Most Productive Baits ~ A Seasonal Review
6th Sense Custom Lures makes a lipless bait called a S N A T C H 70FRS. The FRS stands for Faint Rattling System. I've had decent results with it. It's a little wider / thicker profile lure than the RES and does not possess the same slack line sinking action or swim on the sink either. But they eat it none the less. http://www.6thsenselures.com/******-70frs A-Jay

Challenge to all members new and old.
I learned that "Bass Fishing" has changed quite a bit since I started. I also learned that I may have forgotten almost as much as I've learned along the way. A-Jay

Catching larger fish in a school of dinks .
For me, Nothings set in stone on this one. However, I have come to believe a couple of concepts to often be the case. 1. The biggest bass command the best feeding spots and these are almost always just a little bit deeper. Especially in the clearer waters here. 2. It's about the bait. If the biggest bass are eating the same bait as the smaller fish, then there's at least a decent chance of getting one (or more). But if the bigger fish are keying in on 4-6 inch perch & not dragon fly nymphs - then I'm looking for the perch. Edit : If the Bigger bass are actually EATING the smaller bass - that sort of changes things up a bit as well. A-Jay

Most Productive Baits ~ A Seasonal Review
Nice ~ while fishing Lake Baccarac we had a big time rattle bait bite for 3 or 4 days - Our Guide Manual, was telling me to set the hook well before I actually knew I had one on - said he could hear it. Apparently besides having hands of stone, I'm fairly deaf as well. A-Jay Seems to happen less to me if I put the first few fish in the box instead of releasing them. Start a new thread if you want. Most Productive Baits ~ A Seasonal Review
Indeed - mostly LM & SMB but Old Mr Tooth Face Pike has done a fair amount of finish removal as well. Which is why this bait is fished exclusively on a small trace of wire - all day - every day. A-Jay

Winter kayak clothing
A Wading Belt. There are many different types / kinds. Some offer back support, the simplest ones do not. Essentially it's simply a belt worn fairly tightly at the waist. When worn properly (which is easy) it does a good job of preventing waders from filling up. A Dry suit is really the way to go though. A-Jay

Most Productive Baits ~ A Seasonal Review
Yes Sir - this one. Picked it up the year the silent models came out. I think I made a post about it a while back. Either way - the faint click, click, click it has, rather than the loud rattle or the Big Knock is often times all they want. I've change the hooks on this one so many times I've lost count. It started out as Gold Sexy Shad but I'm thinking the color plays less of a role these days. There's virtually no paint left on it now and I think it's missing an eye ! This is one I might actually go swimming for. A-Jay

Power, Finesse, or Both?
Sometimes Power, Sometimes Finesse & sometimes Both. And I'll even go as far as to say that much of what I do might even be called Power Finesse . . . . Deep Clear water dictates it. A-Jay

Your 2017 Fishing Goals
Cool Thread ~ Going to keep My 2017 fishing "Goals " simple. 1. Stay Safe & Have Fun 2. Remember to look around and appreciate the truly fantastic Beauty of the places I get to fish. 3. Fish & Learn two more big water lakes. 4. Continue to learn & use my electronics effectively, especially the new 360 imaging. 5. Fish at night a bit more this coming Summer. 6. Not planning to take on any "New" techniques in 2017, but hope to fish a jig a lot more. I kind of got away from it last season and I don't really know why. A-Jay

When do you fish a Chatterbait?
And you've posted many a great bass pic to prove it ~ I rarely have anything close to dirty of stain water up here - closest thing is perhaps a little tannic and whatever rain runoff does - but mostly greater than 5 feet A-Jay
