  1. @VolFan I Arrived on Lake Menderchuck this morning to find wicked dirty like coffee colored 75 degree water. Weather wise - Abundant Rain was the theme. Before, during and on the way home from this one. Been a while since the bilge pump's been running on the Pro-V Bass. No brown bass were to be found so I ditched my conventional approach and went all in on the rattle bait. Burning a MB Vibration X Ultra 5/8 oz got me a few Green bass and of course some slimer pike. Peacock pattern from the fine art finish collection did all the damage. I'll be waiting a bit before there's a return trip. Need several seasonal factors to change before I'd expect any stout brown bass to start showing up. Maybe next week will be better. A-Jay
  2. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  3. Couldn't sleep so I’m getting a head start. There's just a bit of zero dark thirty coolness in the air. Welcome and quite refreshing. Here. We. Go ! A-Jay
  4. You're killing me Smalls. A-Jay
  5. OK - I'm going to pretend you didn't mention the bait. Here's some options that should be a little lighter wire but still stout and run pretty close to the size hooks you're familiar with. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Wide_Gap_Plus_Black_Chrome_Hooks/descpage-O5139.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Nano_Alpha_EWG_Worm_Hooks/descpage-GNAWH.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/BKK_Armor_Point_Offset_Worm_WG_Hooks/descpage-BKKAPO.html Good Luck with that mystery bit. 6. What bait(s) are you needing this hook for ? Worm, creature, jellyfish ? A-Jay
  7. Alarm is set for a 0315 reveille as Civil Twilight is 0545 tomorrow morning. Plan to be firing up the ProXS 2 at first safe light. Ride up Lake Menderchuck should be pretty sweet. Forecast is calling for some showers mid morning but the temps & wind are very fisherman friendly. Just packed my chow and I'm ready to go. While it still might be just a bit on the early side for big brown bass. But I'll never know unless I go. A-Jay
  8. No doubt I would not be complete if this wasn't part of my life. #grateful A-Jay
  9. Glad you got that taken care of. 84 in a house is smoking hot ! btw - Thank You very much for the bait monkey currency exchange rate info. A-Jay
  10. Pretty sure I would simply whither away. I do better in much lower temps. 😰 A-Jay
  11. Me too - btw- does paddling across the lawn slow you down at all ? 🤪 A-Jay
  12. Perhaps a good way to help other bassheads out with your questions, would be to fill this log out. Everything ABOVE where is asks 'total number of fish'. This type of information can be very helpful in determining how, where & when to fish. Probably far more important than what lures you used to get no bites. A-Jay
  13. You Funny. Winter is what us ardent northers get instead of this season . . . . Stay Frosty A-Jay
  14. How about a couple of free puppies ? A-Jay
  15. Not sure who was more surprised by this mid morning visit. Us or the raccoon ! A-Jay
  16. Push 2 Workout today. I feel like I'm finally settling into this Leg- Push - Pull style of training. Need to ensure my recovery process continues to be on point. Always pretty critical however seems even more so now. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  17. My preference for fishing subsurface horizontal moving baits always leans a bit toward the moderate side. However, topwater treble hook deals all get something Fast action with a decent tip to work the baits. I will admit that line choice (type & size) also plays a rather significant role in this for me as well. So it's at least two different sticks on my rig. But if I HAD to do it all with one stick, I'd go @Jar11591 recommendation. So a St Croix Avid 7 ft MH Fast casting rod with 12-15 lb mono. (note; I have 3 of these rods and they come in as 'soft' as any 'fast' action stick I've fished - still graphite but surely not a pool cue). Good Luck A-Jay

  19. I am on my 2nd set (4 total) of 31M AGM Blue tops. Past 9 winters my rig has hibernated in my attached insulated but not heated garage. Garage ambient temps average in the mid 30's. I do not remove batteries but do leave them plugged in on a trickle charge. This happens all year actually. No problems with this deal for me. A-Jay
  20. Thinking of @Catt this morning. https://youtu.be/Qp6D71kQRhA?feature=shared A-Jay
  21. Yup - like in about three hours. A-Jay
  22. I am right there with you ~ A-Jay
  23. Some post workout days seem to be accompanied by an over the top level of muscles soreness. Today is one of those days. Can make a man question his life choices at times. 😬 A-Jay
  24. The Yamamomo numbering system works for me. I'll do a 9-10-297 just about anytime. 9S-10-967 on a sunny day. And 9S-10-955 is my go to for overcast deals. Simple right ? 😎 A-Jay
  25. The Lake Menderchuck weather forecast for this coming week is looking mighty attractive to this guy. Could be some of the right kind of wind and decent cloud cover. Hoping to pull a back to back first light evolution for Tuesday & Wednesday. Boat & truck are already topped off. So we'll see how all that plays out. If nothing else, I would certainly fancy a few more fish tacos. The last ones were most delightful. More to follow. Fish Hard A-Jay
