  3. When the fishing's good, the weather's bad, so the inside & outside of the AT4 takes a hit. Finally got around to correcting that mess. A-Jay
  4. Had to go with mid-Day training on this one. Always a challenge for me. Workout Day 1 as scheduled. Tried to perform my working sets as strict & clean as I can. Coming close to failure but never really getting there. Hate getting hurt and Rehab makes me crazy. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  5. You're preaching to the choir my friend. For every hour I'm casting, I have at least that scouting. Especially on the bigger water. But night ops are an entirely different deal. A-Jay
  6. Nice ~ Only the truly addicted of us never give a second thought to making a pre-dawn launch to scout. I like your style Sir. Good Luck the rest of the season. Hope you get one that scares you when to set the hook ! A-Jay
  7. 13 years ago today ~ My best trout from the Old Town Canoe. A-Jay
  8. Hello @Vince and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ My version of this is: My 'fishing is a hobby', one I take seriously (like anything I chose to put my valuable time into), but still just a hobby. The Best & Worst 'fishing experiences' I've ever had, all revolve around 'balance'. I'm taking about balance in my personal life; which I can assure you is one heck of an eternal roller coaster ride. However, when I can put the same time & effort into 'balancing' out my home & personal life, best I honestly can, that I am willing to put into my fishing hobby, it's almost always better in the long run. Things seem to work out best for the men who can make the best out of the way things turn out. Good Luck A-Jay
  9. I can only offer my own personal feelings on this. My answer after a plus size catch ALWAYS IS "Let's Do That Again". https://youtu.be/o9xew3tWuuU?feature=shared&t=573 The addiction is real and in many ways much of my life revolves around it. I like it that way. A-Jay
  10. We had a crazy mild winter here and then a redonkulously early ice out / open water spring in 2024. Took me nearly a month to finally get something decent going. The weather and the fish were all over the place. But once I finally did, it was a wonderful mix of stage 3 and stage 4. Perhaps my most favorite way to be successful catching big brown bass. Jerkbaits were stupid good in late April. A-Jay
  11. I can personally speak as to many of vessel operators on ALL size vessels on the rivers, bays, inshore and offshore water between Maine and South Carolina over a period of almost 3 decades. And IME the above incident is tame compared to the complete insanity that takes place on a daily basis. This does include recreational AND Professional operators. Folks who do this for a living; including, guides, Pilot boat operators, Ship Captains and even Captain Stubbing. People seem to go completely outside of their minds on the water. Stay safe and keep your head on a swivel. A-Jay
  12. Workout Day 5 this morning. Felt ready, willing and able. I'm a bit over 8 weeks into this 5 Day split routine and it's been good. Additionally I'm 4 weeks into a calorie restricted diet, and that's going OK as well. Plan on keeping both of these going for a bit longer and we'll see where it takes me. 64 is such a fun age. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  13. That's more of a tears of joy type of deal. A-Jay
  14. Always means something most excellent just happened ~ A-Jay
  15. Dislike: A-Rig. I still throw it a bunch but my shoulders are never happy about it. Can't Stand Using: Drop shot. Beside being painfully boring, it's a dink magnet for me. Cant catch bass on: Glide Baits. No worries though. I sold every one ! 😎 A-Jay
  16. Congrats on the New Rig ! Here's to so many great adventures A-Jay
  17. That's good to hear. Consistent effective exercise & a continued healthy diet is always a better choice than making useless dietary decisions, not exercising and throwing your heath in the trash. Hope you can keep it going for the rest of your life, otherwise, you'll be right back where you started. Remember we improve on our off days, not in the gym. Also - Mr Humiston is admittedly on PEDs and is IMO, a YT Clown, not a role model for longevity & good health. I might not be of this earth then but I'd be interested how that whole show is doing when he's my age. Just eat right and consistently work hard. You'll be better off in the long run. And that's where we all hope to get to. Good Luck and thanks for sharing. A-Jay
  18. Nicely Done ~ Lake Erie still knows how to put out Trophy Smallies. Congrats to all especially Robert with that sweet new PB. Heck of a way to start it off. A-Jay
  19. Good Luck Bring sunscreen and insect repellent. A-Jay
  20. It's not easy but it sure is fun, if you're into that type of thing. Dreaming about something is cool. Hoping for that same something is important too. But hope isn't a strategy. DD fish are hard to find, hook, fight, and land. Folks who say that are not, probably haven't caught many. Dreams can come true, but IMO, it's the planning, effort, drive & suffering that ARE the REAL satisfaction of catching a DD bass. Many folks start the journey but 99% give up very early on, because it is hard. Watching this clip of my friend Big Fish Jeff Landing back to back DD bass, always makes my day better. So Glad I had the GoPro's running. Good Luck on your quest. A-Jay
  21. In ~ Sane ! What a couple of days. Living the dream but you surely put in the time. Congrats on the New Personal Best and Welcome to the 7lb club. A-Jay
  22. Workout Day 4 this morning. Switched it up a little. Bumped up the weights and performed sets of 8 (mostly). #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/1M39pC07d4k?feature=shared A-Jay
  23. OK then Disregard my last transmission. A-Jay
