Fishing with Confidence...
While confidence & attitude can & does play a role in fishing & in Life, so does Knowledge & Experience. Best attitude in the world will do little to overcome doing the wrong thing in the wrong place and at the wrong time. BUT - having fun while we're 'fishing' and acknowledging that we don't catch them all day everyday, can help an attitude out quite a bit as well. Perhaps cut yourself some slack A-Jay btw - " I am probably one of the better bank anglers on this lake." This attitude is probably holding you back. Definitely not improving your success

Thankful to be alive. Be careful out there this next couple of weekends.
Glad you're OK. It's important that boaters first, know there are rules and then what they are. Understanding how to "read" navigation lights, especially from a distance, is an integral part of boating; and not just at night. If you are by and large unfamiliar with this you may be an accident waiting to happen. In every meeting or crossing situation, daytime & during periods of limited visibility (doesn't have to be dark), Course changes should be early, decisive and in accordance with "Navigational Rules of the Road". So much so that ones intentions are Clear & Blatantly obvious to the other vessel. Small incremental course changes are very difficult to interpret making it a recipe for disaster. http://www.boatsafe.com/flash/reviewrules.html Again, Glad you're OK. A-Jay

Carolina Wren Nesting Help
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ My place is nestled in a nicely wooded area. Each spring / early summer we have a variety of nesters all over the place. Often times very close to the entrences / exits with heavy human & canine traffic. We just go about our business and let the chips fall where they may. Nature can be and is often pretty brutal. Young chicks have a lot more to fear out there than us & our dogs. I will say that I've learned to 'deter' the robins from nest building too close to the house or kennel. They can get a little testy once the chick come and we were tired of getting 'dive bombed' 10 times a day. A-Jay

Mount / Replica Alternative ~ Latest Antzl Project Additions
Thanks ~ All but one the fish pictures are 20 x 24. The hallway wall space where they're displayed has been dubbed "Bass Alley". My wife has done several of our dogs over the years that are various sizes depending on where we hung them. There's quite a variety of sizes available however. btw - they make great gifts. A-Jay

Mount / Replica Alternative ~ Latest Antzl Project Additions
How we each choose to commemorate important catches is certainly a personal choice. Mine is to get a customized canvas print made from my own photography. I’ve posted about these prints in the past and below are the latest additions to the “collection”. They include my PB smallie caught last September, a couple of DD bass from an awesome trip south of the border last November, along with a most memorable ‘double’ from that same trip. If you’re interested in having something of your own done (and you’re only limited by your own imagination), contact info is included below. The process is easy and relatively fast. Orders are printed within 3 business days of payment, then shipped free right to your door. Normal turnaround time from payment receipt to your wall is 6-12 days. Be Smart in the Heat ~
I will admit that I seem to have several of these symptoms once the the lakes up here start to freeze. Of course that's more about a lack of any Heat . . . . A-Jay

I like it. I have two of the MH/H casting sticks. The Dual Power blanks, multi piece rod that connects with several sections to create different actions. The Spigot Ferrule design creates rod piece connections that are stronger than traditional multi section rods and give rods pure crisp action. TAC Handle Provides increased grip in all fishing conditions, more durable than cork and provides enhanced grip when wet. Includes a hard travel tube Tube. The rod kit itself consists of 5 pieces which you can join together 3 pieces at a time to create 4 different rods. (This particular rod is a 7’4″ casting): (1) Butt End which includes the grip and reel seat and serves as the “base” for construction of the rod (2) Midsection pieces which will determine the action of the rod you want. For this rod the mid sections include a”Fast” and “Moderate Fast” blank. (2) Tip sections are then added to the butt end and the mid piece you select to create the power you want. In this case “Medium Heavy” or “Heavy”. Thus, the effective permutations I could end up with this particular 7’4″ rod are: Fast Action & Medium Heavy Power ( ~6.18 oz weight) Fast Action & Heavy Power ( ~6.27 oz weight) Moderate Fast Action & Medium Heavy Power ( ~6.06 oz weight) Moderate Fast Action & Heavy Power ( ~6.14 oz weight) What does this mean to you as an angler? It allows you to have a better tool for the job at hand regardless of where your random fishing adventure takes you. For example I’ve used the rod as a “Fast” action “Heavy” power rod for throwing some of my favorite soft plastics & Jigs. I’ve also used the rod as a “Moderate Fast” action “Medium Heavy” power to fish crank/rattle baits & topwaters with great success. Price is Very reasonable for what you get. Since they've been discontinued, they are becoming a little difficult to find. A-Jay

Mostly 3/32 to 1/8 oz hair jigs ~ Some 'light', open water Neko rigging. But I usually Neko in some cover so this stick is a little light for that. Super Sweet for that hair deal though. A-Jay
