  1. Trick or Treat ~ unfortunately, it's not a trick. Or a treat for that matter. A-Jay
  2. Can't say I blame him HOWEVER, Robert Kraft Really takes care of his Team & Players (ie TWO Private Team 747's) so along with the pay there are usually other factors involved - guess just not enough or soon enough for old Jimmy G - wish him the best - except when they play the Pats. A-Jay
  3. Didn't see either of those coming ~ A-Jay
  4. Now that's Bad . . . Wonder what a plug knocker for a plug knock would have to look like . . . . . A-Jay
  5. Maybe 1 or 2 a season, if that. The Plug Knocker is your friend. If I didn't use a trace of wire leader, I'd most likely lose half the baits I throw - especially the $$$ ones. A-Jay
  6. Way to get the Brown Bass ~ And sweet hat(s). A-Jay

  9. Very Nicely done my friend ~ Great way to break her in too. Here's to many years of memories for you. Congrats Shimmy A-Jay

Bait color is such an interesting topic. One that has been debated here ad nauseam. When it comes to soft plastics, with the exception of perhaps swimbaits, they are presented by and large at, on or at least close to the bottom, my first, simplest and by far most effective method of choosing color is to come as close as I can to matching the color of the bottom. Second is to use a bait color where the top of the bait is close to the bottom color and the belly or bottom of the bait does not, but instead has ‘some flash’. This usually means some type of brighter / contrasting color; ie, chartreuse, white etc. A Spik-It bait color pen comes in handy right here. Breaking down the browns & greens, or any other color for that matter, besides being way to complicated for this simple minded Basshead, IMO is not necessary. If the fish are there, and they are going to eat, size, shape and presentation have all proven at least for me, to be more of a causative factor than color – most days. YMMV A-Jay
  11. @jmcarriere ~ Not in any order - just a list. I’ll admit that I am Far from a Neko Rig expert - what I have found is that the Neko rig is a decent ‘finesse-way’ to cover water ( relatively quickly) and has accounted for some nice numbers of fish and the occasional plus size bass. However, when I have located bass in an area or spot, and they are eating a bait presented in this manner, most any Neko rigged bait that is the same size & shape (and sometimes color) will also illicit strikes. So there is most likely many effective additions that could be made to my list. These are the ones that I have had decent success with in the clear waters I fish. YMMV A-Jay
  12. That is 3 Super Sick Sacks ~ ! Congrats A-Jay
  13. A while back @WRB mentioned that he liked Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo Nylon Line, so I tried it. I Really like it - as a non-Fluorocarbon option it's solid. (Thanks Tom ) Sort of fishes like fluorocarbon, especially sensitivity wise, I think this one does float however. Either way, been throwing it for two months, been very successful. Enough in fact that I plan on using the 22 & 25lb south of the border next week. A-Jay
  14. You guys seem a little sensitive . . . . . Don't despair, I'll be sure to file a full report complete with full details, Pic & perhaps a little video. A-Jay
  15. Congrats Sir ~ btw - your winter just got exponentially Loooooooooooger ~ A-Jay
  16. While I do not have the exact model Lund - My Pro-V Bass boat does have the Pro Trax system as well. I would not recommend attempting to attach a mount & a 10" Helix unit to it. The weight of a quality mount & the unit itself really needs to be "securely" fastened (insert BOLTED). I don't think the Pro Trax is designed to provide that. While a vessel is at speed there is a considerable level of vibration & stress transmitted through the mount to the connection point; especially in conditions other than flat calm. Having insufficient mounting rarely ends well and often includes some type of failure, damage, possible loss of the unit over the side and perhaps even personal injury. My advice would be to invest in quality mount that secures to the deck to the right of the console. BalZout Electronic & T-H Marine Electronics both make quality mounts. http://www.balzoutllc.com/humminbird-mounts http://thmarine.com/th-marine-products/boating-accessories/electronics-mount A-Jay

  18. Before making any modifications to the bait - Hang the trailer of your choice on it (think slender with no boot tail) and Go fish it ! See how it runs - remember low & slow on the retrieve. You might not need to change anything. If you're using a reel with 7:1 ratio or above - you'll really need to focus on slowing done to ensure you're offering the bait to work it's magic - the slower the better. If you try to speed reel it - the bait may either roll or other wise not perform as effectively. Good Luck A-Jay

  21. Although I would never take the pretty decent fall I've already had for granted, I'm going to be hunting more of these green bass - so I'm OK with leaving this fishery a little early. A-Jay
  22. Ya ~ You know what it's like . . . . . I think next season I'm going to have a banana at the ready and when I hook up I'll start the GoPro and stuff the banana in my pie hole . . . May not even peel it first. I can already tell - It's gonna be a long cold winter. A-Jay
  23. Perhaps J, but I think the spider thing was an actual deal too. btw - I eat a banana with breakfast Almost Every Day - except the mornings I'm going fishing - then it's something else. Yup - I'm a freak. A-Jay
  24. First off - I fixed that one for you ~ Second, as to "the Myth" - back in the day of sailing ships - old timey sailors avoided bananas on boats because they emit Ethylene which causes other fruits around them to ripen quickly (and then to rot). Which on a long voyage is not good. Also I think there was a highly venomous "banana spider' that hid in the bunches & was killing deck hands on these ships as well. Can't say how that turned into a "Bad Luck" thing. A-Jay
