Marvel Mystery
I use seafoam it's a fuel stabilizer, lubes the valve stems, seats, frees stuck rings, reseats the rings. It's in all my equipment every spring / winter. In all my power equipment, mowers, tractors, garden tractors. Everything starts up in the spring like I never stopped running it.

Bill Dance And Private Ponds
Our Glenn here with his videos explains more about the bait rigs, setups and how to fish them. When someone explains more clearly it's easier to understand. It's old school vs new school. It's the passing of the torch soon. Things have changed a lot in the past decade+ I can't keep up with it. Every time I go away and comeback there's a new rig or a renamed rig. The fishing game changes. The fish don't change but our equipment surely does. I learned from Jerry McKinnis, Hank Parker, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, but this site with Glenn and u guys really helped educate me to go out there and figure the rest hands on. I respect everyone for doing that. It's skill that catches bass. The trick to watching how to videos is listen to what they say and do with the rod or how the rig is made. With Bill Dance I watch the rod action closely. God bless, bill

Worth Going Cheap On A Frog Rod?
Wouldn't a frog rod, jig rod and topwater rod be the same action?

Bill Dance And Private Ponds
Bill Dance went head to head with the Infisherman Linder boys in the tournaments besides Jimmy Houston etc. I think he earned his dues. I fish a few private ponds that has a small area for public access thanks to a judge who owns the land. Am I not worthy of the fish I'm catching? I earn it. You know who I'd love to fish with? The mad fisherman. Head to head. From shore my choice of spot. Charlie Moore an Irishman playing a Italian godfather. Fish with me the real Tony Soprano will show up.

Let's Talk Retrieves....
With prop baits, inline spinners, spinnerbaits I go fast enough to make the blades spin. Go slow and increase till they just spin. Crankbaits, hard minnowbaits. I count "one thousand" slowly on the handle. One turn equals one thousand. Topwater, 1 twitch, 2 twitch, 3 twitch then pause. Poppers. 1 pop,,,,,2 pop,,,,,3 pop,,,,then pause. Same presentation both poppers and topwater spooks. Some lures require a special presentation. Rebel BIGCLAW CRAWFISH CRANK dives to 10'. I cast it out as far as I can. Close the bail and sweep back the rod so it dives. I bounce it on the bottom then a slow retrieve. Yum money minnow, slow reel or 1-2-3 pause dying minnow effect. Or steady retrieve. Mister twister top prop. 1-2-3 pause. Or 1-2-3 longer pause. Or steady slow retrieve. Floating cranks. Stop over open pockets in submerged weeds. Twitch, twitch. Just enough twitch so it stays in the same spot. Rapala split minnow countdown. Drop it in a deep hole let it hit the bottom and twitch it. For me the blue back yellow bottom color is hot. Now unless your split shot worm fishing don't try to eat a sandwich. Panfish liked my salami n cheese. P&j is faster to eat.

A Lure You Were Disappointed In After Using It

Good Cheap Bass/pike Rods?
To me a bass rod and pike rod are two different setups. I picked up a 8' inshore rod for the great northern pike. It's borderline light salt water rod. These can be found affordable.

Idling Over Points
I'm fishing from shore. My favorite Rocky point goes off the corner of a low bridge into 9' of water. It goes about 15/20 yards. On one side is the moving current, the channel under the bridge. My point is I find bass on both sides of the Rocky point and on top of the Rocky point but more bass on the calm side of the point. The point goes from the shoreline to 9' of water. My question is how deep does the point have to be before you idle over it? Would drifting over it be better? Stealth matters. I'm so quiet I don't know I'm there.

What Would You Ask....
They do talk to each other somehow. All animals do I been Learning about how cats talk. We can't hear there high pitch sound but it's there. Squint your eyes at them they squint back. My three black feral tamed cats I had since kittens. I have a special whistle to call them in. They learned words like, (go, go) to go outside, (want to eat), (want to play), bass have to talk somehow. I'm playing with one kitten in a room. He stops looks at the hallway says something the other kitten runs in the room to play too. When it's a bass feeding frenzy do the bass call the other bass thinking my lure is amusement ride. It seems there all lined up for a turn? It's true. How do they all come to that one area. Nature has its own alarm system. Every go deer hunting and the birds squak as we walk down the trail. When the area behind us goes quiet the birds in front of us start up. I seen a large bobcat come through the yard. The birds followed it chripping away as it walked into the woods. Bass have a alarm system too. We walk sending vibrations into the water. We step on rocks, roots that stick out of the ground sending vibrations into that water. My buddy John showed me this with his goldfish pond. There's a rock 20 feet away he taps it with his foot. The fish are lined up on the shoreline ready to eat. That's why I say stealth all the time when shore fishing. Why was that sunfish looking at my line where it entered the water. My well used spinning reel was worn out. It was sending gear noises down my line into the water like a guitar string. It was very old spinning reel. The sunfish was exactly where my line went into the water. Of course I bought new reels. I don't judge things that I think happens till I witness it.

