  1. After reading the responses here, combined with the "How are you different ?" thread, I honestly have no idea how I manage to catch a single bass. Seems my basic & routine approach is so wildly contradictory to so much of the best deals. And yet somehow, I get a few. This hard water season is getting longer and longer. A-Jay
  2. Sweet Rig Steve ~ Congrats ! A-Jay

  4. Really sorry for your loss. A-Jay
  5. When it comes to fishing, I'm not sure I'm different but I am certain I'm me. Sometimes, being me feels a lot like being alone. That being said, being true to my own standards and my way of fishing, has made me feel a bit different. But in the end, it has made me the happiest. Mostly because any & all success I may have, feels self generated. Fish Hard A-Jay
  6. Push Day 1 this morning. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  7. I'm optimistic but also realistic ~ and perhaps even a little superstitious. Can't put out a number now. IMO, each and every season is a totally separate deal from the previous ones. So it could be the best ever or the complete opposite. I like to believe that past behavior is the decent predictor of future behavior, and the same is true of success. At the beginning of each season, any small victories help build confidence for me as well as the desire & momentum to keep it going. There will always be some struggle, and I can & do drive through most of it. But it seems that in the 'better years' there's less of that. Might all just be in my head. Either way, I'll continue to work hard at 'being ready' for whatever happens my way. Because preparation = performance. Best case scenario is I hook up, and say "hope this is a bass" . . . . and it is. Fish Hard A-Jay
  8. Nice job Bet that was fun. Congrats btw - not sure if you realize it, but seems like right after you hook up, you're reeling against that drag a good bit. Line twist might be headed your way. A-Jay
  9. I don't hate the man - but his antics rub me the wrong way. But whatever - who am I to judge ? A-Jay
  10. You can choose to accept this as mature behavior. I do not. Should we be teaching our children this - out wait . . . .. A-Jay

  12. May have just found our next foster "Project" ~ Met "Timber" a few days a go at the local animal shelter. Kind of have a feeling we'll get along just fine. More to follow . . . A-Jay
  13. Could not disagree more. There are thousands of men & women who operate at a level where the stakes are far higher & more important than what happens in bass fishing. Maintaining a level head , adapt & overcome usually leads to a better outcome. Pulling that clown act like at the circus might entertain some, but I'm not one of them. Temper tantrums are for 4 year old's, not adult men. YMMV A-Jay
  14. I believe that most bassheads would be truly aghast if they knew just how remarkably effective this deal really is. I know I was. To the best of my knowledge, you pioneered this technique and it seemed purely out of necessity. So much water, So many Giant Brown Bass, so little time. A-Jay

TW site is not handling the added load very well. #freezeup 🙃 A-Jay
  16. Well, just like most bass fishing, location plays a big role in success and that includes this deal. If one simply 'starts' at the ramp and just drags baits across the lake all willy nilly with no rhyme or reason, then I'd probably do something else. A-Jay
  17. I'm not going to call it straight up trolling, but on big clear water, where the bass can be very spread out, a system of 'strolling' can be extremely effective; especially for smallies. Any number of baits are perfectly suited for it. Hair Jigs & jerkbaits just to name a couple. A-Jay

Me too. Rigging up a special rods just for such an occassion. btw. #4's are pretty big for bass baits. A-Jay

Owner size 2 works for all but the beefiest topwater baits... Bone & Clown you say ? A-Jay

  24. Back around to Legs 1 this morning. Hoping this can help keep me stable & balanced up on the bow of the Pro-V Bass for as long as possible . . . #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  25. I spool my own bass gear and have been for a few decades now. I'm sure it's just me but I honestly can't trust a retail human. A-Jay
