  1. Also There is an HG model available in this most recent version - The 6.0 vs the 5.0 may not equate to much in the way of inches per turn but on the retrieve it does feel a little 'faster'. A-Jay
  2. Had a chance to check them both out side by side recently. Both very nice reels. The picky side of me didn't like the handle (knob deal) on the older model. Bought the new one ~ 3000. Love the 'paddle style' handle. A-Jay
  3. This one's been taking care of business for me. Big Fan A-Jay
  4. Thank You very much Paul The Temptation Is Real. A-Jay
  5. Nice Job Paul ~ Could sure use a little of that "grind" myself right about now. Congrats A-Jay

  8. Surely you Jest ~ I've been know to offer up items in the past, but this is not one of those items. In other words, not a chance. Sorry Bud. A-Jay Sent you a pm ~ A-Jay
  9. As a Huge fan of that bait - Prior to it being discontinued, I was very fortunate & managed to secure a rather sizably supply. A-Jay
  10. Never had a problem myself. A-Jay
  11. Yes ~ Built on a revolutionary 3D chassis, the Elite™ Inflatable PFD stays put at high speeds,( big selling point for me) lets you move the way you want and NEED to and provides automatic inflation powered by Hydrostatic Inflator Technology. The 3D chassis reduces drag at speed, the wide shoulder system eliminates neck fatigue, a wicking mesh liner improves all-day comfort, dual-side adjusters ease fit and an exclusive sleek inflation handle prevents snags. The bright fluorescent yellow-green inflation cell provides 28 lb buoyancy when inflated and improves visibility in a rescue scenario. A-Jay
  12. I have a half dozen of the Plano 3771 boxes. I'm a fan. Initially purchased them to maximize bait storage space for trips south of the border. They worked very well by offering an organized space effective option; 6 of these will just about take the same space as 4 of the standard 3700 box. Clearly, baits that are wider or thicker side to side, will not fit in these, but Baits like RES, jerkbaits, jigs and the like are all prime candidates. I still use them today for both use in the tackle bag I fish with on the Old Town canoe I fish from; where again space in fairly limited and in the Lund Pro-V bass. The Lund's Pop-Up Tackle system integrated into the aft deck, hold 9 standard 3700 boxes, but will swallow 12 of the 3771 quite easily - That's a nice up grade right there. I still use the standard 3700 for baits that need it (and there are plenty) but this one's a nice & viable option when looking for a thinner box. YMMV A-Jay
  13. Congrats ~ This winter I've been at the mercy of the Bait Monkey. It's like a race - Ice out or Bankruptcy - which one will come first - Looks like it's gonna be close .. .. .. .. .. May have to sell off a couple of dogs - but I'm pretty sure my wife would figure that one out - eventually. J/K A-Jay
  14. Definitely Two of my all time favorite's - And learning as much as I can about the life, habits, food, needs & preferences of each, has paid off in Bass .. .. .. .. A-Jay
  15. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ St Croix make a nice stick and both new Mojo Bass & the Avid line have a decent following. As a fan of that brand I recently purchased an Avid X myself. It seems close to my LTB rods in both built & feel. Time will tell. In reality, most everything you've mentioned "works". Some of the fun is fishing it, and then tweaking it a bit here and there to make it work for you. So in the end my suggestion is to purchase the gear & use the line that you think is right for you and your fishing and see how it goes. A-Jay
  16. Top one's in most of the better Brown Bass Lakes and the bottom ones from over by the Nuc Plant A-Jay
  17. Can't do the music out in the boat. Too much going on that I feel I want & need to hear. Some of it is a safety issue, something that sounds off can often be signs that there is about to be a problem (ie the out board, the trolling motor, something in a reel, something in either prop - just can't ignore that stuff). Then there is the ambient sounds of the outdoors itself which can & often does reveal clues as to where & sometimes even how to get on a few more bass. Surely don't want to miss out on any of that. Besides, it all sounds pretty cool - to least to me. Loons sound pretty cool. A-Jay
  18. Hello Rob and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  19. Agreed Roger ~ I'll also say that any effectiveness of my submission above is dependent on getting a passing grade in that type of "Homework". And the Bass will tell me what that grade may actually be . . . . . . . A-Jay
  20. I've got the Avid X 7' ML spinner heading my way. Should be here in the next few days or so. Plan on it being my designated drop shot rod. I'll let you know how it goes. Of course, I'm still iced in pretty good up here so it'll be a few weeks or so. A-Jay
  21. I think what you're going to find out is that there are very few effective ways to speed up early season, cold water bass fishing. With the water that cold, the bass's reaction time is pretty slow, so if you're presentation isn't moving at least that slow, (or even slower), you may find the same results you had last spring. I'll say a jerkbait & a tube are a great 1 - 2 punch for early season results. Jerkbait stays a little higher in the water column and the tube allows you to cover the bottom quite well. Mr Zona has some info too . . . . A-Jay
  22. Yup ~ never tried the KVD sticks but anything that guy uses . . . . . . . . A-Jay
  23. The VMC Boxer Jighead & the VMC Flat Shad Jighead are both very good. Both models sport an effective double barb on the shank keeper as well as Premium1X strong needle point hooks, complete with a forged shank, hi-carbon steel construction and traditional round bend also deliver excellent hooking capabilities. A-Jay
  24. That's a heck of day right there Paul ~ Gorgeous Bass Congrats A-Jay
  25. Snow & wind today ~ Bogus. A-Jay
