  1. You're a Madman ! Bet that first bass you hooked was very happy to endure the second hookset. #snatchface Congrats A-Jay
  2. Great question and a scenario I didn't think of. 🤔 I will say that in an effort to keep everybody happy now, and to keep this fun I will address that deal if and when it happens. So for now, it's still full steam ahead and don't give up the ship ! Not sure what any of that even means but sure was fun to type. Good Luck breaking that state record. A-Jay
  3. Is that list with or without FFS ? Asking for a friend. A-Jay
  4. No Doubt. I'll need to come close to or actually totally besting my current PB to even stand a chance. I think you're safe, at least from me anyway. Whose idea was this again ? 😎 A-Jay
  5. I hear ya. At this point, they are just taking up space. I'd be tempted to set them free just for the shipping. And maybe a little something to cover my pain & suffering. A-Jay
  6. ^^^^^^ Total opposite for me. Far more reels than rods, and it's not even close. When I find a stick I like, I tend to hold onto it, baby it and fish it . . . . . for-ever. Reels, not so much. There a couple of boxes of reels under the bench in my tackle room that have been sitting for a while. Tried to sell them off but there doesn't seem to be a market for them. So they are parked and probably a little sad. 😢 A-Jay
  7. After seeing the picture, I agree with both @Crow Horse and @BrianMDTX Just cover up that entire section up with what you'd expect to need to support what you plan on mounting there and looks half way decent. And on a separate note and one that's very near and dear to my heart - Who the heck in their right mind would deface a Boatswain's Check List ? That's Blasphemy ! A-Jay
  8. Pulling this one up out of the weeds ~ Nothing since May ? I have to admit I'm a little surprised. Especially with So many Hammers on this forum. Of course I'm just an innocent by-stander until August I guess. Either way, Good Luck to one & all. A-Jay
  9. When the wind dies off and the water flattens out, it can be tough sledding here for big smallmouth. Couple of years ago I started throwing a popper during this time. A painfully slow Pop- Pause- Pop ended up being the most productive presentation for me. It's an exercise in self-discipline fishing it that slow for sure, especially for this chunk & wind guy. Had to get it in my head that a motionless bait is still 'fishing'. #easymeal That stupid long pause has drawn up some very nice brown bass for me, when NOTHING else would. And I do mean nothing. The Megabass Pop Max (already mention in this thread at least once) is my popper of choice. A long cast can help get bites in the calm, super clear water here. I go with Medium spinning gear which launches these baits nicely. In the past, once the sun got up, the skies cleared and the morning moving bait bite died, I used to go home. Not any more. https://youtu.be/sITpRNLz_04?feature=shared&t=347 A-Jay
  10. First straight up Leg Day I've done in a while. Already looking forward to the next one. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  11. @Susky River Rat I can relate to your post here. Mine would be similar, I just needed to remove the words 'not' and 'never'. I love fishing. I want to be out doing it. I have decent equipment. A decent boat. Nothing crazy. I do keep up with the latest fads and trends. I do go out with the intent of breaking my PB. I keep track of how many I’ve caught. I do measure bigger bass. I want to catch some fish, have a good time and come home safe. A-Jay
  12. Parties over and this guy will be back in the home gym later this morning. Changed the training routine up a bit mostly to allow bit more recovery between training days. Same basic exercises/movements as most previous versions, just modified when and the sequence I perform them in. Haven't run this one for a while and I may end up tweaking it a bit here and there, but I gotta start somewhere. Going with a Legs - Push - Pull Double Split routine. This is what it looks like. Still be taking an off day between each of these. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  13. @Catt Hard to even write this. I know that this is a difficult time for you and your loved ones. You must know we're thinking of you and yours and sending you love and positive energy. You are not alone, and there are many people here who care about you deeply and I am one of them. For 20 years you have been one of the cornerstones of this deal. I feel extremely fortunate that our 'lives' crossed paths, even if it was only on this forum. You will be missed but never forgotten. Thank You A-Jay

More like mid to late morning. I am still usually gone in those conditions before noon. Boating traffic will pick up by then and that has never helped the bite. Targeting isolated weed or open spots in weed beds on Big flats in 6 - 12 ft depending on where the schools of perch are hanging out. A-Jay

    Just Brutal. 😪 A-Jay
  18. There are a handful of lakes with in 90 minutes of me that hold some very respectable brown bass. During peak calendar periods I will be on one of them as much as I can. But when I'm not, I surely thinking about it. Smallmouth addiction is real. A-Jay
  19. The national anthem is a symbol of American patriotism and is deeply ingrained in the country’s cultural consciousness. “The Star-Spangled Banner,” is particularly associated with the 4th of July, which is the day that marks the country’s birth as a free and independent nation. And this year in particular, I'm really feeling it ! A-Jay
  20. That's a downer. Good luck and stay safe A-Jay
  21. So I am 'officially on the clock'. I'll explain. The month of August and beginning of September is a killer time to be out on Lake Menderchuck. For several reason to include but perhaps not limited to the weather is often very OG fisherman friendly, a bit less boating traffic and the most powerful draw is the potential for seriously plus sized fish no one else is targeting. So as the calendar rolled over to July, between now & then, I've got 30 days or so to get as much done on my property (and tackle) as I can. All a good thing as it motivated me to focus, bust my azz when I can, knowing the whole time what lies ahead. So we'll see how it goes. Whatever that may be, one thing's for sure. There will be some effort expended. The light at the end of the tunnel . . . Work Hard & Fish Harder A-Jay
  22. It was only a matter of time. So glad I got to fish it and share in the big bass insanity before the circus comes to town. It's been a special place for a long time. We visited at least once annually between 2013 - 2021, and was ready to book the next trip after the first day of each one. Managed a DD fish all but one trip. Still got a 9 something. The big Bass fishing in 2018 was beyond comprehension. Not sure what the future holds but seem I may have made my last trip there. And I'm OK with that. A-Jay
  23. Workout Day 5 for this one. Felt pretty good so I put in the work. I'll be taking at least two off days and then coming back with a new/different workout schedule. More to follow. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  24. Glad everyone and most everything is OK. A-Jay
