One jig that can do it all?
I would tend to agree with this. That's a very versatile jig that excels in a variety of situations and with a number of different trailers. Plenty of them in my boat. A-Jay

When do you tie on your lures/hooks for a day out on the water?
I retie leaders & baits the day/night before each trip. When fishing several days in a row, it happens organically as part of my fishing. The more I catch, the more I re-tie. And vice versa, unfortunately. I learned the hard way as used, bead up knots & leaders cost me fish. A-Jay

Easiest way to launch and trailer boat alone?
Early season most docks are not in here until well after ice out. I am not waiting. I go for the wet foot sling shot launch. Considerably easier with the new bunks. Still need the hip boots but I can simply push the boat off the trailer now. Hand line it to the bank and drop the talons. I use a push pole to get me into good water. Pretty easy. A-Jay

BBZ-1 Rat Pack ~
Negative ~ but I haven't forgot about them. Been fishing mostly deep brown bass. Didn't think I could hang one on a drop shot. Top water should be coming back into play for me in couple of weeks. Plan on giving the rat pack some time to show me what they've got. A-Jay

temptation resisted.
The most important part of having a moral compass . . . . is using it. An Opportunity to Reaffirm ones own character can be it's own reward. Like my grandfather always said "What goes around, comes around". A-Jay

YUP, Another DS thread.
Admittedly far from an expert, I've had varied levels of success with the drop shot. Most all of that starts & ends with finding the fish - I know not exactly big news. While fishing shallower & even mid-depth with a DS (say less than 15 ft), I'm usually fishing a ML stick, and most all of that is driven by the weight size. I like the lighter weight & rod in most cases - that is until just a few years ago. Below is a clip discussing using heavier than 'normal' DS weight & why. This is a recent offering but there has been whispers about the technique for quite a while. Either way, I've been fishing this way quite a bit more the past few season and I'm becoming a fan. It relates to this thread in that when doing it, I most definitely prefer a M stick, as the ML just seems to fold up a little too much at or above 1/2 oz. These Diawa blanks work nicely for me while drop shotting with a little more tonnage. A-Jay

Towing Capacity Question
Rather than relocate to one of the Flattest states . . . Isn't is easier to simply purchase a proper safe towing set up ? A-Jay

Towing Capacity Question
Once you determine what rig you're planning on purchasing, you can look up the dry hull weight. Then as a super rough estimate, add 1,400 - 1,700 lbs for the trailer (600-800 lbs) motor (400-500 lbs) lbs, gas (200 lbs) & gear (200 lbs) weight. That should get you in the ball park at least. Good Luck. A-Jay

Advice on rude bank anglers?
Everyone's in the same boat. We still have fishing, it's just different. No sense looking back, that's not where we're going. Looking ahead at the possibilities and opportunities can be motivating. Honestly, I fully expect and plan for crazy to be around every corner, and am pleasantly surprised and thankful when it's not. YMMV A-Jay

Advice on rude bank anglers?
Perhaps think of the challenges presented by other humans while fishing as just another factor that needs to be overcome. Nothing more, nothing less. Either way, we can't control it. Inner peace begins the moment we choose not to allow another person or event to control our emotions. Exist on your own terms. A-Jay

What is Tom Monsoor saying here? - Swimjig content
He is 'reel setting' the fish. His swimjigs are fabricated on a medium to thin wire hook, in this clip he's using 12 lb line, so a Bassmaster Hookset is not needed. A-Jay

Easiest way to launch and trailer boat alone?
Thanks - I've had a little practice. Plus that little Old Town canoe of mine is a NIGHTMARE on the trailer. Blow on the steering wheel and the trailer jack knifes. So I learned the hard way I've got those black non-slip 'stair treads' pads plastered all over the trailer / tongue - Really helps with the footing. A-Jay
