  1. Both the 6th Sense Divine Swim Jig and the Braid Swim Jig are very good. A-Jay
  2. Dirty Jigs Tactical Bassin' Finesse Swimbait Jig Head ~ 1/4 & 3/8 oz. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Dirty_Jigs_Tactical_Bassin_Finesse_Swimbait_Jig_Head/descpage-DJTBF.html That is all Al. A-Jay
  3. I can agree with most of what @Richieg offered above as far as what the lake is structure & cover wise. However, in Late August and early September, brown bass want to be shallow but you may have fish spread out all over the lake; deep, shallow and some in between. Like so many smb waters, may depend on the recent past & the current weather when you're there. Warm-ish may mean more fish still deeper. Throw in a few local cold snaps, especially over night and there could be a bonanza of brown bass invading the shallower stuff. That time frame is one of my favorite times of the year up here to target trophy brown bass. Caught my PB in early September. However most all of it happens between the first few minutes of daylight and may only last an hour or so after sunrise. So it may pay to be on your first spot a little before the crack of dawn. If there's some cloud cover or wind (or both on the best days) I'm staying. Good Luck and let us know how it goes. Finally, I'm not completely certain I've ever fished Hubbard, as everywhere I launch is named Lake Menderchuck. btw,if you happen to run into the guy in the black Lund Pro-V Bass, give him some space, I heard he's a crazy person.
  4. The grubs are both 5 inch GYBC offerings. Had them a while so not sure of the color name but I think the color is # 196. That paddle tail is also dated. It's a Berkley powerbait product that is no longer produced. I have a small supply I'm still working on. That happens when we've been at this for 5 decades or so. A swim senko is very similar however. Btw - I make up most of my own jig, swim jig & spinnerbaits skirts. It's very simple and the winters are long. A-Jay
  5. I use a 6.3:1 for Square bills and a 6.6:1 for lippless baits. Clearly, There Is VERY little difference between the two, but it's just how I like to do it. Mostly because I'm a crazy person. A-Jay
  6. You may be fighting a losing battle throwing that Carolina Rig into Chunk Rock. Regardless of the line or weight type /shaped used, when that rig is presented in that type of cover, IME hang-up rates will inevitably be high. Additionally, almost any type of nose weighted offering is prone to slipping between or getting wedged into a crack somewhere along the way. Plenty of solid options have been offered already and although I don't have a ton of experience with it, a Tail Weighted soft plastic offering may be the way to go right here. There's a few different 'names' for it, and quite frankly I can't keep up with them all; the Neko Rig, the Chicken Rig and the Tiny Child Rig are some. I call it The Junk Rig because I can fish it through some. Either way, it can be effective rigged with an open hook or a in Tex-posed fashion. A-Jay
  7. All except the part where he was reeling in and pointing the weapon at his own face ! #muzzlediscipline Wow A-Jay
  8. The 3.5" Strike King Coffee Tube in green pumpkin is a stable in my own tube fishing world. Reasonably priced, durable and until this weekend, almost always available. Another very good, but lesser known tube option is right here http://www.providertackle.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=66_70&product_id=174 Been hammering fish on this one for a decade plus. As for the tails clumping up, many brands seems to do that. My solution is to snip off the last 1/4 inch of the tube tail, or whatever I need to cut off the sections that are connected. Leaving just the individual strands. Good Luck A-Jay
  9. @Yung_Ty Look up The Antzl Project on FB https://www.facebook.com/TheAntzlProject/ I have had several fishing & non-fishing (my dogs) pictures made into large digital prints on canvas. Also have given many as gifts. All you need is a digital pic and you're good to go. The Owner / Operator , Kevin Washburn does superior high quality work for a reasonable $$. Here's some of them. Good Luck. A-Jay
  10. You'll get no argument from me Sir ~ A-Jay

  12. For the past few seasons on the water, I have been cloaked in HUK Performance Fishing Apparel, Simms Gear and / or Columbia PFG. Covers rain or shine and most everything in between; both locally & abroad. I'm happy with it. A-Jay

  17. Ok ~ I'll bring the crackers and the cheese whiz but only if I get to drive for a few minutes A-Jay
  18. Thank you for your service. I was a Boatswain's mate. Served and Retired an enlisted man, E7. Mostly all Search & Rescue and Maritime Law Enforcement on the North Atlantic, also served two tours as a DI. It was all pretty intense and went by too fast. Miss the job and especially the high speed people I served alongside Every Day. A-Jay
  19. Been a few years but I have boarded hundreds of them. Always thought they were near the top as far as a quality rig goes. Center consoles are a different deal. Hope you get to ride one in advance of this purchase. Btw - during my career, at least half the rigs I drove I did so standing up - I actually prefer it. Especially when it gets sporty. A-Jay
  20. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  21. Nice ~ I just built one on their site - Boat motor & trailer out the door ~ 72K Tips the scales a bit at 3,400 lbs - dry 8'6" beam (6" wider than the Pro-V Bass) 60 gal fuel tank and 3 live wells - Get the black with the hard top. Do It ! A-Jay
  22. Yup ~ Me too. A-Jay
  23. To answer the OP, I'd much rather speed up than slow down. But to take it a step further, I prefer to fish or crank the handle, at sort of a medium cadence; all the time. I find it easier to use/select a reel with a gear ratio to help regulate the inches per turn: either slow, medium or fast. When I'm doing it right, I may not need to speed up or slow down my 'standard' retrieve speed, the reel does it for me. Then all I need to do is focus on everything else that goes into it. A-Jay
  24. Fixed that one for you. A-Jay
