  1. BassChump, I would recommend that you go fishing anyways regardless of the pressure. I fish a very difficult body of water and I thought I would never catch a fish. but then when I finally was able to understand the fish I was hauling them in the boat. When you say that the fish just stop biting in the middle of the day is probably because they moved out of the area that you are fishing to find heavy cover or deep water. I like to fish heavy grassmats in the high heat of the middle of the day. I will also go out to the deeper part of the river and find deep water structure and good drop-offs. Then I will throw deep cranks and jigs and large worms. I will fish it very slowly. During the hot weather that is where the big'ens will hold. But you have to slow down your presentation. 8-)
  2. This is very funny!!! My grandfather owns a farm that I grew up on and for years there was never any problems. But then when people started building on my grandfathers farm that he sold they started causeing pronlems saying the farm stinks and we make a mess on the roads and this that and the other. I'm glad someone finally stood up about this subject!! I think it is great!!!!

Tournament fishermen usually don't care about throwing dead fish back. It is not right and should not be tolerated!!!! But the head of the clubs never say anything. I fish a lot of tournaments at Leesylvania and I always see guys throwing dead fish back. They throw them in and walk away like they didn't know they were dead. It is aggervating but no one ever does anything about it. My first tourney there this year I spoke up and the guy got all crappy with me and started to cause a scene and I told him it just wasn't right. > > > But with me being a Deputy I was also fishing with another Deputy and he told me just to chill out about it because there is nothing anyone was going to do. Well he was right I went to the tournament director and still no one said or did anything. So now I just move on. It is bullsh*t but since no one will do anything what can I do??? > > > >
  4. The only time I help someone with a tackle issue is when they ask me. I do not like to tell anyone how to fish or what to buy(I let the bait monkey do his work). But if they ask I will help them out as much as I possibly can. I ran into an older gentleman with his grandson one day at my local Wal-mart and they were looking through the same section in the fishing isle as I was. The older man asked me how experienced I was with bass fishing and I hooked them up with everything they would need for a day on the lake and a great thing was I was very familiar with the lake they were going to and I even gave them my favorite spots. Well that same evening I went out to the lake and sure enough there was the man and his grandson in the spot I had told them about and when I motored over to them they told me they had caught about 25 bass in less then 2 hours and they had one nice on the line when I was pulling up to them. On another hand... That same day while I was at the Wal-mart helping this man I saw another younger man (mid 30's) looking through the tackle and telling his wife about going bass fishing. Well he picked up small 2" grubs and treble hooks and one of the push button kid poles and told his wife he thinks that will work for him.. So I asked him how he fished his grubs... I was hoping he was using it as a trailer but he said he take the treble hook and wraps the grub around the worm and apply's scent and adds a bobber and throws it out. Then I asked him if he needed my help with lure selection and he said no thanks I don't take advice from younger kids... Well I'm sorry but I'm 23 years old and I think I know a little of what I'm talking about. But you know what it just made me feel good to know that I had helped at least one person that day!!!
  5. The problem with bass getting foul hooked is not a fun problem to deal with. Many time a bass will strike only to kill if you make the fish mad. That is probably why you foul hooked them. As for healing - Unless you hit vital organs I usually do not worry about it. I hate to kill a fish as much as the next person but things happen sometimes that you may not be able to control. I usually cut the hook out if I cannot get the hook out any other way and release the fish. I haven't kept a fish in years and I do not plan on it anytime soon. (I don't eat much fish) But I enjoy catching them!!!! But to answer your question the fish you are talking about should be fine.
  6. When you are fishing in hot temp the main thing you want to do is find the structure out in about 15-20'. (that is the depth that works for me) Throw some jigs with a good trailer on it. I also like to throw a jigging spoon once I see shad hitting the surface. Then I would try a deep diving crankbait and knock it into EVERYTHING!!! The louder the better (IMO). The main times I have found bass in the shallows is during breakfast and dinner times. Bass will go to the shallows to feed on bait fish that can survive with such a low level of oxygen. Bass are very finicky creatures. Let the bass tell you what they want and you will find yourself much happier each time you go fishing!! Tight Lines and good luck!!!
  7. You can easily send the pics to your e-mail and then save them to your computer and post them here. But as for your lily pads, buy some frogs from brent... www.*.com great frogs he has!!! Also try throwing a ragetail shad... Both of those baits are extremely awesome for me when fish lily pads and matted grass.
  8. Great job man, I just started fishing jigs this year as well and man what a difference they make on the deep bite!!!
  9. Da*n dude that sucks!!! At least you are still finding the big ens!!!
  10. They are winning now... Keeping my fingers crossed!!!
  11. If you don't have a tilt lever on your boat I would keep the motor down all the way before you take off. When I go to take off I trim the motor all the way down. Then once the boat has gotten up I will then start to trim the motor up until the boat is level and running at full speed. As for your tilt I'm not so sure to tell you how to do it best. But the only way you can get your boat on plane is to set the motor as far down as possible.
  12. If you are planning on buying something... I would buy a larger tow vehicle. That boat seems like a great deal but it will not be worth your money if you cannot get it to the water. JMPO
  13. Dam* That has to be about the largest jon boat I've ever heard of!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  14. I watch every game no matter if it is Preseason or not I love my skins even though no body else does... But they are gonna make it this year!!!! HAHAHAHA Just like a skins fan we say that every year!!! ;D ;D
  15. Nice looking bass you got there!!!!
  16. Nice shirt!!! I wanna get me one!!! BTW decent sized bass you got there. 8-)
  17. Thats really cool... what I would give to catch a pickeral.
  18. Awesome video!!!! BTW That bait is a buzzbait not a spinner, if he reeled the bait in fast enough it would glide of the top of the water, but they do double as a spinnerbait! Great Job!!!! 8-)
