Cyber-Theft
Not that I'm careless or make any unusual or purchases that would be considered "risky" (whatever that means) but in the last say 5 years or so I've had Both credit cards & debit card accounts hacked or the numbers stolen or whatever you want to call it - Several times. To the point now where I numb to it - I have the process of recovering the funds down pat. First time some fine human jammed a credit card for 17 separate $810 charges for something in like Bermuda - I'm betting airline tickets - Maxed of the card. USAA & Bank of America ALWAYS take care of it. I've had lengthy phone conversations with the Fraud Department of both institutions - and according to them - there's nothing I can do about. I was told not to be careless with my information but to just go about my business. Seems to them it's just the cost of doing business. I actually opened a line of credit to use only in these situations - I call it my "Fraud Protection card". I only use it when necessary while I'm waiting for one of the other New cards to arrive in the mail. TIP - Most Banks have some kind of alert you can sign up for where you get an e-mail Every time an account is used - also you can get daily balance checks emailed as well - I have that now on EVERYTHING and know about every transaction seconds after it's made. Highly recommended and a nice piece of mind. Also, just to speed up the process, Always ask your financial institution to Express mail replacement cards - usually they'll do it free of change. Otherwise - it's could be 2 weeks in the mail A-Jay

Help getting kick started with plastics and jigs in ponds
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The information offered above seems so simple ~ but that's the beauty of it. A quote from the infamous past BR member (and the man I credit for helping me find this site) Low Budget Hooker says it ALL. "Fishing like this, with soft plastics in general, will build skills that will help you learn most other baits with ease. This is a "slow" type of fishing. The hardest, (mentally-patience-wise) yet one of the most productive. Follow these instructions to a "T" and success will be eminent. Get this tactic under your belt and you'll be surprised how ahead of the game you are when you move on to other types of baits and lures. Most important: Pay attention to every little detail. You will be picking things up (retaining in memory) without even knowing it." A-Jay

Quantum Accurist PT vs Pflueger Supreme
I've never owned or fished with the Pflueger casting reels - do love the spinner however. I have & fish a couple of Quantum PT Accurist casting reels - along with over two dozen other Quantum casting & spinning reels. My experience with the brand spans several years and has been quite positive in every respect; from the quality & durability of the products to the customer service. In fact I purchased a new one just last night (QUANTUM TOUR TKVD150HPTH Limited Edition ~ sweet reel, one of my favorites - have six). Your experience may be different. My advice, buy what you want, fish it and see for yourself. A-Jay

I almost always bring way too much - But if I position it correctly & counter balance it properly, I'm usually OK. A-Jay

What size split rings for a 5/8oz jerkbait?
When it come to suspending baits, adding / subtracting weight by switching out hook & / or split rings usually entails some trial & error. I'll admit that I'm not exactly sure what is meant by making a jerkbait work more natural. But will add that depending on the bait and what you're trying to accomplish, split ring modification often results in a fairly minor altering of a baits action. That maybe what you're looking for. Up scaling or down sizing treble hooks will usually result in more of a change in action than doing the split rings alone. Again, it depends on the bait and what you're looking for. A couple more factors to take into consideration and that will also affect the way the bait works is the water temperature and the line you choose to use. As mentioned above Suspend dots & strips are another way to tune a baits action when you're looking for something other than the "out of the box" presentation. As for the hook size on a Smithwick - Perfect 10 uses #4 trebles , Elite 8 & standard Rogues use #4 trebles. Split rings, not 100% sure but I believe it's size #2 and #3 respectively. A-Jay

Easy way to sell rods?
Not exactly sure what is meant by an "Easy Way" to sell rods. If you're referring to not having to ship them then an add on a local buy & sell site may be the way to go. Sale here implies "Local Pick Up". If you're looking to send your gear to a good home - there's no better place than right here on the BR Fishing Flea Market forum. A-Jay