A Lure You Were Disappointed In After Using It
Maybe it's the color and presentation with any bait. I hang in there and still try it. I've seen baits catch nothing then just turn on go figure. I rotate my baits too so everyone gets pool time.

Rod Balancer Butt Cap With Baitcast Rod ?
I just purchased two spinning rods a 5'6" & 6' with separate 200 & 400 spinning reels. The balances were off on the first try. I switched the reels and there balanced perfect. The reels are from China. The sizes seem to run smaller. The 400 seems like inbetween a 25 & 30 size wise.

Small Guides & Big Knots
I have the KVD TORNAMENT BC ROD. With the micro eyes. Haven't used it much. The micro guides remind me of the fly rod that the line went inside the rod, no eyes. Just a funky tip. My point is next the change will be to larger eyes on a BC ROD like a spinning rod but a tad smaller. Again some will buy again.

A Lure You Were Disappointed In After Using It
First it's all about when, were and what time your throwing it. The presentation matters. With a new bait I wait for a slow time to practice my presentations with it. Sometimes a bass will let me know when I get it right. It could be the color were using too. Some days the bass are limited to what color they can see. I try to purchase an assortment of colors with each bait. Rapala DT's haven't worked for me yet. I'm sure it's me with the presentation. Those torpedo prop baits I use my "world famous"(i crack my self up) 1-2-3 rip n pause presentation. Three short rips enough to make the prop stir then a pause. The timing has to be even. The bass will time it so it hits on the pause. This 1-2-3 rip n pause works with any topwater bait. Some days it's a slow reel just fast enough so the prop spins. Some days I find myself fishing too fast. I'm exceited to be out there. I purchased three Mann's crankbaits. One murders the bass. The others nothing. I guess we need to tweet/tune some new baits too. I'm no pro nor will I ever be one. I'm just crazy about fishing. I want to experiment and try everything with fishing. I go out and have fun throwing lures. Just to figure out if it works, what presentation works. It's not luck in fishing it's skill.

What The Hell Was On My Line?!
My story of what the Heck was it starts out like this. It was just before thanksgiving a bitter cold over cast day. I was dying to go fishing and drown some lures. I get to one of my local hot spots and it starts snowing a light flurry. I put on a 6" YUM money minnow in pearl. I'm fishing from a corner down along the shore parallel to my right side. The Lilly pads are dying just below the surface. I'm between the pads and the shoreline were there is open water. There are no snapping turtles I can see there path thru the swampy area to hibernate. I see there paths every year thru these weeds. Ok I cast out the money minnow doing a dying minnow presentation. A small twitch. It's going right then left with each twitch. All of a sudden fish on. My rod is bent in half like it never bent before. I hear my drag give a little. I move it then it holds, I can feel the head shake. It's a battle for 15 to 20 minutes. I never seen the bass. Then it spits out my lure. I put my jaw back in place after it dropped. Never seen it. Never told anyone about this spot.

Looks Like I Will Be That Guy..
This could be why some setups cast easier than the others? On my spinning reels n rods I bend the last eye to match the angle of the face of the spinning reel. Sometimes I go a tad more so the line from the reel feeds frictionless into the first eyelet on the rod. Distance in shore fishing matters. How many balance the reel to the rod using a wood screw and Flatwashers?

What Do You Think Is The Absolute Most Effective Popper?
First bass are a predator. I have two kittens there brothers. I take a shoe string one will be aggressive and all over it. The brother may take two throws of to make him attack. The bass are now different they can strike right away or wait. My food for thought is the topwater action might not happen on the first cast be patient. My hottest popper rebel pop R in light blue with white bucktail. My hottest top water lure BPS Topnocker. Discontinued. Either chartruese or firetiger. I have all the colors but never tried them yet.

Line Color Fish See It?
I'm fishing a place deep in the woods near a golf course. It's hardly fished. I find the fish very sensitive to there surroundings. A few sunfish lined up looking where my line went into the water. The only way I almost caught one of the larger bass there was I caught a sunny on a rebel bumble bee. As I lifted the sunny out of the water a large bass made a pass on it. The fish do see our line this says they could be line sensitive. Can the bass be wary of our line color probably. Bass seeing colors look up Dr. Loren Hill ten year test on bass seeing colors. Keep an open mind you just may catch more bass. When the bass bite slows down, shuts off try changing colors then talk to me. It's not bs.

Bargain Baitcasting Reels?
I use a Chinese baitcaster from eBay it's around $27. To me it works perfect ill post the numbers. #DM-120LA it's black with red trim. #141139172865 It has to be a exact clone from a name brand. Or a name brand put there name on it. IM no pro I rather buy lures. I've fished with shakespear $12/$14 baitcasters when I started out. Ok bash me now it works awesome.
