Strongest braid to Fluro knot hands down.
Not going to be applicable in most bass fishing situations. Only performed well in the heavy line division (50 lb braid to 80 lb leader), and it is difficult to tie due to requiring the Bimini Twist and some difficult wraps with the leader line. The big problem is that many more recent viral videos showing how to tie what they call the "GT Knot" while referring to the knot contest performance, but they show a totally different knot that would never win a knot contest. Like the video show above ~ This clip discusses it https://youtu.be/mZu3gEXOsM4 Bassheads beware ~ A-Jay

Very Nice. I use a very similar formula here except the phrase "and then double it" must be added to the end. c A-Jay

Berkley or Storm pre-rigged swimbaits?
I have had quite a bit of success the past several trip south of the border throwing 5 & 6 inch storm wild eye shad. I fish pearl/white mostly and then use spike-it paint pens to color them up. A sexy shad type pattern has been killer. A-Jay

Things To Do During The Freeze
I'll participate in a bit of diet & exercise when the mood strikes me. Even slip in a little dog sledding, in the odd chance we may actually get some snow. ? A-Jay

Winter 2020-2021
We average over 150 inches annually and often get the Lions share of that before the big lakes freeze. We aren't even remotely close to that now. #notcomplaining A-Jay

What are the best youtube channels....
I watch a few different channels as well as reliving many of my own trips on video, which helps pass the long winter days. Perhaps my favorite just straight up 'fishing' channel, is right here. This gentleman puts together some of the most entertaining and relaxing video out there IMO. And his Mr Rogers like voice is both calming & a little hypnotizing. #youaregettingverysleepy Most of all, he catches some gorgeous Brown & Green Bass ! A-Jay

Daiwa Tatula Glass Bladed Jig rod -TTU741HRB-G
Three thoughts. One: I do not get too wrapped up in rod specs. In my mind they only serve as a very loose guide as to what a stick will do. Real world time on the water with three different type blanks enabled me to easily recognize what I needed & eventually preferred. Like so much of what drives this sport, we get to do it 'our way' and this is mine. Second: I went through the same dilemma. What the heck do I get ? What if I don't like what others like ? That's why I just went ahead and fished some stuff until I figured out what I liked. It was fun and I learned a lot. Third, perhaps seeing is believing ~ The first clip is me fishing a 1 oz spinnerbait with that stick The second clip shows that same stick feeding a 1/2 oz vibrating jig to a trophy brown bass ~ (I like this clip better myself) A-Jay

Skin Cancer
So far & to date, I've have no symptoms. BUT Many Years in the sun out on the big water with virtually no protection and a family history, has me trying to play catch up on what might already be a done deal. Either way, now you'll ALWAYS see me covered up - completely. Hat, buff, gloves, long sleeve sun shirt & pants, as well as shoes & socks. And don't forget about quality sunglasses. Hope Matt's OK but like he said, he might not be. Stay Safe. ? A-Jay

Deps and OSP Lures -Question and Reviews?
I stated throwing a vibrating jig a few years ago - struggled to get bites at first. That OSP bait I posted with the clear blade was the first one I got some fish on. And that may have been a more a product of where & when I was throwing and not what. Been throwing several different models of many brands since then. The Reg & Tungsten Jackhammer are for me, FAR & AWAY the top produces. The clear blade baits, including the new Z-Man bait, seem decent but I have not discovered the secret sauce with them yet. A-Jay

The Natural Progression of a Basshead ~ One Man’s Point of View
I hear Ya and I am very familiar with that stage my dern self ! And I deliberately omitted it because to be positioned in this one (or to openly admit it) can be a very dangerous deal. One may need a laser focus and pin point accuracy on every last detail just to come remotely close to anything that resembles repeatable results. Such a fine line. Tread lightly my friend and carry a big flipping Stick ! A-Jay
