  8. Just got a response from Lund about this boat ~ A-Jay Hello Mr Excited like a School Boy ~ (OK I added that part) They will start manufacturing the Pro-V Bass the beginning of Oct. The dealers have already recieved information about it as well, but I am not sure if they have pricing for it yet. I can't give price quotes here from the factory, so I am not able to give you a price for it. We hope to have our website updated mid-Sept. the last I heard, and our catalog sometime in Oct. I had the chance to take a test ride in it at the dealers meeting two weeks ago. I have never been in a bass boat, so I have nothing similar to compare it with, but I was impressed with the smooth, dry ride. (and fast!) Judging by the amount of inquiries I have had on it this week, it is going to be a very popular boat I think! 9. An often overlooked surface presentation many places (except FLA) is a Swimbait type bait weightless on an EWG hook slow rolled right over the Old Fat Ladies head. Reation Innovations Skinny Dipper, Gambler Big Easy, and Z-Man Grass Kickerz are all solid choices. A-Jay

  13. Don't see the need. This is a Bass site first & fore most - the few "other" categories currently displayed are sufficient. A-Jay
  14. One of my favorite deep water presentation. A-Jay
  15. I use this technique at times & in places where I can't get a crankbait down that far and caught my first Double Digit bass doing it. Rolled a 1 ounce spinnerbait up a sweep rocky ledge and the bass choked a 1 ounce bait in about 20 ft. I have better results with a faster retrieve than I do "Slow Rolling". I almost always have to fish Up a drop or long point. It's the best way to be able to use some speed and still maintain some proximity to the bottom. Sometimes a technique called "Stroking" works well; involves fishing a big spinnerbait in the same manner as a Big Spoon. The same principles apply; a heavy spinnerbait is used, at least one ounce, and it's mainly a deep water tactic - 20 to 35 feet of water. Heavy tackle is required, and the upstroke with the spinnerbait is hard and fast, somewhat similar to hauling off to set the hook. Make a long cast and as soon as you feel the spinnerbait hit the bottom (the line will go slack), wind in any excess line, then pull the rod like you're making a strong hookset, lifting the bait up 4 or 5 feet. Then let it drop again and if you're lucky, a bass will pick it up on the way back down. Repeat until you get the spinnerbait back to the boat. Make no mistake, this is a strenuous way to fish, and it will strain your tackle to the max. It requires a stiff rod, heavy line, a gutsy reel that can take the strain. and a stout wired spinnerbait with a beefy hook. A .040 to .045 wire arm is best for extra strength and durability. I have resorted to customizing my own baits for this specific deal. Good Luck A-Jay
  16. Great Bass Capt Shane ~ ! Congrats A-Jay
  17. The past 2 weeks has seen a very strong pike bite here in Northern MI. In many of my home waters, the bass have virtually vanished and it's been a Major Pike Fest. I enjoy catching them here & there but I'll be happy when the bass bite comes back on. A-Jay
  18. I grew up in Boston. For many years, I chased striped bass up & down the east coast from North Caronilna to Maine. There's a lot to learn and much of it revolves around the migration & habitat. This is where the saltwater model is quite a bit different from the freshwater version. The two sites linked below have a ton of useful information to help you out. btw - it's really tough to beat live bait for trophy stripers. 19. Fishing from shore does present a few challenges and bait selection plays a role so it simply must be considered. A chatterbait / vibrating jig is a solid choice. It's fairly easy to fish, can be fished effectively at various depths and is surprisingly snag resistant. The Strike King Rage blade is a good bait and when paired with a 4-5 inch swim bait type trailer makes a heck of a fish catcher. Also since you are familiar with a Texas rig, and are considering a jig (which as you can probably tell from the responses - IS A MUST) you could add a skirt to your favor Texas rigged bait and you'll have a Texas rigged jig. This bait has accounted for a TON of Quality bass for me and just as important - I almost NEVER snag it up. (See Pic below) Good Luck A-Jay
