    I tried a hand pump for the trailer tires once . . . . Once. 1 psi was 50 pumps ! I required 4 psi. Needed those triceps that day. 🤪 A-Jay
  2. Interesting. Price increase on either end cause a strain However, if 'companies' were real concerned about the consumer, especially the larger ones, they could always take the hit themselves. Do annual profits Always need to be through the roof ? How about just eating any and all increase costs caused by tarrifs - so they get a little less profit. They will be fine and they'll continue to sell products. Might even gain a few new and brand loyal customers along the way.   15. While like moderate rods and I do fish sticks that meet my needs, I used to think this too. But BIG FISH can swim very fast, faster than you or I can ever reel. So after losing a few DD LMB bass and 6 lb plus pound SMB because they bolted right at me on the hookset, I came up with a different plan. And yes, sometimes I reposition myself during the hookset to help take up the hookset defeating slack. Always thought IKE was a freak for doing it years ago. Turns out he was just a little ahead of his time. YMMV 🙂 A-Jay
  16. Always a good reminder. Glad everyone was OK. IME the single best way to ensure ones own safety on the water, is be be vigilant and place all the responsibility in our hands. Meaning use our own experience and common sense to do whatever is required not allow other, inexperienced, distracted and even possibly impaired operators, to have the responsibility / or even the opportunity of ensuring OUR safety; regardless of what evolution we may be engaged in. (fishing, skiing, tubing or even just cruising) So this might mean operating earlier/later then usual, and or in a different location than usual. When we chose to 'play' right in the middle of the circus, we can expect to see the clowns. When this happens, there is way too much trust and hope placed on another human who may or may not be capable of mission success. And hope on the water can be a faulty strategy. My personal experience on the water puts me in a posture where I believe that every boat on the water - is trying to run me over. I rarely give them the opportunity. The few times I did, I was immediately reminded of why that was a bad idea. Might seem extreme, but so is being dead. Did 28 years on the water cleaning up after these tragedies. Been on this forum for 17 years. Saw and have read enough instances like this one and worse, to believe that there is nothing anyone of us can say that will ever change crazy on the water. But if we are staunch advocates for our own safety, the odds go way up. Good Luck and Stay safe. A-Jay

  19. Haven't been on Lake Menderchuck in 'several weeks'. With the calendar approaching August, a prime time for me here, I'm getting the rig & the gear ready to make an all out assault during the best times; whenever that turns out to be, Next few days I'll put the finishing touches on that deal so that sometime in the middle of next week, I can make a shake down cruse to ensure I'm ready best I can. There will no doubt be a lot of graphing & looking around, might make a few casts, test out some new gear and different type presentations, just to acclimate how they fish (before it matters). But mostly just try to get a feeling on how the bait population in there looks and what state the weed die off is in. Both are major players in my quest for plus sized brown bass. Might be dodging a bit of rain but either way, I'll feel good because I'm floating in the Pro-V bass again. Fish Hard A-Jay
  20. After an extra off day, I was back in the home gym for another Legs 1 workout. Sometimes the hardest part of this at 65 (almost 66) is just getting down there. After that I just put my head down and do the work. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

My favorite Lake Menderchucks are all between 15 and 18 thousand acres, up to 19 miles long, up to 5 miles wide and all have depths over 100 feet, with at least one dropping off to almost 300 ft deep. Read that again. Just ridiculously picturesque, it's like launching my rig onto a post card every time. Most loaded with a variety of species of healthy, well fed gamefish typical for northern Michigan.
