  1. Hey all... I'm looking to get a good pair of polarized fishing glasses. Now I wear glasses so I would need prescription lenses for these. I was wondering what is the best approach to get a pair at a GOOD price? Do you order them online and give them your prescription or do you get them the same place you get your glasses? Thanks Robert
  2. HE is Triton Mike and you can find him here... http://www.tritonmike.com/ Enjoy!!
  3. Yo-Zuri Hybrid or some mono. Flouro won't do topwater well. But braid with a mono leader will. I'd strongly look into braid though.
  4. Shimano Citica E or Revo STX...depending on your budget. The Citica is silky smooth like your woman's legs after she shaves ;D
  5. One more thing...this rod WILL perform better than the rods you listed above. The Compre would be a nice upgrade from the Clarus, but the Clarus offers a lot for the little you pay.
  6. I own (1) Clarus and use it mostly for reaction style baits where sensitivity isn't as important...I find when I really need sensitivity, I turn to something else. I bought mine knowing I wouldn't use it every time out, so it was easier for me to justify buying this rod for $50 then spending >$100 like I usually would. But for what its worth, this rod has never let me down and comes with a warranty. So I'd say I'm pretty happy with it. P.S. They might still have some on sale at Tackle Warehouse. I'd check it out.
  7. I'm in the market for a setup to fish poppers. Most of the ones I have only weigh 1/4 - 3/8...so the question is... Do you fish these lures on baitcasting or spinning? I find they don't cast too well with the equipment I currently have. Can you please also post which rod/reel you use for this as I'm going to purchase something based on the opinions of everyone here.
  8. I agree w/ fourbizz...Did you weigh that fish multiple times and you got confidence that scale is correct? I've seen quite a few 8s that looked much smaller than this fish. Either way...thats a beauty and nice work on switching to something she would eat. Fishing is a game of adjustments and you made the right one!
  9. Don't go with the 6'8" ML rod...its way too light for this. Make sure you get the Medium Action in whatever length you choose.
  10. I have no experience with these Yo-Zuri baits...but I did nail (4) keepers on their lipless crank today. So needless to say I would be willing to try some more of their offerings.
  11. Randall... what are your hooks of choice?
  12. Please forgive my involuntary drooling ! I just can't help it :-[
  13. Does the Basstrix have the best action? Cause it appears they have the most realistic color patterns. The Berkleys are 9.99 and I can get the Basstrix at the same price. Should I go with the Falcon Jerker Hooks? Which size would you use for the 4" and 5" models?
  14. Hey there... Looking to try out some paddletails to imitate the threadfin shad...any recommendations? Is it worth it to spend the $10 for the Basstrix or are the others like the Money Minnow better for the money? I'm looking for a 4 - 5" bait and also want to know which hook you are using. I have a 6'8 MH Dobyns rod...would it be okay for this or should I get another rod? Should I buy a dedicated small swimbait rod...I've got the Mattlures Bluegill and Baby Bass already and don't have a swimbait rod yet...but if I get one, I need it to be versatile to throw other baits as well. Thanks Rob
  15. That bait looks great man! Now go use it and report how it works.
  16. Does anyone know when we can expect to physically hold these reels? I know you can pre-order at this point, but I wanna know if I do pre-order, when can I expect them to start shipping? Rob
  17. All I can say is wow You must be a d**n good stick if you've got gear like that!!! AND P.S. where's my invitation to fish the Delta? :'( I was up there this past Thurs and Fri with my grandpa. We launched out of B&W and did okay. He's just about getting too old for the fishing deal.
  18. Starting at $139, they are tough to beat in my book.
  19. I fished the Rage Tail for about two hours in the California Delta this weekend...I got two fish to come and check it out, but neither ended up hitting the bait. Meanwhile my grandpa had boated 4 - 5 fish on the buzzbait, so I'm not sure what it was, but the buzzbait worked better this outing. Overall I am very impressed with the action but either I had the wrong color or my presentation wasn't so good cause I couldn't boat anything on it.
  20. Hey there...I'm really looking to start fishing flukes and I had quite a few questions. First off, I've got the Tiny Flukes in Baby Bass and the Super Flukes in a clear sparkle color. I plan to fish the Tiny Flukes on a spinning rod...I have ML or MH...Both 6'8". My spinning reels have 6 lb. floro, #6 Yozuri Ultrashot and 8 lb. P-Line CXX. I plan to fish the Supers on a baitcasting rig...7' M or 6'8 MH with 10 lb. floro or 14 lb. CXX. - What rigs would you suggest I use for each? - What hook sizes to use? I put the Tiny Fluke on a small worm hook (like 1/0) and when I jerked it, it would spin a little. Does this mean incorrect rigging? - Can I fish these higher in the water column faster and also a bit deeper letting them sink with slow jerks? How would I rig if I wanted to fish these in 15+ depths? My guess = split-shot - Is it basically a jerk-jerk-pause type retrieve but a bit more erratic and change it up? Sorry for all the questions but I need to add these to my arsenal.
  21. And I would trade you straight up for the GLX no questions asked. However you pay shipping on both ends ;D That is a beautiful rod and I plan to get a Loomis spinning rod soon. P.S. I really have a CR722 IMX that I'm looking to deal.
  22. I've got a CR 722 I may be willing to give up also.
  23. I would go with the SJR783 or SJR843, depending on which length you like better. But in the end, any IMX you get will be awesome. Robert
