  1. I am in no position to make any attempt to discount anything Roland Martin subscribes to. The man's reputation & tournament record speaks for itself. However anyone willing to look at it - my personal picture gallery contains quite a few submissions of respectable bass (both brown & green) and the sun is shining rather brightly in most all of them. YMMV. A-Jay
  2. Good on her ~ @Hook2Jaw My version of nutrition & supplementation goes like this . . . I look at ALL of it like a very long and somewhat complicated mathematical equation. The more things that are in it and that belong there, the better chance I have at coming out with an answer that's close to what I'm looking for. Conversely, the more 'wrong' things I add and/or the more 'right' things I omit, the lower the chances I have of ending up with anything close to what I was looking for. So nutrition is huge, but so is, rest & recovery (sleep), & hydration. I want & need to have a certain amount of protein, carbs, vitamins & minerals every day. I try of eat small meals evenly spaced out throughout the day - I want to be hungry all day - including right after I eat - sounds weird but if I stuff myself - I can't eat again and my metabolism slows down - totally undesirable. You may find that you 'require' a lot less food than you're currently eating. Meal sizes can shrink quite a bit when you're not trying to get it all in eating only 3 times a day. Everyone's deal is different & what works for me may not work for you - Finding what does is have the fun. Oh, and it changes as you age - good times. So I do prefer a 'pre-workout' supplement - just as a way to kick start the workouts. I also subscribe to consuming protein drinks during the day to 'supplement' my meals. They are not a replacement for food and if you drink too many your colon may rebel - you'll know. As for 'performance enhancers' - if we're talking about the anabolic chicken - that's not my gig. Can't do it forever, they will jack up your mind, body & spirit if used long term, and those who have tried are dead. All of which is completely counterproductive to my end game. Finally, anyone can do this - but if it were easy - everyone would. But do they? Look around. I'm just some old guy who works out and puts up sappy video's of himself doing it. I realize that my pasty, untanned image is mostly unappealing and doesn't look anything like the popular YT workout Gods seen elsewhere - but who does? That's my point - you don't have to be or do anything special to get unbelievable benefits from all this. The improvement in self-confidence & self-image alone is worth it. OK - so I'm off the soap-box for today . . A-Jay
  3. @Hook2Jaw Superior Plan IMO. Having a life partner who shares the lifestyle is invaluable. Best of luck to you Both. A-Jay
  4. Climbing - in my limited experience with, is a Beast of a total body workout ! I'm certain that if you were willing to eat several small balanced meals a day, have no alcohol, and perhaps a quality protein shake before bed, you'd be more that happy with the results - And your job IS your workout. Just 3 or 4 four lbs of body fat a year, 10 years from now, you're looking a 30 or 40 pounds of something that will be that much harder to do something about. Not to mention the myriad of often serious health concerns that go along with it. No magic, just commitment. It's worked for me - for just about all of my adult life. Perhaps make it your new hobby / lifestyle - but unlike our fishing this is something you carry around with you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week & 365 days a year - for your Entire Life. 5. AWESOME PIC ! A-Jay
  6. Not a Hi-Jack and no apology needed my friend - Good to hear from you. Clearly Father Time will forever be unbeaten and although my abilities & capacity has certainly declined some over the years, I am Miles ahead of what I'd be if, for instance, this keyboard was the height of my activity level for the day. A-Jay
  7. Cool ~ Thanks & Thanks. A-Jay
  8. I appreciate your 'support' @Sam. Interesting outlook too. I choose to prescribe to the adage of 'Move it or Lose It'. Because it certainly would be a shame to lose the ability to do this, even one day earlier than absolutely necessary. A-Jay (an Outlier)
  9. 19 Dec 2018 ~ Staying the Course. This morning’s focus was Back, Bicep & Core Work. Volume's been kicked up as notch and I’ve increased my calorie intake accordingly. Still keeping it clean. Well, mostly. A-Jay
  10. I'll watching for the new PB Story, Pics & Video. Good Luck A-Jay
  11. I like your style ~ And I can conquer. But if Mike yells or bashes his mellon off my wind screen one time, he'll be needing to re-arm his PFD. As for that last choice there, I don't know. That guy's pretty shady if you ask me . . . . A-Jay

And on the other end of the melon size scale, I have to wear a 'youth' hat because I have a peanut size squash. And the color options available are always a just a little bit zany . . . A-Jay
  13. Deeps Good - near or on a drop off may be better. Blade Bait + Weedy = Bad. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  16. That's quite a difference from 3.8:1 to 9 something . . . . I remember the 'reeling like a madman' - did it repeated in Oct south of the border fishing the Calcutta 300D. It's 5.8:1 but the big green ones can really move when they want to. Be using the big Tranx HG more next time. A-Jay
  17. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  18. Me too. And it's really all they have left. Unless the entire frame is made from actual carbon fiber, don't think we can get much 'lighter'. In what seems to be an effort to be the 'lightest', New Reels are getting so small now they barely hold a full cast of anything over 17 lb test. I'd love a reel that had the right width , capacity & strength - regardless of how light it is. I'm a grown *** man, I can still fish with a 12 oz reel ! All Day Even . . . A-Jay
  19. The line I got & returned was from 'Poor Fish' a vendor on Amazon, it was clearly 'REPACKAGE' something - I don't know what - nor do I care. But IT WAS NOT FACTORY SEALED like every spool I've purchased in the past - regardless or where. So there's that. A-Jay
  20. Right back at ya D1. A-Jay
  21. Maybe so ~ To be fair though, I do post fishing reports with pics & videos of me, actually fishing; and catching fish. And I honestly do attempt to be somewhat pleasant. Most of the time anyway. A-Jay
  22. Sure is - Seaguar web site my order is $420 plus shipping TW my order is $270 including shipping A-Jay
  23. Hope it's not be the mess I just sent back ! A-Jay
  24. It sure is - and what might be even worse is my sorry carcass order it ! I do not think it was used - just replace with an inferior (insert Cheaper) product). A-Jay (aka the sucker born every day)
  25. I'm fishing these baits in at least 15 feet all the way down to 40. Majority of the lakes I'm presenting blade baits in are deep, and super clear. *** Big Factor **** I do not fish blade baits on weedy Bottoms - EVER. This is a clean, sand, gravel or rock bottom presentation for me - and sand or pea gravel is The best. The bait MUST be sitting on the bottom at some point. The length of time it sits depends on the water temps & the bass. IME presenting blade baits it in any weed, grass or wood scenario is an exercise in futility. Besides there are other (more effectively fished)options for that - Like hair . . . . A-Jay
