Well its April 16th and Synthetic Worms don't work in Wallkill River this early
Those synthetic worms can be a little tricky to fish. Sounds like you're having fun though. Good Luck on your next trip(s). A-Jay

Avid X broke a guide, what to do?
I recommend the St Croix Gold Star + Upgrade Plan. I've used it and have been a satisfied customer. http://stcroixrods.com/service-warranty/service-warranty-policies/ As for rod a recommendation - your interest in finding a stick that will fish both 1/8 & 1 oz well may be a little optimistic. Either way here's a couple of killer sticks that feature Fuji® K-Series Concept Tangle Free guides with Alconite® rings and polished frames. Ideal for super braid, mono and fluorocarbon lines, the sloped frame and ring “shed” tangles before they become a problem. TBC71MHF / JIGS/BAITS: A super rod for searching open water with big spinnerbaits. It’s also ideal for jigs, worms and working heavy cover. This Rod is rate as Fast. TBC71MHXF / SWIM JIG FINESSE: Excels with swim jigs and smaller jigs worked in heavy cover. Its unique design combines a very powerful butt section with a light and sensitive tip. This rod is rated X Fast. Good Luck A-Jay

NHL Playoffs
X2 ~ WAY Too many guys playing their first NHL games - not too mention PLAY OFF games. Playing against teams loaded with time tested & grizzled Veterans will expose inexperience in most any sport but especially in hockey. It's been a decent season and I'm looking forward to the next one, but barring another 'Miracle on Ice' this ones all but over. A-Jay

NHL Playoffs
Can't argue with that sentiment. But the B's best hockey is a month behind them. This team has been hit by too many injuries (too key role players) to expect to be competitive, especially in the playoffs. So even if they manage to somehow get by what up to this point has been a pretty bad Ottawa team, unless they get some guys back, the 'anything can happen' is a nice sentiment but not realistic for the Bruins I'm afraid. Lake/dock owners & fisherman very rude no respect
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Your plight is not uncommon. However, to suggest that all fisherman are jerks, may be as unfair as calling all lake front property owners nice people. There are always a few bad apples in every bunch, even when the rest of the farm is usually pretty solid. There are official & legal steps one can take to address legitimate property damage. Taking the time to register to this fantastic form, only to make the above post, is probably not one of them. Hope you can stick around and contribute something constructive. A-Jay

Ice has been out for a week or so up here. Still, it's remarkable how fast it warms up too. Some places already have water temps close to 50. A-Jay

Scrounger Jigs?
The 3/8 OZ head with the 'long' bill is a fan favorite. Fished Low & Slow (Right on or almost on the bottom). Slow Steady pace retrieve with an occasional stop to re-acquire the bottom has been best for me. Remarkably snag resistant. Almost any 4-7 inch slender plastic works. Some Swimbait / boot tail baits do not track well. Did I mention fish it S L O W .. .. .. . . . .. . . . . . . A-Jay

13 Apr 17 Pro-V Bassing
Thanks - I have some & do fish them - with some results. No 100 fish days though. I'm a fan of the bait and usually do OK with them late season. This lake has a very soft & weed covered bottom, not typically the right stuff for the blade. A-Jay

What do you do for a living?
I am retired USCG, but I'd like to suggest the PFT Field. Professional Food Taster. The hours are reasonable & I think there's a decent dental plan, but the lunch breaks are very short. A-Jay
