  7. First Off ~ Thank You for your Service. Secondly - I'll say that I feel much the same way. And Lastly - If you haven't been doing it already, I'd like to encourage you (and every bass angler), if the opportunity is there, go bass fishing at Night. It's a way to take this great sport to the next level. All of the feelings & excitement your senses experience during the day will be heightened & Stimulated in a whole new way. The first few times out, ones intestinal fortitude is tested a bit, but after that, Night Ops will take your angling to a place you never thought possible when fishing only day light hours. A-Jay
  8. Don't know of any really. But there's nothing wrong with just getting out there and figuring it out on you're own. Believe it or not - before "Videos" that's how we did it - wasn't always pretty . . . . . . A-Jay

  12. I went with the 2/0 KVD Mustad short Shank Triple Grips on the 10XD for our Mexican trip last June with 00 mod where Deep Cranking caught a ton of above average bass and they worked perfectly. I also up graded the split rings to a #4 Owner Hyper Wire job. btw - While fishing the 8XD (with 1/0's) I hooked a 7 lb fish and brought it to the boat. While an entire school of 7 plus size fish followed it up. Never saw anything like it before and probably will never see it again - I almost pooped my pants. A-Jay
  13. I purchased several extra spools for my casting reels. Having several of the same model reel (with different gear ratios) where the spools are all interchangeable is very nice. I can switch just about any rig from mono to coploy or braid pretty quickly. Also allow me to "Rescue" a rig in the event of a professional over run (not that that ever happens - a very handy option, especially at night. For my reels, the spool assemblies were $18 bucks. I use a sharpie to label the type / test and I'm good to go. This deal was originally used during trips south of the border, where maximizing gear space & usage is at a premium. Worked like a charm. No Extra spinning reel spools for me - All My rigs are braid - always. A-Jay

  21. Well said ~ btw - with preset speeds, one speed does always seem be just a little too slow ~ and the next one will always be too fast. I HATE THAT ! A-Jay
