  1. I'd like to double down on that action. A-Jay
  2. The human who brought this one back to life was a first time poster who didn't have much good to say so it seems their offering may have been vaporized. Either way, there's this one . . . A-Jay
  3. March is doing what March does up here ~ Guess we got about two maybe tree inches over night. 36 Days and a Wake Up ~ A-Jay
  4. What's the guesses ? I say they sell out in T- Minus 15 minutes . . . . Everywhere. Anyone else plan on being on line at midnight ? A-Jay
  5. This is a pretty broad statement but one that I feel fairly confident making regarding my experience with the local brown bass population. The smaller the fish - the larger the school or pack. Doesn't mean plus size brown bass are total loners, but it seems there's less of them percentage wise, so the 'packs' can often be less than 1/2 dozen or so. But every once in a while, especially early spring, I'll come across a 'wave' of plus size smallies. The numbers and size of these groups will contradict my statement above, and are what so many of my dreams are made of. But it's still a fairly rare event, which is probably a good thing because Atrial fibrillation can occur not soon afterwards. #afib A-Jay

  7. You and I both know that type of deal seperates the men from boys. You are The Man. Hope we get to see the finished product. #stronglikebull A-Jay
  8. My 2 cents ~ When we look at HOW Fast this technology is advancing, Buying the NEWSET most up to date unit may be the way to go. Because in two years - there's a decent chance it will be old news and that's a bummer. With a wait for the G4N, it might be out dated & superseded sooner than that. btw - I have G3N Hexlix 10 - it's very good for my needs. Good Luck. A-Jay
  9. What we fish, might not be as important as where, when & how we present it. While some effective baits have been recommended here so far, might still be tough sledding if the above, is not at least considered. Good Luck A-Jay

Had to do it ! A-Jay
  12. Sure is - wish I had access to a lake full of these things. That would be very exciting. Wonder if I could petition the MI DNR to start a stocking program on Lake Menderchuck. So if it's a hybrid is it a Breen Bass or a Grown Bass ? ? A-Jay
  13. They sure were and We Watched every one. While training for a fight, he used to run the beaches on the cape in work boots. #legend A-Jay
  14. A 7.60-pound smallmouth/largemouth hybrid bass caught on Mar. 1, 2021 by Wyatt Frankens has just been certified as the new Texas state record by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Not only is it the state record, but it just might be the new world record as well, according to the IGFA. According to Frankens, it is expected to be official once the paperwork is submitted and approved. Tissue samples from the bass were collected by Texas Parks and Wildlife and biologists confirmed that the bass was indeed a smallmouth/largemouth hybrid. Congratulations to Wyatt Frankens on the catch of a lifetime ! A-Jay

  16. A few years back, I used a 7' ML St Croix Avid X to present 1/8 oz hair jigs. Along with an super light 8lb braid mainline, casting distance was just OK. The blank didn't feel like it loaded much and casting felt more like a buggy whip deal. Fast forward to two seasons ago, I couldn't take it any more and finally went for a longer blank. After some back & forth I decided on the Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS Spin Rod 7'6" ML Feider. MUCH BETTER ! Same main line I'm getting perhaps another 1/3 of the cast distance. Which in the scheme of things can make all the difference; you Know. Initially I was concerned that the longer stick might be a noodle but that is not the case. There's just enough tip for everything I need one for and Plenty of back end HP to take care of business. In fact I was pleasantly surprised how much pressure I could apply. I also use this stick for my neg rig needs which it has handled very well. Accounted for several 5 & 6 lb brown bass and one mutant that was a goby shy of 7. So there's my 2 cents. Best of luck with your research & final decision. A-Jay Maybe not in distance but definitely in hook set. A-Jay

When my local waters flatten out and get calm, slowing down & / or downsizing has proven effective at times. Often I'll do both. Worked out right here . . . https://youtu.be/3OXnPQs0bqQ?t=61 A-Jay
  18. Accurately judging casting distance can be a little tricky, at least for me. I do not measure how much line I put on a reel but there's always at least some backing; usually about 1/4 or perhaps 1/3 of the spool. I know one thing though, I'm a Rock Star Caster with a heavy lure and the wind at my back ! ? A-Jay
  19. Despite mostly sunny skies today, occasionally breezy winds up to 25 mph will make otherwise near to slightly above normal temperatures feel a bit cooler than that. But The Good News is . . . . We had our First Robin sighting of 2021 ! There's always a dozen or so pairs making nests in the fur trees around the house each spring. May not be the earliest we've seen them up here but a Great Sign either way. 37 Days and a Wake Up. A-Jay
  20. Best Middle weight ever ~ 62 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws, with 52 wins by knockout. Undisputed. RIP A-Jay
  21. Good eye. Megabass V9 spinnerbaits A-Jay
  22. I sort of prefer a trailer on a spinnerbait but I've caught plenty of bass without one. A-Jay
  23. In Mexico, we have success dragging a 3/4 and 1 oz Football style swing head with either a 7 inch Senko or a 10 inch SK Bull Worm. For both baits we like the Owner Jungle Wide Gap EWG Hook in 7/0. A-Jay
  24. Zip Lock could work Or you could go another route ~ A-Jay
  25. You could use something like this https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Mustad_Tungsten_TitanX_Fastach_Football_Weights/descpage-FTX.html And them go with a long Shank EWG from VMC ~ https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_X_Long_Wide_Gap_Hooks_5_pk/descpage-VMCXLWG.html A-Jay
