bass actually live and thrive. A-Jay

  6. What a nice man. Btw, I have never caught a bass on a brand new corvette. Just saying. A-Jay
  7. So have those Team Diawa Baits made it happen for you ? A-Jay
  8. The new 'Shrimp' Pattern Vision 110 has been very popular with the ladies . . . . Especially when presented in 8-10 feet of clear & clean 42-45 degree water A-Jay
  9. Spent my off day on Lake Menderchuck and then took a mainainance day to recover from that deal. But I was back in the home gym this morning. Workout Day 3 started with Rack Pulls and they felt pretty good. Finished with some core work and that never feels good. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/4ZsDCvtGqV8?feature=shared A-Jay
  10. Me Too. And although I certainly didn't win anything, I experienced something similar but it was a swimbait instead of a big worm. A-Jay
  11. Hey now, This is not the time nor the place for any of that type of shenanigans. 😃 A-Jay

Wishing this little sweetheart a VERY Happy 4th WoofDay! Little KyaKyaKya, aka "little worm", "little bird" & "hide your crazy" has been an exceptional addition to our family since day one. We are so grateful to White Paws German Shepherd Rescue for saving this little Texas stray's life. Sweet Kya, thank you for being such a love-bug, ball of energy, soooo fun & never-ending source of laughs. A-Jay

  15. Despite getting onto Lake Menderchuck early this morning, it took me a while to find active fish. Air temps in the low 40's and water temps in the high 40's are usually pretty prime conditions for early season action. But some very heavy rain yesterday & overnight had muddied up a couple of my favorite go to areas. So much so that after several hours of trying to make it happen there I only had one bass to show for it. Nice fish at just under 5 lbs, but I was looking for something next level. So I relocated and shifted gears. Decided to fish more main lake stuff and leave the dirty water coves & shallow bays to clear up a bit. Ended the day with a 21.5 lb bag with only 4 bass. Tried just about everything I could think of to come up with one more fatty. But it was not meant to be. Still had a awesome day on the water, all be it a bit on the nippy side. Looking forward to the next one. Fish Hard A-Jay
  16. Managed a 21.5 lb bag with just 4 brown Bass. They were all pretty stout. Dress Warm and Fish Hard A-Jay
  17. After my routinely thorough warm up, I completed 3 working sets of the 4 movements scheduled for this Workout Day 2. Starting off with Step Back Lunges always get my attention. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/EIHmUA8go2s?feature=shared A-Jay

  19. Even though the bass fishing season is still relatively young up here, when it comes to the basic premise of this thread, I'm ashamed to say that I pretty much chicked out. Being a closet superstitious basshead, I didn't want to jinx it by making some wild prediction, only to fall flat on my face. I do enough of that already. So I can't make any claim to 'calling my shot' for what size fish I might catch. About the only thing I did get right was hooking up into a decent fish, and saying "I hope it's a bass" and it was. It's a little hard to hear with the crazy wild wind blowing in the back round. And I say it all the time, and it's always a big pike; except when it's not. A-Jay
  20. LOL ~ Fixed that one for you. A-Jay
  21. I'm up and out pretty early most of the time. When I want to be 'on the spot' right at first light, and I have 60 miles of road and 10 miles of lake between me & the fish, my breakfast needs to be easy & fast to keep me on schedule. A protein shake & a half of banana is the go to. Always bring plenty to eat, so dining on the water occurs regularly as well. An indicator of a good day on the water, sees me eating my whole bag of whatever in the truck on the ride home. Happened past couple of trips. I'm a fan. A-Jay

  23. That's a bummer - was it an actual Rapid Hitch ? Pretty sure they are guaranteed for the life of the hitch. A-Jay
