  5. "Bang for your Buck" for me means a high quality piece of equipment made by a company with a solid reputation based on real ife xperiences of saving peoples lives. I trust Mustang. Costs more but I'm worth it. I use these . . A-Jay
  6. Stage 3 Group B today. So far this morning it's the Ish Monroe SHoe - 9 bass for 37-7 for a 4-03 average including a 7-0 donkey. Bet he's not throwing a drop shot. David Walker (like that guy) right on his heels with 10 bass for 32-08 including an 8-06 lb Mutant. Still early but it's starting out hot. On line Live coverage starts at 1000 est - - just a few minutes from now. Might not get too much done again today either. A-Jay
  7. Me Too ~. Even if it's still only in my garage. But seriously, this is about as good as it gets for me. A-Jay

  12. As a retirered enlisted man - that's a slipperly slope. Paying taxes is like contributing to my fixed income. It hurts but I don't care. A-Jay
  13. Can I say "Me Too" on this one ? Or is that like Double Jepordy or something ? A-Jay
  14. I think it's just a way for one to mark an angler(s) to enable a quick & easy way to find & follow one's favorites as they move up (and hopefully not) down the leader board. Btw ~ Did KVD nod off in his boat ? Perhaps he fell over the side ? Either way - Zero for two periods while the rest of the field is basically enjoying a Slaunch Fest Beat Down. Makes No Sense. A-Jay
  15. Buy it - life is short. But be warned - that's how this whole mess started . . . A-Jay
  16. Think positive my friend - it's totally do-able. Here's a couple of bass from a lake with ice still on it from a couple of springs ago. A-Jay
  17. If you're looking for the newest deal ~ Thunder Cricket (love that name btw) The Van Dam Warehouse has got them, as well a nice selection of quality items. https://store.radvandamwarehouse.com/thunder-cricket-12oz-vibrating-swim-jig-by-strike-king-p4561.aspx A-Jay
  18. Mr Jordan is up over the 45 lb mark now. Just dropping Bombs ! He may scream right past the 80 lb line before this one is done. And wherever he's at - they can't get a camera boat to him . . . #sendinthedrone A-Jay
  19. Nicely Done ~ On all accounts Your consistency & solid decision making are no doubt impressive and seem equally matched by your coolness under pressure. Most of that can't be taught, you either have it or you don't. Combining that with effective time on the water, commitment, intestinal fortitude and a healthy dose of Big Fish Mojo, makes you both a most formidable opponent. Thank you for taking the time to share this here - always really enjoy it, regardless of the outcome. Congrats on yet another great derby and Best of Luck at the FLW CNC. A-Jay
  20. It's all fun & games until they whip out that polygraph . . . A-Jay
  21. It was like that here in MI up until two seasons ago - Now it's C&R bass all year - I like that. Walleye, pike & trout have to go back until the 3rd week of April I think - I'll know when the time comes. I can't get myself to take a fillet knife to a big trout - too purty. But I'll take the sides off a walleye in a heartbeat - then it's "Cue the Hot Fat !" A-Jay
  22. Good Enough and you're welcome. A-Jay
  23. While I've not ever actually defined what the 'purpose' of this thread is - The general 'theme' if you will, revolves around my open water prediction date and my overall impatience waiting for it whenever it comes. As for catching bass immediately after ice out, I've had some success there. In fact, the first two weeks of open water often account for some of the largest brown bass I'll catch all year. EVen put a few very respectable bass in the net while there was still ice on the lake. So that certainly adds a level of anticipation to the whole deal. I'd encourage you to 'try' fishing now if you can do it safely. A lippless rattle bait & a jerk bait are both great early season presentations. Good Luck A-Jay
  24. @heavyduty I left the plastics in the original bags and they are positioned side by side with two rows end to end in each speedbag. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Most all the bags are 'full' more or less. So that helps make them 'sturdy' enough to facilitate stacking; otherwise, they would not be at all. In my particular case; with 10 bags - I have 5 each stored in two different compartments - 4 on the bottom with 1 only on top of the 4. Works fine and nothing is being 'crushed' as to misshape the baits in the bags on the bottom. The capacity of the large size speed bag is somewhat dependant on the type of baits and the size (especially the width) of the original soft plastic bait bag. Plano lists the capacity as 40 bags. I'll say that unless they are 3-inch stick baits - that might be pushing it a little. However, 20-30 'average' soft plastic bag is very do-able (excluding larger swimbaits /paddletails). Check back for that picture tomorrow . . A-Jay
