  1. OK - How about just pick the picture of the one you like. A-Jay
  2. I have no problem believing that if one angler can locate a bass holding spot on his / her own - there is certainly reason to think another can do the same thing. A-Jay
  3. Just read through this one - a lot of gems in here. However, I believe quite a bit of it would be some what challenging for a novice and even a some what experienced bass angler to wrap his head around - like me for instance. After reviewing it all and after sitting back for a few moments to think about my own personal fishing, how, where & why I fish, what & where I fish (and have results), - I'll say that over the course of an entire season, I will have my best results when I can establish a Pattern while fishing water's I am familiar with (Memories). This doesn't mean I'm helpless on new water but by & large it usually takes less time to get a limit on lakes & in areas I'm familiar with. Clearly this gives me a Huge Appreciation for the Professional Tournament Anglers that can & routinely do dominate on lakes they are fishing for the first time - of course that is a relative term, as there is usually a few "Practice Days" before hand which I guess, Offers them an opportunity to "Fish Recent Memories" Good Thread. 4. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  5. Be sure to book mark this thread for yourself so you can come back to it later. Might be useful after you have some time on the water with your gear and you can compare all this conjecture to your actual fishing based results. A-Jay
  6. Each model is describe here ~ https://mustangsurvival.com/ This can help you choose what may be best for your particular Life Saving needs. There are some basic differences in buoyancy & fit - where the jacket is designed to stay on the wearer if expelled from the vessel at high speed. These have a "3D Chassis" as the back rather than a single strap. FYI ~ I'm wearing the Elite 28 (with engine kill cord) whenever the 200 Optimax it fired up. A-Jay
  7. "Gan Craft Junk" now there's a term you don't hear everyday . . . Sweet Reels. A-Jay
  8. "Only The Good Die Young" Channeling my inner Billy Joel right there - 1977 was a good year. And loosing discontinued baits isn't even remotely funny. A-Jay
  9. Hello Bill and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  10. Nicely Done hamma ~ Really Enjoyed that one. However my particular reaction to losing a favorite bait is rourinely far less eloquent. A-Jay
  11. Hello Alex and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Can't help you much on your swimbait fabrication quest but Good Luck. Quick question though - Why are you losing $1000 of lures ? A-Jay
  12. A-Jay replied to CrustyMono's topic in Tournament Talk
Land it - but mostly to get my bait back . . . A-Jay
  13. This is The Best Bass Fishing site & especially forum on the internet. If you'd like to contribute to the community I bet the membership here would enjoy it. You can submit all you want (with in the forum rules of course) and as long as we can figure it out, spelling really isn't that important. Pictures & video's are welcome too and they can be from anywhere & time of the year - not just winter in NJ. Additionally, no one needs to know your first or your last name. So Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  14. Thanks ~ That one was a couple of Gobies short of 5lbs - A-Jay

  17. You Sir have caught some Fantastic fish ~ ! Thank you for the link as well. IMO one word covers this completely ~ IMPRESSIVE. Congrats A-Jay
  18. OK - You might be interested but you might not like what I Prefer. Please remember this is what I like & you did ask . . I don't use high speed reels much - for anything - most of mine are 6.6:1. I use Composite sticks for most all my cranking. So nothing in your list would work for me there. Beyond that, and using your list, I'd use the H stick and Lews reel for frogs, jigs & weighted plastics. I'd use the St Croix for spinnerbaits & buzzbaits. You can choose the reels you like. That's all I've got Bud. Good Luck A-Jay
  19. Well, essentially you have 3 HM rods & 1 H stick with that you have 4 7:1 (at least) gear ratio casting reels - with the Lews being a wide spool that yields more line capacity. Don't get bummed out about it - Just go fishing - mix & match your tackle until you find what works best for whatever applications you want to fish. This is the fun part. The size & type line you select for each will play a role here as well. Just for starters the shorter rod may offer better casting accuracy so might be a good choice for presenting baits to "Targets". Clearly the H stick is going to be one you'll get the most out of when used where it's powerful characteristics will be beneficial an not a problem. After that - it's a wash. And much of it comes done to personal preference. I could tell you what I like but you might hate it & vise versa. Enjoy A-Jay
  20. As I'm not familiar with much of your tackle, I'm unfortunately not going to be able to offer much in the way of assistance as you attempt to match your tackle to the applications you want to fish. But I will say that I believe part of what is making this difficult for you is that you're doing it backwards. Instead for purchasing tackle and then trying to figure out how to use it, I'd recommend that you decide what presentations, applications & baits you want to utilize and THEN purchase the gear that best fit those deals. It's a whole lot easier. Good Luck A-Jay
  21. Very Nice Double ~ I've been having a hard time even getting a single bite on that ever loving rig ! Congrats A-Jay
  22. Nice Bass ~ PB's are The Best ! Congrats A-Jay
  23. Thank you - check out The Antzl Project on FB https://www.facebook.com/TheAntzlProject/ It's all done through there & e-mail. The O/O Kevin Washburn is a friend of my wife Lynn's. He's hooked up many a human with outrageously cool canvas prints - they come in many sizes. It's really only a matter of sending him a quality Digital pic (email) and tell him what your looking for and he'll do the rest. Prices are fair & a lot cheaper than any type of mount. Of course it's not three dimensional either. He's quite a creative guy and a few times we've send him a pic and asked him to "work something up" always pleased with the results. Check it out. A-Jay
  24. I try to stay in "shape" all season but especially during the hard water period. A-Jay
