There's a ton of good trailers out there nowadays, and many have already been mentioned. Here's my favorites.   For spinnerbaits, I agree with A-Jay. The Strike King Blade Minnow is my favor

  • I have quite a bit of success on stout brown bass with a SK blade minnow on my spinnerbaits   Riding on my Jackhammers is either the Zako or a hand poured Goby swimbait.

Spinnerbaits I like zoom split tails, trick worms, or yum pulse swimbaits. I do not always use trailers

I don’t throw chatterbaits

The Zoom "The Fluke" 4" (not the Super Fluke 5" !) will serve you well ... Please kindly do a search here on Bass Resource and you will find many posts on the subject .

@ChrisD46 it’s alright. Folks cycle in and out of BR. New information and new baits come out. New threads just update the existing library.

On the chatterbait I like z craw Jr or the super fluke.

Spinnerbait I like a split tail trailer, trailer hook with no trailer or gambler EZ or similar swimbait.

Spinners and chatters - first thing I reach for is a Berkley Pit Boss.

White power grub on my Spinnerbaits.

Spinnerbait - no trailer

Chatterbait- Spunk Shad.

Rarely use a trailer.

Haven't tried a trailer on a spinnerbait yet.

Chatterbaits: my top trailer is the Yamamoto Zako, but I've caught some big fish using the Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke when I first tried out chatterbait fishing. The Zako is such a great trailer on them that I have no reason to try anything else currently. But all accounts, the Spunk Shad is supposed to be pretty killer on them, though.

I use trailers on chatterbaits but not spinnerbaits.

I like most any fluke or minnow-style trailer; whatever looks good or I happen to have on hand, usually Yamamoto zako,  Strike King Blade Minnow, Zoom Super fluke.  For a stockier profile, a rage menace rigged vertically.

spinnerbaits and buzzbaits get a split tail for me.  I have a few spinnerbaits with a keitech on them but its not necessary.  I often run a spinnerbait without a trailer even.

Chatterbaits- I've run so many different trailers on them the past couple years and there isn't a wrong answer.  Across the various sizes and uses of chatterbaits my list includes:

rage menace (3 sizes), zakos, lake fork shad, spunk shad, mini flukes, paddle tails, zoom swimmin chunks, rage bugs and other beavers, split tails, and probably a couple I'm forgetting now.  They all have their place depending what you're doing and the profile you want.  If you want a big profile and for the trailer to just get out of the way then the zako/LFS does that.  A 1/2 oz chatterbait with a zako is a big and heavy bait with a full profile.  It comes in around 7/8 oz total bait weight for the Zako.  If you want a thinner profile but also for the trailer to get out of the way then a split tail or a spunk shad is a great choice.  For ripping off the bottom that's where I'd go.  If you're looking for a more bluegill shape and more trailer action then the rage menace or rage bug rigged, both rigged vertical, give a very different profile.  A menace mini on a 3/8 CB with a trimmed skirt makes for a great young of the year bluegill size/shape that you can work slow through shallow grass.

I think a paddle tail is my least favorite of them all.  It works, but the paddle seems to act like a parachute and just kinda dulls the action a bit.  If you have a bunch laying around spare then use them just fine (or clip the paddle off and you have a spunk shad!).  I wouldn't buy them specifically for CB trailers.

Very few new topics would ever get created if everyone just did that. Forum killing suggestion.

I rotate between a ton of different stuff on those two.  I don't think they benefit much from the action of a trailer, as they create their own action, so I typically choose my trailers for their size and color.  And more often than not, I just grab the first thing I find that's "close enough".  I'm more picky for jigs and swimbaits that benefit more from the action of the trailer.

I throw a lot of curly tail grubs, Keitech style swimbaits, and SK Rage craws mounted sideways.  But I've used and caught fish with just about every soft plastic I've owned as a trailer on either or both spinnerbaits and vibrating jigs.  Some of the longer ones, like lizards and worms, I'll cut down and just use the back half.

Not to mention if you ask a question on an old thread, then people complain that you are reviving old threads.

Searches are handy to find information if just researching, but I have no problem with people starting new threads if they want. New solutions may be available now to old questions.

I use a paddle tail swimbait on my spinnerbaits usually. Chatterbaits get a rage craw .

Hard to beat a Zako either fork or paddle tail.  I would add a DShad to the list.

For a bladed jig I like a Berkley Pit Boss or Devil's Spear (Discontinued), or a Strike King Rage Menace.

Spinnerbaits I like a split tail trailer or Fat Impact style swimbait in the 3.8-4.8 inch size range.

I recently found that cutting a fluke 5in right up the middle and carefully rigging it on makes a Fantastic trailer

also a bellows shad kills

On bladed jigs, I like to use a Zoom Fat Albert.  I don't use a trailer for spinnerbaits.

I use a Googan saucy swimmer on both. Great action and perfect size

Spinner baits Zoom split tail or make them.

Chatterbaits Lake Fork Shad.
