  1. I recently broke an ugly stick on a nice bass... Yeah I know they are supposed to be unbreakable. But I honestly broke mine on a fish. It is a 7' 2 peice lite pole. I bougt it at a Gander Mountain near my house but when I went to return it to them they refused to take it back and said I would have to contact Shakespeare. Well I have e-mailed them quite a few times... NO RESPONSES... Big Suprise but they guarantee their product right??? So why no response. So if anyone knows who I should contact that could help me out a little bit more please post it here. I hate getting the "run around" on ANYTHING but here I go again haha Thanks!!!!

... Okay I'm not new by any means but I do not know what the hell that means... the whole GYCB... PM me what that means please hahaha
  3. I was just talking about this the other day with a guy I fished with... I will always cast out as far as I can to cover more ground, but I always seem to get my bites at the farthest spot. I have lost MANY fish by doing this... I fish flouro and mono. I only use braid for flipp'n and jig fish'n But the flouro has stretched to much for me many times as did the mono but the mono was way worse. I'm not trying to join in ya'll ticking match over the different types of lines :... I'm just suggesting not to cast out so far... if you have a boat get closer to your target or if your on shore... GET A BOAT LOL ;D ;D
  4. BassChump I have been reading all your threads on your bad luck. :'( I'm sorry all this has happened to you. I really hope that with everything everyone on here is willing to do for you pays off. Maybe the broken trolling motor has become the hardest of your problems... fixing it may help you suceed in all your other efforts with your daughter and that big ole bass waiting just for her!!! I am willing to go for what fishfordollars stated. 40.00 from any member with a heart heck we should have the money for you to buy a new trolling motor in less then 24 hours!!! Hell I waste more money then that on tournaments I never win so why not try to help out a fellow angler?? I hope it all works out for the best and if it doesn't... We will be here for you bud!!!
  5. Murky water does take longer to heat up due to the "layers" of water that the sun has to penatrate to heat the water. With that being said it also takes the water a lot longer to cool down from the suns rays. If you must fish a murky area you may want to use a bait that is loud and will produce a reaction strike. once you find the area where you bag the most fish try different "LARGER" soft plastics. Hopefully the big bass will slam your lure. ;)Best of luck to you and nice bass!!!! ;)
  6. Welcome to the Forums!!! Maybe we can help you put down the golf club and pick up a fishing rod more regularly!!!!
  7. I think "setting the hook" is my favorite part!! At least when you set the hook you know automatically if you will be happy for that split second or totally ticked off for the rest of the day knowing you missed what "could have been" the biggest fish of the day!!! Thats just the way I look at it... Fighting the fish is one of my least favorite parts since there is such a margin for error here. I see so many guys lose a nice fish during the fight. ;D
  8. X3!!!! That is the best way to do this!!! Like you said if you pull and pull you just end up pulling the hook out of the bass' mouth. I was always told to go to them.
  9. To me a pond could be anything either man-made or made by the man above. It could be huge or it could be small... I only call a Lake a lake if it is big enough to luanch a boat in. A pond to me is way to small to put a boat in... and when I say a boat I mean a decent size bass boat. not a jon boat. I know from expierience that fishing a pond is much more productive then a lake and it is a lot easier to fish. I hope this helps you out some.
  10. I myself have found myself out on rough water and I was scared too! I had taken a guy from work fishing and he had only been fishing on Lake Erie as a kid. The water was nice and calm when we started but soon it became very windy and I was fighting 5-6 ft waves in a 17 foot boat. Yea I know it was stupid but I took a long trip out to where we wanted to fish. The way I got back to the dock is by going parrallel with the wave and them sliding my way into them. I stayed at an idle since my boat is not big I stayed slow so that the boat wouldn't spear the water and overturn my boat. If you have a larger boat it would be better IMO to go faster and stay on top of the water. Glad to here you made it home safely. That water can turn bad veru quickly
  11. Senkos are the number 1 bait to me!!! lol Try a larger bait like a 10 inche red worm... duplicate color but change shape see if the bass still bite!! You could be suprised
  12. Fishing After the rain has always been a productive time to fish for me in ponds and small lakes. But fish during the rain has been the best for me. It also really depends on the amount of rain you really got too! On a hard rain it takes a while to find the fish after the rain. On a slow rain it is a lot more productive. Before the rain it is a lot of fun to fishing can be at its peak during this time!! Good Luck to You!!!!!!!!

  14. Looks to me like you made a Great decision!!!! Nice Pics!!!!
  15. Nice Bass!!!! Im want to go try out Fountainhead soon!!!
  16. Ron, I know exactly where you are talking about. I have caught a lot of fish off of this point but I have had trouble this year catching any fish!!! Last year I pulled a good 8-10 lb. Channel Catfish off that point with a white spinner bait. I'd like to get a bunch of fish to put in that lake. Hopefully I will get the OKAY from the county ranger!!
  17. I'd love to go out to the Occoquan someday to try out some bass fishing but since I don't know very much about it I was wondering if someone would like to go out on my boat and show me around!! send me a PM if you are interested :
  18. Hey Jack.... Were you fishing out of Hope Springs that same night??
  19. Wayne.... All I can say is I apologize for calling your boat a "piece of junk"
  20. Welcome to the best site on the net!!!! Hope you caught your big 'en again!!!! 8-)
  21. Well the one thing I have made myself do is not to leave until I have caught at least 1!! But on Average on the river I will be satisfied with catching 2-3 keepers On the local lakes I fish I am happy with 10-12 fish But I have a local Private lake that I am only satisfied if I can get about 50-60 in the boat!! Summer fishing is difficult. They are not in the same areas they were 3 months ago in many bodies of water. Try deeper cover or matted grass thats where they lay this time of year. Good Luck to you!!!
  22. It is in Fauquier County... What days will you be availiable?? Just let me know when you can go and I will check my schedule. I have a good friend of mine who is coming home from Iraq on Saturday and I already promised to take him out fishing with me ever day that we can go until he heads back to Iraq. I think he will be home for 2 weeks but the fishing ain't going away in 2 weeks!!!!! So let me know!!
  23. HAHAHAHA This sounds like we had a hard day of fishing.... It was a lot of fun, we could have done better if my dang battery would last me longer then 7 hours!!!! I need a new one!!!! Last year a young kid about 4 years old went out with his dad fishing with night crawlers and he pulled out a 7+ pounder and I know for a fact that they kept that fish to mount it... Guess they never heard of getting a replica and plus... at 4 years old who cares anyways??? Take a pic and throw it back!!!!! I plan on talking to the park ranger there and asking him if I can take some small bass from a local private lake and put them into Germantown Lake so hopefully the fishing will get a lot better. But I know I will need someone to go fishing with me on the private lake (200+ caught per day) so if anyone wants to go I'll have to get permission first and then we can transfer fish!!!! Thanks for going again Chai hope you had a great time!
