  4. I'm sorry to have to admit that I too, was (and still am) addicted to the Briny Sea. Hunting The Striped bass in the dark of night was were I found my solace. Never a sweet water did I visit. I spent more dark moon-less nights hopping the NJ rock jetties than I can count. And It was AWESOME ! Sorry, hope you can find some decent sweetwater. A-Jay
  5. Solid advice ~ A-Jay
  6. I have them as well- They'll produce. Give them a shot ~ try moving the ring down a little closer to the head. A-Jay
  7. It's the O.S.P BLADE JIG ~ a Japanese Company http://www.osp-lures.com/product/o-s-p-blade-jig/ A-Jay
  8. I slice them clean at the edge with a razor edge. Haven't had a problem with them fitting poorly. Seem OK to me but I guess you could glue them. Might hamper any future box divider adjustment. A-Jay
  9. Hello Cyril and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ btw - I lived in Cape May from 94- 07. I loved it ! A-Jay
  10. If there is a better Neko Rig bait than that 7" deal - I haven't found it. A-Jay
  11. Me too ~ btw , I fixed that one for you. A-Jay
  12. I wrote off FC after the initial run came out and anyone who tried those first ones knows why - they were bad. My Spinning gear applications are all Braid (and leader) No Exceptions - Any & All Nylon there is just a PIA. Revolving spool tackle is a mix of braid, mono & I've tried a few coploy products; as copoly stocks were exhausted, I chose not to resupply. As the most recent FC products had reportedly improved, and despite swearing it off, I gave FC another shot (last season). I found that I liked it for sub-surface moving baits presented on a moderate or moderate fast stick; mostly treble hook baits, spinnerbaits & vibrating jigs. As long as I am willing to condition the line as needed, re-tie often and of course pay the piper, FC had become a viable tool for me. That said, FC presents less than 50% of my baits and Braid & Mono share the majority of the work load. Finally, whenever I am fishing in a place that is known for super large / fish of a life time Trophy Bass, I use Mono. I just make shorter casts. A-Jay
  13. For me, the bait excels around grass. So perhaps think of a Vibrating Jig / Chatter Bait like a crank bait that you can effectively present in very close proximity or even right in, most all aquatic vegetation. A-Jay
  14. Fish at night and you can use whatever line you want. A-Jay
  15. You learned some things (experience). You shared this and no doubt helped others. You'll be fine. A-Jay
  16. You're a good egg Alan. If I do get out on Saturday it will be a week earlier than last season's first trip and will most likely be an Old Town Adventure. When there are fish brought to the net, there should be pics (maybe some video) and a report either way ~ Hang in there. A-Jay
  17. This is my favorite show - too bad Old George P didn't have video A-Jay
  18. Nice Selection ~ A-Jay
  19. Braid use for one ounce plus baits ~ Pros & Cons Pro's - Long Casts, Solid Hook sets Cons - If test is too low baits snap off on casts, Could pull hooks on treble hook baits, Mono use for one ounce plus baits Pros & Cons Pro's - Line rarely snaps of on casts. Treble hooks may not pull out during fight Cons - Line stretch on long cast may prohibit effective hook sets, Reel spool capacity dwindles pretty fast at 20lb test & up. Six of one - half a dozen of the other. A-Jay
  20. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Congrats on the New Rig. A-Jay
  21. And There it is ~ Boom. ICE OUT ! Sweet. It's only one lake so far but it's a good one - SMB city. Of course, the 40mph winds, 20 degree air temps and 6-9 inches of wet snow included in tomorrows forecast is sort of a buzz kill. But hey, the weekend's expected to be in the mid to high 60's - so unless it all freezes up again in the next two days - Come Saturday - who's going fishing ? A-Jay
  22. Buy good gear - Take care of it - Have a fall back plan. A-Jay
  23. Hello & Welcome to Bass Resource ~ @Darren. has offered solid advice. Another option is straight 10 Fluorocarbon ~ A-Jay
  24. Color or Scent ? A-Jay
