  1. Glad to hear you had a great time!!!!
  2. Go deep after a big front, Fronts are diffucult to fish but usually it takes a while for the front to affect the fish. But I would definatley fish deeper then normal. I am by no means a great deep water fisherman, but after hearing all the replys on topics that relate to this one I have tried it and I am now a believer!!!
  3. X2!!! I would also try a popper on the edges of the lily pads Don't forget about the bigger worms also, big bait big fish IMO
  4. Try catching the carp, they are fun to fight. All it takes is a couple peices of kernal corn, you can buy a can for under a dollar at the store and have a blast all day long,..... cheapest fishing ever!!! hahahaha
  5. Welcome to the best site on the net!!!!
  6. I would say that it is bass since bass are pretty much on the top of the food chain in a lake. I am with the rest of the guys on this, I would throw a variety of topwater, I'd try a fluke, spinnerbait, red eye shad, and a baby 1-. Good luck
  7. I would estimate the weight to be about 3 lbs as well, just a guess though on the girth I would say about 9-10 "
  8. Welcome!!!!
  9. With high sun and in the hottset parts of the day topwater bites are awesome!!!
  10. I'm with George on this!!! Don't even worry about the pressure, some days are better then other days you will always have to change the way you fish on a daily basis, so worrying about the pressure is only one more headache making you second guess yourself even more.
  11. It all depends on the severity of the storm, if it is just a lite rain then it doesn't affect the fish, (Fish are wet already they don't care about the rain.) However the temp change of the rain into the water will cause the fish to go deeper, I would try using a lizard, jig, jerkbait or a top water popper... Fish the popper around overhangs.
  12. Try using a fluke or a swimbait with a hidden hook. Many time the young of the year blue gill and shad will use the vegatation for cover giving the bass an easy meal.
  13. There are many options here which most have already been covered... But try the rage tail shad. It performs just like a buzzbait only it is weedless, it moves alot of water and causes a hell of a vibration making the bass strike. You could always try a frog and if you do not get any strikes on it take the skirt off the frog and add a weight to move more water. Good Luck and have fun!!!!
  14. Thanks roadwarrior, I have used the Paca craw many times.... also a hell of a lot cheaper then rage tail... but I do like the rage tail lures. But GYCB are very expensive.
  15. When I bought my boat it had a 2 blade prop on the TM and I always got stcuk in the weeds. I would have to pull the TM out of the water about every 30 seconds just to clean it off. That got extremely annoying especially in tourneys when the majority of the fish were being caught in the thickest of the grass. I went to Gander Mountain and bought me a three blade prop and I was soooo excited to get out in the middle of the grass and not get stuck. So when I finally got out there I was VERY IMPRESSED with the way the 3 blade prop performed. I never once had to pull the motor out of the water even in the thickest weeds. The only thing that I didn't like about it is that it killed my battery faster then my 2 blade prop. Just my 2 cents, BTW I would only get the 3 blade if you have to fish a lot of grass. Other then that I wouldn't waste the $50.00 if you don't have to.
  16. Thats not a bad deal at all, in fact I think ksbassfisher could have gotten more for his boat.
  17. Try this.... http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/drop-shot.html Another great way to learn is by watching "BASSPRO'S" on the Outdoor channel, There is a great instructional demo shown by KVD....AKA the man!!! That tought me exactly how to do it properly. Tivo it and rewind it as you try to setup your pole the same way... thats what I did Good Luck!!!
  18. X2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Well I hope you find 1!!! Sorry I cannot help you, but if I'm ever in TX I'll take you out on mine!
  20. Nice fish!!!!! Where can I find a swimbait like that??? PM me with the info
  21. Nice fish!!! Glad to hear you did so well!!!
  22. Hey ron, I fish frogs all the time on the Potomac and let me tell you, they are one of the most productive lures I have ever fished. You are right about the strikes but no fish... I have a little trick for you to try. Buy weedless 2/0 hooks. Instead of rigging them like a weedless worm just pull the hook as far as you can through the worm and then take the weedless wire and just clip it on the hook. It will runn weedless over ANY cover and it will keep your frog in a better condition. Another helpful tip for this same set-up is to put superglue in the lure towards the eye of the hook. This will also help you keep your lure in good condition.
