Working to Stay Lean ~
Workout Day 3 turned out to be a late afternoon affair. Seems during my pre-workout warm-up (not shown here) I'm routinely making a full anatomy assessment. Knees, neck, elbows, ankles, hips, shoulders, forearms, wrists and of course upper and lower back. Very happy to report everything felt pretty good before, during and especially after this one. Hope that continues. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

02 June 2025 ~ Lynn's Stick Bait Smashfest
Lynn and I were out in the old Town canoe on Lake Minichuck. This typical early June northern Michigan day started out windy and in the low 40’s and finished up a little less windy by afternoon with air temps reaching almost 80 degrees. Accordingly it required more layers to begin the day, than it did by the end. Fishing was slow to start. This winter’s record snow fall has left the lake quite a bit higher offering us access to areas not previously fished. So we decided to venture into and fish some of that. We were not really able to put anything together in any of those ‘newer’ areas. So, I fired up the 1959 paddle machine (aka me) and headed back over to what has been productive recently. Of course it was directly into the wind. Once there, we worked the inside weedline with . . . .wait for it . . . 4 and 5 inch Texas rigged Senko’s. Not sure color would have mattered but we started getting bites on watermelon and just stayed with it. I got a few fish but Lynn was just ridiculous. I hardly had time to soak a bait before she was hooked up again. This went on pretty much until we left. Lynn’s been through a lot and the smiles seen here tell that story best. A-Jay

This first week of June will keep us busy with a full slate of mostly routine medical appointments. But before any of that happens, tomorrow we're going fishing. Another Canoe trip and I'll be a plus 1. Always a good time. Packing the gear & making some food now. Forecast is looking sunny, clear and Hot ! Sweet. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Started June off with Workout Day 2. Felt a little more in tune with this one as compared to previous training session. Always a good thing. Additionally, this is video 771 that I've added to this playlist. Kind of crazy, especially for an Old Guy. Someday I hope to get in shape. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Office visit?
We Always get more bees with honey. Kill them with kindness but don't pay EITHER bill, until they straighten it out. By then, they may be glad they at least got the $$ for the actual patient who was treated. Good Luck A-Jay

PFD Question
Since 1967 Mustang Survival have been saving Lives. For 55 years Mustang Survival has been engineering high-performance marine gear for military, coast guard, rescue personnel and law enforcement. With a focus on applied research and field testing, they are committed to the protection and enhancement of those who push themselves to extremes. IMO They build gear that saves lives and enhances performance. Nothing is infallible but I trust it with my life. I wear the Elite 28 Hydrostatic Inflatable PFDs. I take care of it and service them as required. Good Luck with you decision and Stay Safe. A-Jay

Pileated Wood pecker. They are very cool and quite abundant up here too. We built special feeders just for them. One's they can actually fit on. A-Jay

Clear storage bag for lures like a 1-gal ziplock?
I use freezer bags. Always a little more stout. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
After an off day, followed by Yard Work Day and then a full fishing day, I was finally back in the home gym for Workout Day 1. As an OG, taking too many off days in a row, makes getting back in the training groove a little rugged. Felt that way for this one. Still pushed myself through it but I was surely feeling every repetition. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Introducing the Newest Member of Our Pack ~
Tank was a rescue from Texas. His mom was a White Shepherd and Dad was a Belgian Malinois. He show's some traits of both. We already had a little female White Shepard (also a rescue from Texas) and they get along great. A-Jay

To a dog who is always up for any thing, any where & any time. Your true loyalty is only exceeded by your disproportionate athletic ability and good looks. Happy 4th Birthday Tank #tankslife A-Jay

I get excited about a new lure and want to share, but....
While I am very willing to admit that @Swamp Girl sets the pace, especially this season. I'm not so sure a bass can differentiate human gender before, or after they are caught. Or if it even matters. They just know they've been bested by the best. A-Jay

29 May 2025 ~ A Day on Lake Minichuck (video)
Always a special day on the water when I get to share it with my wife Lynn, regardless of the fishing. After a bit of a portage and some serious paddling, we did manage to bump into a few of the local bass & pike population. Which made the day all the better. Stick baits, Texas rigged plastics, spinnerbaits and vibrating jigs all took fish for us. Looking forward to the next one. A-Jay

It's not really a race. As long as you are eventually able to collect every bait on the market. You should be good to go. A-Jay

Say "Good Night" Dick . . . . . .
Here are on the road. Destination Lake Minichuck. Target species ~ Green Bass. On scene weather - a little drier than expected, at least for now with seasonably cool air temps and highly desirable cloud cover. This place is shallow with clear water and an obscured sky really helps the bite. we're going all in with Swim jigs, Wiggle wagons, Shpinnah-baits and some soft plastic. Here we go ! A-Jay

So much that's crazy good, no Great about this. First off, such clean quality bass. Then, such a gorgeous and fertile place to fish. Next, there's the catching of a bass every 5 mintes for 5 hours deal. Wow ! Pretty sure I'd need a passport to duplicate that action. Finally, and this is the capper, being able to use the words "your pond" while describing the day. Like I said, So Good. Congrats A-Jay
