  1. Completed Leg 2 workout today. Some of these movements might not be consider conventional. However, their level of effectiveness keeps this OG coming back for more. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  2. Good Question ~ Often depends on what time reville was held, if there's actually been any net, scale and camera use, and what the weather for the rest of the week looks like. Routine last cast involves quarter of a tank of gas, adding to the line up of rigs on deck by pulling 4 more out of the rod locker, staring at my gps lake mapping hoping light shines on my marble head, and then after at least one relocation, staying too long with no bites. Either way, it's rarely just one cast. A-Jay
  3. If screws are just 'falling out' of the wooden bunks, sounds like there may be some rotted wood up in there. Partial deterioration at the very least. It's close to impossible to effectively inspect your trailer bunks with the boat on the trailer. Splash your rig somewhere and access the trailers condition. If you simply just 'move' the bunk, to find some 'good wood', and most of the rest of them are ready for replacement, there could be some sadness experienced a little further down the line. I replaced my bunks at the lake. Just have to plan in advance by having what you need. A second set of hands/eyes is helpful as well. Good Luck A-Jay https://youtu.be/h3kMaYvtQOE?feature=shared
  4. I prefer a special concoction made with Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,— For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. Recipe complements of Billy S. Best stay up wind though . . . . . A-Jay
  5. That's a thick Dude ! Congrats Any chance at sharing "The Film" with us ? A-Jay
  6. Pull the weedguard out if you want open hook. We used the larger sizes in Mexico. Very stout and High Quality. https://www.warbaits.com/product/silver-swimbait-head-weedguard/77?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=3 A-Jay
  7. Super easy. It's just a fabric elastic band with an adjustable buckle that has a hole for the bitter end of your line to poke through. Just thread the end of the line through the hole in the buckle. Attach the band around the spool and tighten or loosen if necessary. No more unwinding, loose line on spool or tape use. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KAZ137Y?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 A-Jay btw - I've purchase a couple of bags of these and they were $15 bucks then. Seems we've kicked that up a bit now

Been using the Accu Cull Digital Scale 55lb for several years. Replaced the hook hanger with a small Rapala Fish Grip. It gets some use. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/211811-brown-bass-tools-~-questions-answers/page/5/#findComment-2701982 A-Jay
  9. I hear ya ~ Consistently Capturing and Editing watchable video content isn't for everyone. First off, it's pretty tricky getting it done when fishing solo. Especially from a kayak. There's a few bassheads here who pull it off. @Bluebasser86 and @pdxfisher to name a couple. If you choose to make getting useful video a bit more of a priority, You might find that your fishing improves too. Mine certainly has. 😎 A-Jay
  10. Massachusetts ~ https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-freshwater-fish-records 😵 A-Jay
  11. Yes - but I'd need my passport. Locally I am predominately a smallmouth angler so 10 lbs is totally dreamland and most likely the ceiling on weight. However I've got a few decades under my belt of catching various saltwater fish quite a bit bigger than me. So with the right gear and some good fortune, anything is possible. In the mean time, I'll usually get into some local by catch to help keep my big fish fighting skills sharp. Take your time, especially at the boat. This fish was landed on 10 lb FC https://youtu.be/c8ncmrbV3-M?feature=shared&t=304 and this one last summer was on 15 lb FC https://youtu.be/ex3v1uogEcg?feature=shared&t=330 Didn't weigh either but 15 lbs for both was probably a while ago. 12. Most any thread about trolling for bass really does need to include at least some mention of Buck Perry's system. Although dated a bit, what, some 50 years later, still lays out the nuts & bolts. A-Jay
  13. Completed the Pull 1 workout today. It was a little on the brutal side. Extensive extra curricular activities on my off days along with a bit of a calorie reduction is starting to add up and take a toll on the OG. I'll need to address this sooner rather than later. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  14. You wrote the book and are in a class by yourself on that deal. Bassheads wouldn't believe it unless they had a chance to see it first hand. Crazy Effective. Can't do it on my rig and you know I've tried. A-Jay
  15. This was one of those deals that as soon as I saw them, I thought, "why didn’t I think of that" and then ordered 2 bags. Between multiple bulk spools and various leader lines of assorted types, these things are a bit of a game changer. Super convenient. A-Jay
  16. Does he wear the same clothes for 3 days ? #stinkyunderpants 😉 A-Jay
  17. Timing may just boil down to when the bait is most vulnerable and or the bass have some type of an advantage over the prey which could increase the bass's chances of feeding successfully. For my own quest for plus size bass, "Timing' is Always Paramount. That's not to say that Location and the getting the Presentation Right are not. They most certainly are. So while Location can mean which Lake, which area on the lake, and especially which specific spot on the lake. And the Right Presentation can mean so much more than just What Bait; factors such as how I approach an area, my final boat position, determining the best casting angle, and even whether I chose a vertical or horizontal type deal. Timing can encompass, time of year/season, as well as time of day/night. For me that final piece of the puzzle, timing, often seems like The Toughest Nut to Crack. While I can & often do have some success on bigger bass in areas & spots that are 'similar' to other big fish producers, and there's situations where a particular bait that has triggered bigger bites for me will work in a few different scenarios, the Timing Deal is just So Hard to Replicate at times. It can be very random depending on the lake. Clearly early & late in the day (low light conditions) can be somewhat predictable, but not always. The Biggest/Rarest fish seems to have their own 'schedule' and It's up to me to figure it out. Sometimes I do, more often than not I do not. But that what makes it feel like 'hunting" them down. It's also why I will Camp out on a certain deal for days, weeks, months & yes, even seasons. If & when I will only get a shot at a bass that is in the top 1 or 2% population wise, and she is only going to be at a spot for 5 or 10 minutes a day/night, or a week or a season . . . . You tell me how important timing is ? Some of the best 'windows' from last season https://youtu.be/V3OYj82bUXQ?feature=shared Fish Hard 😎 A-Jay
  18. Push 1 workout today. Went OK. My legs are still a little sore from Sunday's training. Decent chance that after this one, my chest, shoulders & triceps will be as well. Part of the deal. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  19. Pretty sure I'm a 'natural' when it comes to this deal. Unfortunately, it doesn't make for very good video. 🤓 A-Jay
  20. I have been guilty of a version of this ~ And still do it sometimes but it's far more of a conscious decision now than it used to be. "I want to catch big bass the way I want to catch big bass" which sounds pretty weak when I type it. And even weaker when the bass have different Ideas. Which is the vast majority of the time. This is routinely driven by where I 'believe the bass are". So if I think they are there, I should be able to get at least one on this Worden's Lures Spin-N-Glo ! I entered the 12 step program and am currently working on step 3. Which is the "don't be stupid" step. It's not really working very well. A-Jay
  21. With an infamous mustache A-Jay

    Nice pike. Congrats A-Jay
  23. Has a forum member here actually convinced you to buy something? Isn't that part of what makes this forum like a Boss ? Yes, for me. More than a couple of times. Just one example is After writing off the first versions of FC line, I gave it another try. Most all of that was based on recommendations from some of the better Sticks here. Glad I did. A-Jay
  24. You're a Madman ! Bet that first bass you hooked was very happy to endure the second hookset. #snatchface Congrats A-Jay
  25. Great question and a scenario I didn't think of. 🤔 I will say that in an effort to keep everybody happy now, and to keep this fun I will address that deal if and when it happens. So for now, it's still full steam ahead and don't give up the ship ! Not sure what any of that even means but sure was fun to type. Good Luck breaking that state record. A-Jay
