  1. I like to "fish". Grew up fishing ponds & small lakes in New England. Then my 28 yr stint in the Coast Guard offered plenty of saltwater action. Inshore & especially offshore opportunities were many and I took full advantage of each & every one. Later I graduated to surf casting for Striped Bass - that one lasted a good 15 years and became quite an addiction. Have since retired to the North Woods of MI. And while chasing bass (mostly the brown variety) does occupy a good chunk of my time on the water, I'm not immune to angling for any one of the many other sweet water species that inhabit the cool, clean & deep water's here. Good Times. A-Jay
  2. I back plated the bracket to the deck mounting bolts - used S/S there as well. Also my motor comes off whenever the cover goes on so that thing is on & off there several times a season. A-Jay
  3. My dogs asked me to put this up out back ~ A-Jay
  4. Yup ~ I added one to the initial install of the Fortrex. I did replace the OE 'thumb screw' that secures the motor to the bracket. Didn't trust it. Went with a S/S bolt. A-Jay
  5. I thought of that - However after the necessary length reduction, I wouldn't have had sufficient rubber material left. Unit would have been bottoming out on the "Plastic" cylinder. Like the concept though. A-Jay

  7. I use a transom saver - don't really love it but I haven't found anything else that will work for me. Do like the M-Y Wedge - even ordered two (sorry OCD) when I first took delivery of the Lund. Just didn't fit - the long shaft Optimax does not tilt back far enough to make sufficient space to accommodate even the shortest wedge. The Owner refunded my $$ no problem. May revisit it once I re-power this fall. A-Jay

  9. I was throwing the 1/2 oz and it 'may' run a bit deeper but it's not like it crashed to the bottom or anything. Either way, I'm a big fan - I talked about what I was doing a bit right here . . . A-Jay

  12. Use tackle of sufficient capacity to handle the big one. And fish a Jig & Craw trailer around the docks, brush piles & sunken trees. Good Luck A-Jay
  13. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I see a solution to your dilemma. It's a two step process really. Step 1 ~ Stop fishing that body of water, never to return. Step 2 ~ Fish someplace else. Good Luck A-Jay
