  1. Subsurface. Using a spook if you hold the rod tip close to the ground and reel fast enough the spook will run just under the surface in a erratic motion. The spook does a tail wag side to side. I've had strikes in this situation. I know your talking plastics.
  2. Lunker hunt frogs. Spinning reel / rod for 5yo grandson bday Bill Dance quantum reel n rod extra one. inline spinners old brand different.
  3. At night the bass run smaller and one place I'm at is heavy pressured. I don't want the non bass fisherman to see me catch bass nor what I'm using. They take home everything they catch to eat. The morning is quieter plus the bass babes are larger.
  4. A feeding frenzy happens at this time. I seen it between thunder storms, before the rain starts and during the light rain. All of a sudden they put the feed bag on its fish after fish. My bait is an amusement ride and every bass wants a ride. In the light warm rain I fish from shore I caught 19 bass standing in one spot. Even the deer were moving at this time in the daylight. Has to be the moon phases. Another time I was inbetween thunder storms but it had to be during the moon phases. I caught one crappie the size of a five gallon bucket lid. All the bass ranged between 2-6 2lbers I must of caught a bushel of them. At another spot a swamp two hours before the rain was due. Me and my son had doubles after doubles bass on mepps inline spinners. They were between 1-3 lbers. But a million of them. Doubles for an hour. I think it's the weather front timed with the moon phase. If u never witnessed this feeding frenzy stay going before, during and at the lull of the front. U won't believe it. After the real heavy rain is over the bass are tight lipped. Because the heavy rain stirs up the bacteria on the bottom. The PH in the water column changes. After a few days of nice weather it returns to normal. Smaller places. Inline spinners Mepps Anglia #3 any color blade, any color dressed. Joe's fly firetiger apache 1/4oz bass size. Rebel BIGCLAW CRAWFISH crankbaits. You won't believe it. My older brother always told me to stay going and sooner or later they would turn on. He was my mentor and passed away before I understood what he was talking about now I do. God bless him. We did everything together hunted, shoot, fished, I miss him.
  5. I carry my buddy and his six Freinds now. I'm not good at running nor speed. Plus I can't woop it with a 7' bass rod. I'm always alone.
  6. I purchased new fly rod setups from a 4/5wt to a 9/10wt with every wt inbetween. When I get into something new in 150% into it. I'm 64yo I'm thinking when I slow down and want to relax it's fly fishing. The rods n reels were on clearance and sales. Now I need to checkout my bass flys. I know I have tiny mice flies. But not sure what else I need. I bought every normal fly for my area what to use matching the hatch for panfishing and trout. I bought some ebay bee flies that are hand tied in vt the best quality I ever seen. I can't go too small with flies I can't see them to tie them. The bigger bass stuff should be easier.
  7. If I know they are there I cast past them and 10' to the right or left of them. I draw them out. I do this when there tearing up the pads on the surface too. I never cast at them. I work my spook slowly by them. Tip if there close to shore, from a boat the eels are inches from the shores. Black rubber 6" worm split shot cast on shore and drag it into the water. Stealthy. From shore cast parallel two or three feet from the shoreline.
  8. Minnesota land of 1,000 lakes congrats.
  9. Picture perfect award winning presentation is the key. I do a twitch, 1 twitch, 2 twitch, 3 twitch then pause. It works with topwater, propbaits, poppers, spooks etc. Each twitch is the same distance. The bass look for flaws in our presentation. Go slow.
  10. I fish the YUM money minnows with no weight using the dying minnow twitch. Sometimes I use the hook that has the lead in the middle. It's my hot bait for November too. If it's snowing it's a plus. Anytime is money time yummy.
  11. I been wanting to plant a row of pepperoni in the garden next to the lasagna for years but can't find the seeds. Lol
  12. Uncle Josh pork trailers pig strips.

I had a tumor removed in my arm in the surgeons office. He didn't numb it up enough. I jumped at first and said just do it. They were shocked I went through it not completely numbing it. I'm so use to pain. I watched him cut my skin and remove it. Golf ball sized. Sometimes we gotta suck it up and be tough. You should of seen the look on the docs and nurses faces.
  14. Time for a little fishing rod kit? Every time my son's were born they got a shotgun, two big bore deer/bear rifles. 40 years a they were cheaper. A push button fishing rod too.
  15. I purchased five new fly rods from 4/5 to a 9/10. Planning on fly fishing for bass. I will look into more info thanks guys great video. I have fly fished for bluegills already.
  16. A weedless Rubber mouse. White or grey. Work it off the branches.
  17. I like buying new stuff just to test it. Those minnows in the bubble, baitball nada. Rapala DT series nada. Berkley cranks look good nada. I won't toss them away I'll still try them they just don't work where I'm fishing. FACT at one-time or another each lure does catch fish. I purchased those chopper inline spinners for months caught nothing then one day bingo fish on. Never know. My older style bomber cranks and rebel BIG CLAW crawfish still rocks.
  18. I always use a shot of scent anyways.
  19. I have the older mepps style spinnerbaits somewhere.
  20. I don't have many high dollar baits. I keep it affordable. Bomber cranks, rapala minnows, Norman thin N, etc. Look for clearances in Wal-Mart from January on. Out with the old stock and they replace it. Look for clearances and bargains. A little at a time. Checkout tag sales too. The success is the same.
  21. It's the release agent they use in the plastic injection machine so it doesn't stick to the mold in the die. Two shots of YUM covers it. It wears off anyway
  22. I call it "ME" time we all need it often.
  23. We had some heavy rain and flooding once. There was a puddle left on shore by the high waters. I seen some movement in it. I had a little spinner on. I caught a tiny sucker. I put it in the river.
  24. Nice there's hogs in Maine.
  25. Try a inline spinner, mepps, panther Martin, joesfly.
