  1. Good Luck today guys!!!
  2. Looks like they are on to something with those baits!!! :o
  3. I used to have the same problem with my frogs. I would have very aggresive stikes but never get a hook-up. I started talking to a buddy of mine and he suggested a weedless hook. So I wnet to the local Wal-Mart and picked up some eagle claw 2/0 weedless hooks. I riged them up and brought the wire down around the tip of the hook and added some super glue to the top of the hook to keep the bait attached to the hook. I tried that and on my very FIRST cast I caught one, just to see if it was luck I tried it again, and again and overall I only lost 1 all day and I think that is because I prematurely set the hook and pulled it away from the bass. This is now my goto way to rig any frog. I just received my order from Brent and I bought some of his frogs and they are terrific!!! Try them.
  4. Check this video out

Hey Alc first off welcome!!! I love fishing the renagade brand worms. I usually fish the 4-6" curl tail worm.I have never had any luck on fishing it Carolina Rigged (C-rig) I will usually fish it weightless or Texas Rigged (T-rig). I have very little luck with these baits in a pressured body of water I usually have good luck with them in farm ponds. Actually I caught my Personal Best (pb) on a 4" renagadepurple/black curl tail worm. It was a 10.2 LMB Also I have never caught any other species on this worm, however I am not tell you that it is not possible. Try it T-rig or weightless, it will hopefully prove successful for you. Good Luck
  9. I looked on the ragetail site but I couldn't find anything that said the date the bait will be availible. I would like to try them...hint hint Steve.... How much are they going to run?? I hope not to expensive :-/
  10. I hope this topic is in the right place if it is not I'm sorry please move it. I have a 7' Shimano FX S-7 70MB2 medium but has a very limber tip and I am using a guide series POS spinning reel.... I would like to know what ya'll would put on the rod and reel combo so that is will fish right. I had a spinnerbait on it and it worked great, I tried a worm but I couldn't get a good hook set so I took the worm to another rod/reel set-up and had great hook-ups. If you an add a bait to go along with this wacky combo I would appreciate it. Thanks Again I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong area. 8-)
  11. Check the fuses in your truck, but I didn't read it yet but have you checked to bulbs? I had the same problem before and I didn't even think to check the bulbs. ;D ;D ;D
  12. Great looking boat!!!! It would match my truck haha
  13. One thing I would tell you is not to jump the gun and let the fish take it, if he is big enough he is usually take the bait and not give a "tap-tap".
  14. I would try to throw a deep diving crankbait, spinnerbait, and try some topwater around the structure. Depending on water clarity try a jerkbait.
  15. This time of year EVERYWHERE you go is hot, water, air temp is hot and fishing gets hard. I have just started fishing deep this year, since I have learned about it on here!!! But try fishing between 15'- 25' that area is where the thermocline is (at least in VA) But try this and you will have better luck.
  16. Jimmieo, There are many places that you will fish that there are no structure where you wish there was. I have made many peices of structure for smaller farm ponds and even a few private lakes. It takes some time to figure out what will work that is why I added all the types of wood that has worked for me. I have been disappointed with some structure that I put out but others have been very successful. Old structure will always be the best to fish because fish know that it is already there. Once you add a structure the fish will begin to relate to it. -Nitro
  17. Hey ron, Like you already know I fish there ALWAYS and I have sent you a pm reguarding this area. If you have any questions I have also added my cell number for you to call me. and if you want I will even take you out there in my boat. Nitro
  18. Some people that fish areas alot will start to keep fish, therefore making the fishing alot more tough. I have spoke with my local Parks & rec representative and I asked if I could add fish from a large private lake to the public lake. He told me I could so, so far this year I have put about 250 LMB in this local lake. I know That I will never be able to keep the lake stocked up forever but I would at least like to have a few more years of fun at this lake and hopefully get some big hawgs out of my hard work.
  19. Great trip!!!! BTW nice fish!!!!!
  20. Well I hope next year they buy you a nice ride lol BTW congrats on your fish and happy belated
  21. Nice story seems like your old man might not do as much research as you but he still whips you!! LOL J/P bud ;D ;D
  22. We were talking, laughing and having fun, no doubt about it... I just happened to have a night where even subtle bites felt vicious. It wasn't a case of concentration or focus. maybe i should stop trying to focus and concentrate so much and i would have better luck. i am always thinking about what i am doing or not doing, too fast or too slow. then, the one second i start yappin with my buddy i get bit and miss!! so what did ya catch flechero, anything good? where you fishing belton? Cliff X2 Red I think I'm in the same boat as you are in!!! ;D ;D ;D
