I tried to suggest my hot senkos color we can't get. The big plastics company didn't listen. The colors aren't available. Now I suggest nada. Funny they offer a color that's close but not in a senkos.

I use Excaliber Silver Thread Copolymer line. Years ago they posted a lab test and it beat the other lines for bending cycles and abrasion testing. Here we are decades+ later I'm still with it.

Before I used a local deli is close by were I weigh my fish in. I use a bucket and move quickly. But now we have slot limits. A scale, a tape measure and a phone video.

Once a person says I never catch anything before going fishing I say stay home. I hate negativity.

Think about this? I see freshwater otters at twilight before daybreak. Think about this family of otters eating the next world record? How about some little kid with his bat man zebco outfit at some unknown body of water catching the next world record. This one I hope for.

I been using fin-nor lite spinning reels now for decades. They stopped making this model but I manage to find perfect used ones. These were expensive in there day. If you happen to find one try it.

Switch to a faster ratio reel. Keep the line tight to control the situation.

I use a 1/8oz brass bullet weight on my Carolina rig with a 24" leader. With a eagle claw 249w weedless hook in 9' of water from shore. I either keep the line taunt and follow the bait down waiting for the slightest nibble. Or twitch the rod tip as it falls, working it.

If I change one out I go one size larger.

Stainless doesn't mean it won't corrode. I use a moly paste to lube everything. Just a little with one drop of reel oil. It will seem tight at first but it will free up. Moly Eliminates all wear Reduces friction don't use it on the drag plates. Fights corrosion. Prevents galling

Trailers Spinnerbaits mister twister 4" double split tail grub. Very hot. Jigs a pork trailer(im old school)

Big bull frogs come out at night. The duck dynasty guys hunt them at night.

I use different brands of stickbaits due to different colors. Gambler ACE electric blue BPS stiko red amber flake Mister Twister comida Others too BPS offers different lengths and diameters too. (7 1/4") The BPS STIK O WORMS work as good as senkos, they last longer. I use different brands of senkos type baits. Color, length and size matters. Experiment people take your time. While one may work for a few fish a different one may load the boat. Don't be happy with a few fish. Try changing colors, baits, presentations. No scent on the first cast. If I miss the strike I use scent on the second cast then it's 100% hookup.

I take my fishing very serious. I was going everyday till I got burned out. I will be back soon(sick). Ill be in the fall hunt for big bass. I'm hooked on fishing. Do I need a break from fishing? No not when I was in the groove of up at 3;30am everyday. Kiss the misses goodbye, load the car.......

The next world record could come from your local pond that has the correct eco system to have big bass. My three healthy places I fish at hold bigger bass. I notice there are larger bass than 10lbs. If I'm seeing them and lost a few bigger bass than every body of water that's healthy has to have the same big bass. The record in this country was from Georgia. They caught a bigger one than the record but they ate it. Not California, not Florida but in Georgia. The next state record could be in your backyard. The next world record could be there too it's mommy. Find a healthy place to fish were the panfishing are healthy and big. Fish it hard. Big bass eat sunfish, eels and crawfish. Plus ducklings.

I stop fishing to help teach kids. That's were we need to focus on the future of this sport. Get the kids interested and keep them motivated in fishing. Talk to your local news paper about writing a fishing report and include a "kids bobber report"?

First congrats. Good job u earned it. I could of registered all my bigger bass here with the state. I could of got on there list of catches (notable). But I didn't. The problem is everyone would see where I caught them. Even if I lied which I wouldn't it would bring so much more pressure I just refrain from doing it. Things are remembered in my mind. Nobody knows the time I was putting in to do it. Eat, fish sleep 24/7. The day was shower and bed at 8pm, up at 3:30am. Casting by 4:00(roughly) stay till 9:30am. Go home change knots and be ready for the next morning. Repeat for three months or till burned out. After catching my PB10# I was driven.

I purchased the largest bull frog that bog baits offered. I been trying to find a large hook to rig it with no success. My grandson 4 1/2yo comes over and wanted to see my lures in my tackle box like he always does. He grabs each plastic bait to scare the misses. Then he takes the bull frog and ripped it's leg off. That's my bull story. Since I couldn't rig it, there's more room in my tackle box.

Don't cast too far it's risky with bigger bass. Don't ask me.

There's a lot of weedless stuff out there. Search it. Mepps Timber Doodle. Mister twister top prop. Don't forget the weighted grub. Drop it in the open weed pockets. I even twitch a floating crankbaits over the open weed pockets. Twitch a smaller spook. All these stuff works.
