Run&Gun or Low&Slow
I can get with this except even though I might be 'running', when I get there there's usually very little gunning. More like the bass angling equivalent to a treasure hunt. A-Jay

Free Swing Football Head Swim Head Questions
The RPE Tackle Tungsten Swinging Football Jig (Pictured Top & Bottom Bait) is Tungsten, come without a hook. It possesses a unique and very secure hook hanging system that allows for the hook to be changed. This is accomplished by sliding the internal rigging clip out of the weighted head. Once re-rigged and ready to fish, the head 'moves' a bit on the clip. I noticed it was coming forward & tight on the line tie in front, possible wearing the line/knot. The addition of the oval split ring eliminates that. A-Jay

Boat Upgrades
The actual hull & motor are the Main players ~ Their condition & serviceability usually determine if expending additional fund to up grade is 'worth it'. Can't 'upgrade' the hull - so that's where it starts & ends for me. If you believe it's in a condition that will last until you can get into another rig - that may help you make you decision. The motor obviously can and often is 'upgraded'. Doing so is often a good way to bring an older rig back to life. Again, the hull's condition plays a role for me. BTW - why are you looking at a 150 hp when the rig is rated for a 135 hp ? Didn't mention the trailer at all, which can't really be over looked. I'd put my first upgrade $$ into ensuring it was safe & reliable, well in advance of anything mentioned above. Can't fish if you can't get the boat to the ramp & back. Good Luck. A-Jay

Run&Gun or Low&Slow
My 'style' is neither run & gun or low & slow. It's more about 'time & place' for me As a retired man - I am for the most part on 'A-Jay Time'. So I fish when I want. And that is routinely at a time & place that offers the best chance at trophy brown bass. Usually requires some minor sacrifice like sleep - but when it works out it's SO worth it. The particular presentation selected could be almost anything. Finally, if I'm actually running & gunning - usually means I'm clueless, fishing new water or just 'fun fishing'. A-Jay

Spinnerbait vs Bladed Jigs
^^^^ This is close to my way of thinking here as well. But I'll take it a step further and add that "Speed" and "where in the water column" I'm looking to get bit plays a role for me here - and in a Major way. While much of it is driven by water temp, a vibrating jig is my 'low & slow' bait most often and the spinnerbait see's action in the upper portion of the water column and is most often moving along at a pretty good clip. #burnit No doubt slow rolling a spinner bait deep can be killer just like zipping a vibrating jig over and through shallow grass can be lethal. But in my hunt for beastly Brown Bass, the above is more the norm. YMMV A-Jay
